It's nice wire but there is NO way to distinguish between the two strands. They are identical in appearance. I am accustomed to copper/silver strands, or at least a white stripe on one of the strands. But this stuff has nothing.

I was purchasing a new receiver and speakers. My Advisor, Colin, recommended I upgrade new wire to go with the new system. He then recommended the 16 gauge wire as being the most cost effective alternative that was big enough for my requirements. So I ordered the 100' roll. And used about 75' of it. I'm happy with the results. Glad I did the smart thing and upgraded to new, heaver gauge wire. Or I'm glad I listened to Colin. Thanks Colin

Don't have comparison to other products on today's market but compared to product from years ago the wire strands on this product are ultra thin and easily break. Have to be exceedingly careful when stripping the shield not to damage any wire strands. Had to add banana plugs and spades to get a solid connection from my older receiver to new speakers. Again, had to be very careful when adding the connectors not to break any wire strands. Once all done they work fine.

As for sound quality, this cable performs as expected and I have no complaints. As for installation, the copper filament on the inside is thin and can easily bend and fray when threading the cable through the receiver jacks. I installed it side by side with a speciality speaker wire from audio quest that has a thicker filament on the inside, and the audio quest cable was easier to install. Cutting the wire to length and stripping back the plastic was kind of a chore. You'll need a craft knife (box cutter) and a pair of pliers. Price-wise, this is appropriate value for the money.

Very good-quality, inexpensive 16-gauge cable. I bought this wire to hook up a VERY high-quality amp and speakers. This cable replaced some higher-gauge AudioQuest cable which was more than twice the price per foot. There was NO audible difference between the Crutchfield cable and the Audioquest cable. I might add that I do NOT believe that the ridiculously expensive so-called "audiophile" cable that everybody is selling, and that suckers are buying, makes ANY **audibly** significant difference. What's audible is important, not how the cable performs on an analyzer. This stuff is plenty good enough.

The wire does the job, but it's not like it's pretty or adds to the décor. You can tack it to the baseboards or put a carpet over it. Maybe running it through some fancy painted PVC conduit might give it personality, but that has nothing to do with the sound.

The reason I only gave this 3 stars is due to the difficultly in seeing the ink marking the polarity. It is very light and needs to be much darker and easier to see. Otherwise the speaker wire is great.
