Crutchfield: Denon HEOS HomeCinema
There's a lot to talk about with the Denon HEOS HomeCinema, so I'll start with the reason you're probably on this page — captivating TV and movie sound. Denon, known for their great A/V receivers, packed a home theater experience into an easy-to-use system that fits cleanly in your TV setup. The sound bar sits below your TV, and you can place the included wireless subwoofer anywhere there's an AC outlet — you can even hide it in the back of the room.
The sound bar can be mounted to a wall or sit in front of your TV on a stand.
You'll enjoy clear dialogue and robust effects from your shows, movies, sports, and video games. And music? Tunes will sound crisp and clear. Plus you get an entry into the Denon HEOS multi-room system, so you can play virtually any song, any time, in any room, and control it all wirelessly.
One wire is probably all you'll need to connect the Denon HEOS HomeCinema to your TV. Most newer TVs include HDMI with Audio Return Channel (ARC), which means you won't have to connect a separate cable for sound — just connect the sound bar with a single HDMI cable and you're done. Don't have an ARC-compatible TV? No problem. There are other connection options that will cover most TVs.
Once you're hooked up, two soft dome tweeters work together with dual mid-woofers, all bi-amped, to deliver spacious sound that will fill your room. The sub adds powerful bass for explosive, realistic effects. Denon uses the same processing found in their high-end receivers to simulate a roomful of speakers in "Surround" mode. Or you can switch over to "Dialogue Enhance" and make sure you catch every important line in a talk-heavy drama.
The HEOS HomeCinema lends power and depth to music too. You can switch to "Music" mode to get the best sound for tunes. When connected to your Wi-Fi network, the HomeCinema opens up a world of music streaming through the speaker's stereo drivers and sub. Wireless setup is easy, thanks to the step-by-step instructions on the free HEOS app available for Apple® and Android™.
As good as the HomeCinema sounds on its own, what makes it truly special is how it works with other speakers in Denon's HEOS multi-room music system. Listen to the same song throughout the house, or listen to different songs on other HEOS speakers.
HEOS offers no shortage of ways to listen to music. The free app will let you play music stored on your smartphone or tablet and create your own playlists. You can also access free online radio stations via TuneIn radio. If you're a Spotify®, TIDAL, SiriusXM, or Rhapsody subscriber, you'll have access to their huge music libraries, too. Pandora Internet radio also offers lots of choices for both free users and subscribers. Stay tuned as HEOS will be adding other popular online music services as well.
HEOS 7 - The largest speaker in the HEOS family is great for large rooms and open floor plans.
HEOS 5 - This mid-sized speaker is perfect for medium-sized rooms like a kitchen or bedroom.
HEOS 3 - Set up this HEOS speaker in a bedroom or office.
HEOS Amp - Add HEOS to any pair of speakers with this amplified player.
HEOS Link - Enjoy HEOS through your stereo system or with powered speakers.
HEOS Extend - Extend your Wi-Fi's reach with this wireless repeater.
Very happy with the quality of sound. A little challenging to set up, but Crutchfield's tech was awesome to help. Can't say enough about Crutchfield's techs and the help they provide. Amazing company!

Very happy with the quality of sound. A little challenging to set up, but Crutchfield's tech was awesome to help. Can't say enough about Crutchfield's techs and the help they provide. Amazing company!
Pros: Sounds awesome
Cons: Using the ap at first was a learning curve
Initially I chose this soundbar b/c it was from Denon and I hoped to have a simple, low-end solution. I wanted to love it so much but, I ended up very disappointed. Sound quality was ok at best. Could definitely tell that this unit did not sound the same or better than my existing surround speakers I was looking to replace. The sub was intermittent and had to turned all the way up to get anything out of it but then would be too much on other tests. By far the worst part of it was no remote. Having to use your phone is a gimmick and fine when you don't have to adjust the volume level at all. But when you have small children sleeping in the other room, the level is constantly changing. The decision to return was easy after spending an entire afternoon focused and tinkering around with it.
Cons: No remote. Sound quality not as good as surround speakers.
The Denon Heos HomeCinema sound bar added a new dimension to audio sound of my bedroom tv. I love that it integrates with the music I have on my phone and makes playback a breeze with the Heos App. I will be adding more Heos speakers throughout my house.
Setting it up was a bit of a challenge. Instructions are poor. Thankfully Crutchfield was very helpful. After it was installed it has worked properly. Sound is amazing. Much better than my other speakers.
