About the Bose QuietComfort® 35 II Gaming Headset
Classic QuietComfort outfitted for gaming
Meet the QC35 II Gaming Headset — the world's only pair of gaming headphones with Bose's famous noise-cancellation.
Classic QuietComfort outfitted for gaming
Both the original QC 35 and the QC 35 II have been immensely popular with our customers, offering powerful noise-cancellation and a relaxed, comfortable fit that makes them great for listening at home or while traveling.
The Quiet Comfort 35 II Gaming Headset refines this classic line for gaming, adding a noise-rejecting boom mic that plugs right into the headphones. The game's soundtrack and your voice both come through clear as a bell, reliably blocking out noise for both you and your team chat.
Focus on the game with noise-cancellation
Bose's Acoustic Noise Cancelling™ technology combines both active and passive noise cancellation to give you clear, rich sound without ambient noise getting in the way. You can quietly relax to your tunes in loud spaces like a subway or a plane, and that same technology gives you a competitive edge when you're gaming. You'll be able to catch subtle audio cues like footsteps or the rustle of an enemy lurking in the bushes.
The free Bose Connect app for iOS® or Android™ lets you adjust how much of noise-cancellation you're using to better match your environment. If you prefer, you can also use a button on the side of the earphones to quickly cycle through the preset levels of noise-cancellation.
Simple controls — including Alexa and Google Assistant
Buttons built into the right earcup let you adjust your volume and pick up phone calls using Bluetooth, all without pulling your phone out of your pocket. A dedicated button activates voice control using either Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. Hit the button and speak up. It's that simple. You can play songs on command, control the volume, and even double check a recipe before dinner.
Made for long sessions
Bose's QuietComfort headphones are famously lightweight and soft, with just the right amount of clamping pressure to keep them secure without causing discomfort. That's an awesome quality in a gaming headset. You can listen to music wirelessly using Bluetooth for up to 20 hours. If you're gaming with noise-cancellation on, the headphones can play up to 40 hours.
Forgot you're scheduled to meet up with your crew online later? You can quick-charge the headset for 15 minutes and play for another 5 hours. If you're not using the noise-cancellation, there's no limit, thanks to passive operation with the included audio cable.
Firsthand listening impressions
When I first put the QC 35 II Gaming Headset on my head, I was immediately impressed with how lightweight and comfortable they were. The headphones felt secure and the earcups created an effective seal, without undue pressure or tightness on my ears.
Even without active noise cancellation running, the sealed earcups offered effective isolation. Then when I turned it on, the world immediately went quiet. It's hard to describe how well this system blocks out external sounds and puts you in your own "space." For example, I could see my wife's lips moving from across the room — but it was so quiet, I assumed she was playing a prank on me. She wasn't. She was talking the whole time, and just I couldn't hear it.
Gaming excellence in a bubble of silence
To test out these gaming 'phones, I started with several online co-op missions in Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries. Our giant robots trudged through the volcanic landscape, the heavy thump of each footstep like a drumbeat keeping rhythm with the artillery shells thundering around us. Lasers hummed and cracked as a heavy metal soundtrack kicked in with the chug of an electric guitar. Our tactical callouts came through loud and clear above the crunching metal of the battlefield, helping us react to incoming waves of tanks, helicopters, and enemy mechs from every direction.
I was totally immersed, unable to hear anything besides the game and my co-op partner. The sound felt detailed and natural, and the bass was surprisingly deep and powerful. When I finally took the headphones off, I was startled at how loud my living room actually was. My aging PS4 sounded like a jet engine in flight. The ceiling fan was on high, whooshing air in a steady rhythm, and the AC was running, a constant thrum reverberating through the house. I couldn't hear any of that with the QC 35 II on my head.
Rich, detailed music
After I was done smashing robots, I got some music listening in, starting with "Settle Down" and "Goldmine" by Kimbra. The sound separation of the various mixed and looped tracks was superb. Each layer was distinct and contained details I'd never noticed. The next day I listened to a handful of Wardruna albums while working, taking in the deep vocals and ancient Norse instruments as I typed away. No matter what I listened to, the sound was clear and warm. And hours later, the headphones still felt comfy on my head.
Nearly universal compatibility
The included gaming module uses a simple stereo minijack for its wired connection. This lets you hook right into a PC, most mobile devices, and the vast majority of gaming controllers on the market. They'll plug right into current and next-gen PlayStation and Xbox controllers, and most pro-style Nintendo Switch controllers. If you play video games, chances are you'll be able to take advantage of the QC 35 II Gaming Headset.
Easy-to-use controller for PC
An optional desktop controller is included to give you quick access to your master volume and let you monitor your mic feed. You can hook the controller up to your PC and position it near your keyboard, saving you the time of reaching all the way up to your headset.

More details on the Bose QuietComfort® 35 II Gaming Headset
Overview: The Bose QuietComfort 35 II gaming headset brings the acclaimed sound and award-winning noise-cancelling technology to the gaming world. The headset comes with a removable gaming module with an adjustable boom mic and mic mute, and a PC control module for controlling volume and mic monitoring. You get the same comfortable fit as the QC35 II headphones that lets you stay in the game for hours. Not only can the headset be used for gaming, you can use the headphones for listening to your favorite music in high fidelity or carrying on crystal clear phone conversations. When not using the headset, you can fold them for easy storage in the zippered carrying case.
Bluetooth: The headset features Bluetooth (ver. 4.2) wireless technology that lets you listen to your favorite music and make phone calls free from wires. You can pair the headphones to your NFC-enabled device by simply touching the device to the NFC touchpoint on the right ear cup. You can store up to eight devices in the headset device list. While you can be actively connected to two devices at the same time, you can only play audio from only one at a time. Bluetooth does not function when the headset is in gaming mode. You'll need to plug in the aux cable to disable Bluetooth when gaming to provide the lowest latency possible.
