Bose rough-in kit does the job
Jim R from Tyngsboro, MA on 4/4/2016
These rough-in kits are just the thing to get the wall opening right. I had to modify them a bit - made narrower with tin snips and drilled extra holes but they are easy to work with.
Pros: Makes positioning the future speakers easy
Cons: may require some trimming and drilling holes

Bose rough-in kit

Perfect templates to install prior to sheetrock. Had to drill some extra holes in one to fit the studs but was no problem. They started sheet-rocking the next day. I went to check on progress and the drywaller had already cut out the hole for the speaker. We had not even discussed it.

Save your money

These sheetmetal templates are not needed for a good installation in new construction. The paper templates that come with the Bose 191 speakers would work just as well. Save yourself the money and use the paper ones.
