Features

RCA Inputs: The Clarion XC1410 has two pair (front and rear) of female RCA inputs. When using these inputs, set the gain switch to Low.

Speaker Level Inputs: The speaker-level inputs are 9-1/2" wires attached to the amp. When using the speaker-level inputs, set the gain switch to High.

Crossover: The built-in high pass crossover can be set to 90 Hz, 60 Hz, or Flat (the crossover is bypassed and the output is full range). The crossover slope is 12 dB/octave.

Power Harness: The included power harness plugs into a pigtail harness attached to the amp, for a total of 15" power and ground wires. The power wire should be connected directly to the battery, so it will likely need to be extended; Clarion recommends 10-gauge as the minimum power and ground wire size. An in-line fuse holder on the power wire holds the included 25-amp ATO style fuse.

Speaker Output Harness: The included speaker output harness plugs into a pigtail harness attached to the amp, for a total of 15" speaker wires. The remote turn-on wire is also in the speaker output harness.

Is it possible to just use this for my mids and highs and add a separate amp for subs and if so what do I need?

Yes you can, i connected this amp to my 17 gmc sierra and keep oem stereo and connected four 6.5 morel speakers and oem highs on dash and works and clean sound. I connected the amp to the outputs from the oem deck and power to battery. Also l connected a separate amp for a 8 inch kicker and run a hi/low converter to the deck.

Your head unit (Receiver) if equipped will have outputs for both full range channels and subs. You can most definitely use this amp on your full range channels for mids and highs and use a separate amp on the sub channels. Look for a head unit with front and rear pre amp outputs as well as subwoofer preamp outputs. Also this amp has a switch on it I do believe to block low frequency's from its output effectively blocking bass from your speakers. If you want more control over this look for a head unit with per channel EQ.

As for needing , I hardwired the radio to the amp with the radio pigtail. The speaker wires I used pigtails for aftermarket speakers.

Yes , I am running Infinity separated mids with a crossover for tweeters. There is a separate RCA plugs for rear amp. Sounds really nice, lots of clarity, very clean music. Hope this helps.

Not meant for home; it's designed on a 12V system. But you would need an expensive power inverter to change this to 120V

Just a steady 12v power supply. If you do a google search for 30A 12v power supply you'll find some around 20 bucks. It'll be overkill but there cheap due to being used on lots of 3D printers.

say your factory head unit puts out 15rms per channel and you cut the speaker wires coming out the back of the head unit and tie the wires coming out the head unit for the input of this amp and tie the output wire of this amp to the wires going to the speakers. do you add the rms from the head unit and amp together or is it only the rms from the amp that goes to the speaker?

The amplifier is going to level the input regardless of weather it's pre amp signal (rca) or speaker wire (high level input). Therefor the output is going to be at the rating of the amp for either. 50 Watts RMS

It has standard copper speaker wire pair inputs or rca inputs. It is only an amplifier. It doesn't have its own Bluetooth or USB. Hope this helps.

If your are running two 4 ohms speakers your run them both in parallel. This means positive of one speaker to positive of another, negative to negative. This puts the load at 4 ohms Make sure the amp is stable at 2 ohms.

I don't see why not. I installed one in a 95 Jeep Wrangler and another one in a 1990 Mitsubishi Eclipse. They are both installed inside the dashboard, which is the main reason I bought this amp; it's small size. It has good sound quality, too.

I'm not familiar with the UVO system but as long as long as there's nothing between the radio and the speakers (besides a direct wire) you should be fine. My ford has bluetooth, aux input, etc. and it works fine. Some cars these days don't have a ACC cable so if you're car doesn't have that you want to get an amp that can detect if the car is on/off via the speaker feed itself. Otherwise, you'll have an amp that's always on (aka run battery dead) or an amp that turns off when the engine is off (then you can't hear the radio when you turn off the engine and you want to still listen or use the bluetooth/phone) If you're not getting new speakers too, you'll want to be sure the factory speakers can handle the wattage. The factory speakers in my car were rated to 25W which would have been way under for this amp. I upgraded to some Polk speakers rated at 55w and they sound great with this amp.

Judy, You wil be able to retain the use of the fade and balance controls on your head unit. This Clarion amp has both line level and speaker level inputs for both front and rear speakers. This means that this amp can connect to a factory head unit or aftermarket head unit and you can still control the fade and balance. Will this amp work to push my 2005 4runner that has stock jbl synthesis 10 speaker system but has an aftermarket sterio face? See the problem I'm having is if I turn my volume up it distorts at lvl 30 and there is some bass at low volumes but when I turn it up as well the bass kind of distorts the whole speaker. Do I even need this? Dont run AMPS in series ! You need to match your AMP to your SPEAKERS. Match the RMS ratings, dont pay attention to PEAK power. 50 Watt RMS speakers will match to a 50 Watt RMS AMP etc.

You could power 4 of the speakers in your system with this amplifier but you would have to bypass the stock amp by running new speaker wires from the outputs of the Clarion directly to the speakers. If you plan to keep the factory speakers, you'll have to be very careful with the volume control as they are not rated to handle the additional wattage. I hope that helps! Yes. I would use the speaker/ high level inputs for the front and rear. Saving the preamp/ sub out for a sub woofer. I.e. Bypass the clarion with the sub out.