Voice Assistants: The QuietComfort 35 II gaming headset gives you easy access to your favorite Voice Assistant. The headset is optimized for Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, or the native voice control assistant on your mobile device (Siri, Google). Voice Assistants let you play music, listen to the news, check the weather, control smart home devices, and many more tasks, using only your voice.
Note: Voice Assistants are not available when the gaming microphone module is connected to the headset, because Bluetooth is disabled.
Gaming Module: When you're ready for gaming, you can plug the included gaming module into the left earcup. The module includes a professonal-quality microphone on a 5" adjustable boom. With over 30 years of experience in developing microphones for aviation and professional sports headsets, Bose knows the precise boom lengths that work best, the ideal physical design and acoustic materials to pick up your voice and reject everything else. The boom mic is certified by Discord and TeamSpeak, two of the leading 3rd-party chat apps used by gamers to communicate with their friends and teammates during online gaming. When the gaming module is plugged in, Bluetooth is disabled, so you'll need to plug the module's USB cable into your PC or console so you can hear the game audio and communicate during game play. The module's cable has an in-line mic mute.
PC Controller: The included PC desktop controller connects to your PC via USB, and provides two-way communications with your game software during PC gaming. The controller has a large rotary volume control that lets you adjust the overall game audio. The Mic Monitoring button on the outer diameter of the controller lets you control how much of your own voice you hear while using the headset. You can repeatedly press the button to cycle between low, medium, high, and off. Pressing and holding the button quickly turns Mic Monitoring off. The controller is 2-5/8" in diameter and 1-1/4" high with a 8.25' USB cable. It has a 3.5mm audio jack for connecting the gaming microphone cable.
Active Noise Cancelling: The Bose QuietComfort 35 II Gaming Headset offers significant noise reduction to eliminate outside noise, so you can concentrate on your gaming, music, movies, and videos. The soft ear cups acoustically seal out noise. Microphones located inside and outside of each ear cup continually measure, compare, and react to outside noise. The proprietary noise cancellation circuitry then sends an equal and opposite signal to the ear cup's speakers to cancel out the noise. The circuitry also goes the extra mile to eliminate the soft hiss that occurs with most electronics. You can use Active Noise Cancelling at any time; with or without Bluetooth, or even while you're not listening to music. There are three levels of Noise Cancelling: High, Low, and Off.
On-board Controls: The QC35 II gaming headset features a 3-button control panel on the bottom of the right ear cup. The outer buttons control volume up and volume down, while the center button has multiple functions. When listening to music, the multi-function button controls play/pause, skip forward/backward, and fast forward/rewind. The button also lets you answer, end, or reject a call. The controls work with both iOS and Android devices. The Action Button on the left earcup is for accessing Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, or Active Noise Cancellation. The on-board controls are disabled when the gaming microphone is connected.
Voice Prompts: Voice Prompts in the headphones guide you through the Bluetooth pairing process, powering on and off, and for battery status updates. The Voice Prompts can be heard in English, Spanish, French, German, Mandarin, Japanese, Korean, Italian, Portuguese, Swedish, and Dutch. Other languages may be available for download through the Bose Updater app. Voice Prompts can be disabled using the Bose Connect app. (This does not affect Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa.)
Bose Connect: The Bose Connect app makes it easy to connect to your Bluetooth devices, and switch between them whenever you desire. It improves your wireless experience by helping you pair your headphones to multiple devices by a simple swipe. You can also get software updates, product tips, and personalized settings from the app. The free Bose Connect app is available for download from the Apple App store for devices running iOS 11.0 or later, and from Google Play for devices running the Android operating system (version varies with device).
Battery Powered: The headphones have a built-in Lithium-ion rechargeable battery, which powers both Bluetooth and Active Noise Cancellation. The battery charges in about 2 hours via the supplied Micro USB cable. A fully charged battery will power the headphones for up to 20 hours when connected wirelessly (Bluetooth and ANC), and up to 40 hours when the headset is connected to the Gaming Module or with the supplied headphone cable (ANC only). A 15-minute quick charge gives you up to 2.5 hours of wireless activity, or up to 5 hours of ANC for gaming or wired music playback. An LED battery indicator on the right ear cup shows the charging status. When the battery is depleted, you can still listen to your gaming sounds or music by plugging in the Gaming Moduel or aux cable.
Note: The built-in battery is not user replaceable.
High Quality Materials: The Bose QC35 wireless headphones II are crafted with premium materials for lightweight comfort and durability. The ear cup covers feature anodized aluminum which makes the headset lightweight, while the stainless steel headband springs and pivots are built to last for years. The headband is wrapped with a leather top and suede bottom with soft foam on the inside. The ear cushions are made of synthetic protein leather with a silicone bead to passively block external noise.
Bose SimpleSync: Bose SimpleSync allows you to pair a member of the Bose Home Speaker family (sold separately) with the QC35 II headset for playback of the same audio signal. Use the Bose Music app on your Apple iOS or Android device to setup and enable SimpleSync. SimpleSync then provides a one-to-one connection for a maximum of two Bose products (the headset and a Bose Home Speaker). The two products must remain within typical Bluetooth wireless range (30') of each other to stay connected. You'll be able to listen to the same audio signal from the Bose Home Speaker on the connected QC35 headphone (you cannot listen to different sources). You can choose to listen on both the Bose Home Speaker and the QC35 headphone at the same time with independent volume control; or just the speaker or the headphone. Compatible Bose Home Speakers include -
- Soundbar 500 and 700
- Home Speaker 300 and 500
- Portable Home Speaker
Folding Ear Cups: The QC35s feature hinged ear cups that fold and rotate for compact storage in the supplied carrying case.
