Denon AH-D7200

Beautiful looking headphones. They sound very open to me with a good deal of spaciousness and depth. The fit is nice and secure without applying too much pressure. The longest I've had them on continually has been about 2 1/2 hours and they were not bothering me at all. The cable and connectors supplied with these headphones have a nice look as well that just adds to the whole package! I'm glad I got these!!!

I bought these to listen to music from my Marantz NR1200 receiver. I don't understand why it seems a headphone amp is recommended for all the "Audiophile" headphones. I listened to My Foolish Heart by the Holly Cole Trio and closed my eyes and it sounded like the singer and piano were in the room with me. The impedance of the D7200's is 25 ohms and my Marantz made them sound great at any volume level. I have worked in electronics for over 50 years and I can understand needing more amplification from a cellphone or computer hookup but it seems like Crutchfield is just trying to sell headphone amps when they recommend one for every headphone. This Denon sounds very clear and has great bass, midrange, and highs when hooked up to a quality receiver with a good quality recording. When you live in a condo in California you can't listen to your speakers at night at the volume you would like. These closed back headphones sound great and don't disturb the neighbors. They are very comfortable and look great too.
Pros: sound, looks, and comfort
Cons: They don't come with a case.