I don't think so. The manual only shows two installation scenarios, using all four rca inputs or all four speaker level inputs; using a mix of the two is not mentioned. Additionally, there is only one gain switch for the unit, not one for the front and one for the rear -- the gain switch is used to switch the amp between high-level and rca-level inputs. they make (and crutchfield sells) level matching devices, but that may be more complication/expense than you are looking for.

Installation instructions are very easy to follow. I would highly suggest purchasing a vehicle specific wiring plug adapter. with the instructions and adapter, installation is almost fool proof. make sure grounding procedures are followed to eliminate engine noise in the receiver.

I am bench testing the unit with my stereo and speakers - after initially working - now the unit does not get any signal (I'm using the RCA jacks) and the LED glows RED rather than Blue. I Would as good practice. For example if you pull off the power and it hits the ground that would short but not blow the internal fuse. But if you had an inline fuse as close as possible to the battery, you'd be protected

Mine is mounted in a motorcycle fairing. I do have the hot lead coming from an added fuse block that powers all of my accessories but you do not have to wire it that way with the included inline fuse.

There is really no point in adding an addional fuse, it will only increase resistance. I have had this unit operating for two years now without incident. The amp kits you buy are for much bigger amps, dont waste your time or money. Just buy some quality wire the same size that is on the amp, i think it was either 12 or 10awg

If your stereo has RCA output jacks you use them for the inputs. The XC1410 also has wires that you can go to your speaker wires. If you look at the picture, see the wires that come out near the RCA leads ? Those are all inputs to the amplifier, use either set. The other side of the amplifier is the power in and wires that go out to the speakers. Am very happy with this amplifier.

They are low level inputs from the receiver. The speaker wire on that end of the unit are the high level inputs. Use the high level with a factory receiver and the low level with an aftermarket receiver with RCA outputs.

I used them with some extension rca wires to plug into the back of my reciever. That way i got 4 channels. You can also use the wires for input. I suppose you get a cleaner input from the shieded rca inputs. It is a very good amp for the size and money

on the back of your aftermarket radio you will see corresponding rca jacks. its one of 2 ways to hook it up. the other is through the speaker wires. if you use the rca jacks. plug one end of wire to front red/white and the same on back of radio. then rear speaker same way

This will be based on available diagrams and length of your factory HU harness. I was able to find a detailed diagram for my Subaru Legacy HU harness and tapped r.left spk,r.right spk.,power constant, and ground all behind the stock HU. Then just ran the rca's up to the loc and the control knob out.

depends? is there a current amp installed you can pilfer rca and speaker wires from? if not it will require some knowledge of electrical systems, etc. depending on year that can be perplexing. good luck. i had one of these. make sure you vent it well. mine would get really hot under prolonged loud volume, eventually just popping once and dead. i would not recommend this amp.

my kids got this for me on Wes's recommendation and everything sounds good. But how can I get the front-to-rear fade function back on my factory radio? I triple checked that I mated and hooked up the F-R speakers according to the 1982 Corvette shop manual. including the positive/negatives. On another note, the Alpine SPR-69's he recommended are awesome! But, I miss having the fade control since the XC1410 is supposed to be a 4-channel amp.

Yes, the wiring harness on this amp includes a remote wire. It was probably blue. I tapped mine into one of the 12v power jacks in the console, which turns on/of with my vehicle.

By design it is a 50 watt per channel amp, so it would be 50 watt to each channel regardless of number of speakers connected. I've seen 2 subs wired to 4 channel amps (utilizing all 4 channels) in the past, but I don't know the wire configuration. I don't think it would be the best use of this specific model though. This is a really good little amp for pushing the highs and mids in my Jeep Wrangler.

there are 4 leads coming off the unit itself connected internally so the answer is no, unless you splice the rt front and rt rear leads together and do the same with the left side then it might work. this unit does not have a switch to change it from 2 channel to 4 channel, its strictly meant for 4 speakers. I used a 4 speaker setup and it sounds great. its definitely not going to win any sound competitions but it is a nice boost over just the deck.

Currently I only have back speakers but am looking to install a set of 6" spreakers in the kick panels in the front as well as this amp . I used this Clarion amp to push 4 Sony XS-GS1621 6-3/4" speakers in my 2007 Mercedes and it sounded awesome. By far the loudest and best sounding stereo I ever built. Very well built product. I also used an Audio Control LC7i line converter in front of it so I could retain the factory stereo and clean up any signal distortion from it. All in all I was very happy and impressed with the amp and would definitely buy it again.

You can't go wrong with these. Infinity Primus PR6500cs 6-1/2" component speaker system - also fit 6-3/4" openings For the price they are clean crisp and loud! They will get the most out of this little amp, which is deceiving for its size.

I purchased alpine 6 3/4 speakers (4) from crutchfield, and installed the amp into my 2008 Silverado. Freakin awesome set-up. My son is 16 wanting to do a system in his S-10, and his only hope is its as good as mine. The bass is great, with no sub. JVC headunit great also. Can hide that amp in elcky pretty easy im sure. Glove box is huge compared to mine. Friend bought same size alpine amp for his jeep with good results. Jeep cant get good sound from soundbar. No depth for speakers to work right. Good luck.

No; you can use a distro block. Remember though, wire gauge is derived from current draw. You will need to determine your initial size from the battery to the distro block based off all of your amps combined current draw.

I have it installed in the fairing of my motorcycle. I only have 10 gauge leads and it rocks. Folks 3-4 motorcycles back can hear it loud and clear. It gets a little warm but so far has not missed a beat.