Sounds great! Sale price really made it an easy decision. Had no problems adding it to my Heos network. Only using optical currently so no control over TV sound without the Heos app.
My wife had gotten me a sound bar for Christmas. It was a Samsung and after hanging it I found I was not pleased. I returned it and ordered this on and I am BLOWN AWAY. We use it all the time and it is so clear and so loud. It serves as both a sound bar and a house stereo. I couldn't be happier. If you are on the fence about this product....just take the chance. You won't be disappointed!
Pros: Appropriate size Installs easy Extremely Loud and clear Great value
I bought this sound bar as an early x-mas present to myself. The sound bar that we had in the family room just did not have the range I was looking for in a large room. After about looking for about a month I decided on this Denon. I like the fact it has built in WiFi for streaming music. Also, Alexa works well with it. Now it did take me a while to understand the App, but all new things have some flaws. The provided sub has plenty of kick, but not over the top.
Pros: WiFi, setup, nice bass.
Awesome sound! HEOS by Denon is just amazing!!! And Crutchfield is the best pace for home audio shopping!
Sound is nice. However, overall I have not liked this system at all. The Heos app is very limiting. Additionally, the system goes "out" every so often calling for an effort to reset it. I agree with another reviewer that it needs more inputs so you can add more than one device at a time. It is a poor player with the world of connectivity such as Echo. Google Home worked with it, but I'm not so pleased with Google Home because Google hasn't kept Home competitive with Echo. Wish I bought a Sonos.
Pros: Sounds good
Cons: Needs more inputs. Limiting app--hard to navigate (I always accidentally go into the wrong setting) and you wind up needing subscriptions/or your service isn't available. Doesn't play well with Amazon Echo.
Auto set up, but I would like at least two additional hdmi inputs plus one rca inputs for my turntable...and yes I still spin vinyl.
Pros: Great sound right out of box.
Cons: Needs more inputs.
TERRIFIC and highly recommended!
Great sound with impressive sub-woofer. Integrates easily with tv remote in seconds. The app for my phone is ok but could be a little more user friendly for such a great sound bar which is why I gave it 4 versus 5 stars.
Pros: Full and rich sound with solid bass. Simple setup.
Cons: App needs a little work
I love this product. The sound is very rich and deep. I had read the reviews and the issues people had with setup. I pulled the trigger anyway and am so glad I did. I have a direct-wired connection to the HEOS sound bar, which eliminates the WIFI cut out other people experience. In my system I have a Harmony Hub and an RF Harmony Remote Control. The Remote Control commands the Harmony Hub, which generates the HEOS command and issues them over the network, similar to how your phone would control the HEOS sound bar. In this configuration the RF Harmony Remote control has always been able to control the HEOS sound bar. For music I drive the HEOS sound bar from my Yamaha Receiver via one of its many auxiliary inputs. I simply added switching the input on the HEOS sound bar to the Music mode of the Harmony Hub. My wife loves it. I have it mounted so that no wires are visible. The subwoofer is small, but delivers great base. Amazing how much better normal TV watching is now. Last but not least Crutchfield was generous enough to price match, which made it a great deal.
Pros: Great sound. Not as complicated setup as other people make it out.
Cons: None if you can hard wire the network
Easy installation and the sound is great.
So far I have not had luck getting the system to pair with my new Samsung remote. The App will not notice my remote. The Denon support has been horrible. I'm still hoping I will get everything to work but will wait a few days before sitting on hold for another 4 hours to be rudely answered by a rep that couldn't help me.

i would give this 5 stars but the app setup is very poor. but after i figured it out the sound is awesome. i have some tips for others. 1 don't set up the app with an iphone X. i tried to use my phone with the lightning adapter but kept getting errors. after numerous tries, i switched to an older ipad with the 3.5 mm headphone jack. once i did that set up was a breeze. 2. the app is not very intuitive at first. once you figure it out it works ok. the sound quality is awesome. lots of bass and detailed sound. i like that you can adjust the treble, bass and subwoofer level. this sound bar is a huge improvement over a 5 year old sony soundbar.
Perfect for the bedroom or the office. Extremely pleased!
Pros: Clear vocals, rich bass, perfect miss. Very impressed with the system.
Amazing sound quality for the price. Syncs with the Denon receiver in media room seamlessly and no additional hardware required
Pros: Great sound
Cons: Set up is a bit antiquated requiring a cable connection to the phone
The sound when it works is fantastic. The problem is that it is constantly updating exceptis always says that one or more pieces failed to updated. During this process you get no sound. I will be returning it.
