About the Clarion RCB204

Improving your Clarion's hands-free calling

Your Clarion in-dash receiver features built-in Bluetooth, but your callers keep asking you to repeat yourself. Your receiver's built-in microphone may be affected by the radio's position in the dash or by your vehicle's noisy interior. Connect this noise-canceling microphone to your Clarion's mic input, use its visor mount or adhesive pad to place it in a good spot closer to you, and your callers will hear you loud and clear. Warranty: 1 year.

What's in the box:

  • Microphone (w/ attached 9.5' cable terminated by a right-angle 3.5mm mono connector)
  • Large visor clip
  • Small visor clip
  • Self-adhesive bracket)
  • 4 Self-adhesive cable clips

Product Research

Features

External Mic: The Clarion RCB-204 is an external microphone which can be connected to a Clarion or other aftermarket head unit with built-in Bluetooth that features a mono 3.5mm microphone input. The RCB-204 external microphone provides better performance in noisy environments than the integrated microphone found on the front-panel of some Bluetooth-enabled head unit.

3.5mm Connector: The microphone features an attached 9.5' cord terminated by a right-angle male 3.5mm connector which plugs into the microphone input on the rear-chassis of your compatible Clarion or aftermarket head unit.

Mounting Brackets: The microphone comes with 3 types of mounting brackets. There is a large visor clip, small visor clip, and a self-adhesive bracket. Either bracket allows the microphone to swivel left-to-right and rotate up-or-down.

Recommended by Crutchfield as a great option for my Kenwood DDX9702S head unit. I currently have the OEM mic and it's horrible. Crutchfield mentioned that this would be a significant increase in terms of quality. [ Kelsie  Apr 16, 2018 ]

I have a Kenwood DDX392 that has a total garbage can mic. Looked around for another mic to replace it, and this one had nothing but good reviews. It's a bit pricey for just being a stand alone mic, but it doesn't need the adapter like the Pioneer mics I have seen, and everyone says it sounds great. No brainer for adding on to my head unit! I read a brief article on Crutchfeild site about increasing bluetooth clarity in your car and since I've been told numerous times when speaking on my cell in the car that they can't understand me, I decided to try this microphone. Also, my car's factory installed radio and bluetooth mic receiver is by Clarion and I assumed it would easily synch with the equipment already installed in my car. [ Regi  Dec 24, 2015 ]
