About the Bose Soundbar Universal Remote
The remote only illuminated the buttons I needed to control the music I was playing over Bluetooth. So cool!
Even the biggest A/V fans among us likely wouldn't mind doing away with the pile of remotes that we use to control our equipment. The Bose Soundbar Universal Remote can help with that. In addition to controlling your Bose sound bar, it can be programmed to control your TV, cable box, and more.

The Universal Remote is an optional accessory for the Soundbar 500 (and definitely a worthy upgrade), but it actually ships with the Soundbar 700, so I got to try it out when I tested that bar. I was a big fan of its contextual backlighting — that means that it only lights up the buttons you need for the task you are performing.

More details on the Bose Soundbar Universal Remote
Soundbar Universal Remote: The Bose Soundbar Universal Remote Control provides wireless operation of the Bose Soundbar 500 and 700 (both sold separately) without direct-line-of-sight via a Bluetooth LE (Low Energy) connection. You can also program the universal remote to control your TV, Blu-ray player, or cable/satellite box over IR (Infrared), which will require direct-line-of-sight.. The remote features a sleek design with a premium aluminum accent and seamless elastomer keypad that's soft to the touch. The remote's ingenious contextual backlighting only shows you buttons relevant to the task at hand. Whether you're listening to music or watching TV, the remote automatically adjusts itself to light up buttons you need in that very moment.
