It's not perfect, but it works

This dash kit works pretty well, but it's not as good as what I expected. The AC controls have 3 little plastic "nubs" on top of it, so that way the factory stereo's bottom won't slide forwards towards you since the radio is top-heavy. This kit didn't use the nubs that the AC controls had, so I had to hold the bottom of the kit flush with the AC controls while I was installing everything back into the dash. For what it is, Crutchfield pretty much gives this to you free. If you want the best experience, it might be worth looking at another kit that uses the nubs, but this will work just fine -- as long as you're patient.

The kit fit nicely in my 2002 Ford T-Bird but the instructions are very vague. I would have given 5 stars if the instructions were more detailed.

Not the best kit out there

The kit included all of the necessary pieces to fit my 01' Lincoln LS, but they did not fit very well. It didn't align with the existing trim and would have required grinding off alignment "nubs" on the top of the A/C controls. Luckily I read these reviews before installing my stereo and ordered a Scosche in-dash kit from another company. The Scosche fit perfect. It utilized the factory "nubs" on the A/C controls to keep the bottom of the stereo from moving. You can't go wrong with getting the install kits for free with the purchase of a head unit, but I would recommend the Scosche kit for anyone who is OCD about things fitting properly.

Does not even come close to matching or fitting 2002 T'Bird

This kit was free with the head unit purchase, so I won't hit Crutchfield too hard. The plastic looks cheap and does not match the plastic in my 2002 Thunderbird, and my JVC head unit didn't line up with the screws. I ordered a Scosche kit from another company and it works and looks great!

Matches but doesn't sit flush

This mounting kit has a great look but found two problems that bothered me. -one of which, like the other commenter wrote i also had to trim of a couple of plastic knobs off of my ls, which in turn led to the second problem... -the knobs were there to keep the bottom of the original stereo in place, so after installing the kit the only thing holding the stereo in place is two screws above the radio which in turn left the bottom of the kit loose. i called and they told me to put a piece of double sided tape(how ghetto is that) and now the bottom of the kit is not flush The color match looks ok but not perfect, but i will be looking into other mounting kits in the mean time. they should have at least made openings in the kit in which the knobs would fit into but i guess thats not crutchfield's mistake.

The LS can obviously hold a double-din unit in that same area, so why can't we get a double-din adapter kit? I had to trim a couple plastic nubs off the top of my HVAC controls on my 2002 Thunderbird so it would sit flush and it doesn't fit quite as well as factory, but it does work.

2000 Lincoln LS - Looks like a dream

This In-dash Receiver Kit looks like original equipment. It was easy to install my Alpine CDA-9857 using the detailed instructions provided by Crutchfield.
