Compatibility
Features
Specifications
Receiver/Controller Compatibility: This changer and its magazine are not compatible with older (pre-1996) Blaupunkt receivers/controllers. It must be used with a Series 3 or 5 receiver. Most Series 3 and Series 5 receivers connect directly to this unit without an adapter, but the following receivers are not compatible:
Aspen CM147 (Item 023ASPEN97) | Jackson CM148 (Item 023JACKSON) | Orlando CM127 (Item 023LANDO) |
Las Vegas CDM147 (Item 023VEGAS) | Los Angeles CDM147 | Reno CM147 (Item 023RENO) |
Sydney RCM126 | Toronto RDM126 | Washington CM147 |
Note: When used with the A08PRE adapter, item number 023A08PRE, the above units were compatible with the CDC-A08 changer. The A08PRE adapter is no longer available, so the above units are no longer compatible with the CDC-A08 changer.
Magazine Compatibility: The magazine used is not the same as the one for earlier Blaupunkt models. Item number 02310DMAG is the correct number to use when ordering an additional or replacement magazine.
Features
Mounting Angles: This changer may be mounted at a 0-5, 40-50 or 85-90
degree angle. There are two installation angle dials (one on the left side and the other
on the right side of the unit) which must be adjusted to correspond to the mounting
position.
Extra Features: When used with a compatible controller, this changer has track up/down, disc up/down, fast cue up/down, track scan, mix (random) 1 and mix 2. When used with select controllers, up to 99 CDs may be named. For the number of characters that may be entered for each name, see info under "Direct Software Control Menu" for the receiver/controller. Track Program Memory (TPM) is available only on selected controllers; see "Note" below.
- Note: When used with the Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, Alaska, Jackson, Orlando and Sydney changer controllers, Track Program Memory is not available.
Cosmetics:
The unit is black
with white lettering and the blue dot Blaupunkt mark.
Access: The unit has a sliding door on the left hand side where the
magazine is inserted (the door slides open from left to right). The eject button is behind
the door.
Connection: The supplied DIN cable plugs into a pig-tail exiting the
changer from the rear lower left corner of the changer.
Specifications:
- DAC: This unit uses a 1 bit Delta Sigma DAC.
- Frequency Response: The 5-20,000 Hz +/- 1dB.
- THD: 0.005%
- Typical Channel Separation: 85dB at 1 kHz.
Signal-to-Noise Specifications Note: The 100dB signal-to-noise rating listed in the Crutchfield database appears on the CDC-A08 box and is Blaupunkt's "weighted" S/N rating. Also, shown on the box is an "unweighted" S/N rating of 95dB, and the manual gives an unweighted rating of 94dB. The 94dB unweighted rating shown in the manual and the 95dB rating shown on the box are based on the same measurement, but the manual writers rounded the measurement down to 94dB and the box designers rounded it up to 95dB. This info was provided by Blaupunkt.