Sounded rich and full with streaming content and most tv channels. Way better than the tv speakers. Dialogue is easy to understand, and the bass isn't too boomy or exaggerated. It struggles a bit with pure stereo, but manages to sound better than expected considering its trying to be an all-in-one solution. Denon makes good stuff, and this is no exception. Great value at 50% off!
Cant believe the difference in the quality and the volume of the sound of this Heos sound bar. Replced and old LG bar. As crazy as this may sound, the second day I had it all set up and adjusted I made the statement that it sounds almost and rich and full as my really expensive Denon 11.2 AVR X6300H with 7 speakers and sub in the den. Then after the shock of how good it sounds, I set up the Heos with the Den receiver and wow! The Denon AVR in the den also drives 2 other zones (Kitchen and deck). When they are all sharing the same source, every part of the house including the back deck covered with great sound. Everyone who has seen and heard the entire system is very impressed. Just in time for summer entertaining! Thanks Crutchfield and Denon.
Pros: Fullness and richness off the sound Will shake the windows at high volumes from a small package
Cons: I would have said cost before I heard it, but its worth ever penny!! Heos and Denon Apps are a little flaky (needs work), but I am getting used to them now.
Great sound. Works great
Easy to set up and control via TV or smartphone app. Great sound. Makes watch TV a better experience. Would definitely buy again. Denon products are always very good.
Great sound at a great price. Now watching movies is like being in a movie theater!!
This has beautiful sound and a great partner with my Denon AVR X6300H receiver!
Excellent soundbar to compliment the Heos system
For the money, this bar and sub are a great product. Overall sound is what you would expect from Denon, it's really good. Things I like about this system. 1. It sounds good. When watching TV you can select a dialogue enhancer to better understand peoples words and minimize some of the background noise. When listening to music you can select "music" and enjoy the full power of this bar and small wireless sub. In the app you have the ability to adjust the treble, midrange and bass. Makes a HUGE difference in sound. 2. The ease of installation. Piece of Cake. Yeah, the software takes a lot of heat in other reviews, and sometimes it freaks out on me and I have to exit the app and start over. This happens infrequently, and has nothing to do with the quality of the speakers. 3. The ability to add on other HEOS speakers. I debated between this product and the HEOS bar. After speaking with the awesome rep at Crutchfield and considering my budget, this product fit my needs nicely. I highly recommend this for the reasons I listed above!
Pros: Great sound, ease of installation, ability to manipulate treble, midrange, and bass.
Cons: The app freaks out now and again.
Excellent product. Great sound and versatility at an awesome price!!
Great sound, couldn't be more pleased. Easy to set up and works great with my other speaker.
"This soundbar is really amazing! A lot of the lower reviews are based on the software that can be changed and updated and, from my experience, Denon has fixed the issues encountered by some of the early reviewers. Setup was very easy using the provided hardware and the HEOS app. I should mention that Denon includes EVERYTHING you could possibly need to use this soundbar. Just look at the list of provided hardware. As for sound quality, this thing rocks. I'm not an audiophile by any means, but I did try several soundbars before deciding this was the one. Music sounds amazing, especially when you use the app to switch the sound mode over to music. This soundbar also has a dialogue enhance mode that I turned on from day one and we've been able to hear all dialogue no matter what we're watching. One of the most surprising and pleasing aspects of the soundbar is how powerful the wireless sub is. Its physical size is very small and it looks great sitting next to the TV, and the low end it produces is really something. It's a wonderful system and I highly recommend it."
Pros: Sound, ability to add more HEOS speakers, connectivity options, provided hardware
Ordered the Heos HomeCinema for the den. East hook up. No problem with downloading the app and using music from my iPhone. Easy to maneuver within the app. Per other reviews I thought otherwise, but no problem. The music sounds fantastic. Sound from movies really stand out especially with the woofer. Very satisfied with the price and online help in choosing a sound bar. Will get the another room speaker within 1 year.
Pros: Sound, easy of set up and use.
Cons: Price, but was on sale!
I did have an issue with the voice enhancer not working and would emit a loud pop when I tried to turn that feature on. A few calls to HEOS and they pushed a new update, and viola!, that feature worked flawlessly. I believe it was something to do with my older LG 47LH40 TV hooked up to via optical cable. The app isn't real intuitive, but I haven't had any issues with it, once I learned how to get where I wanted to go. I am excited to expand my HEOS collection to the rest of the house! I compared this to Sonos and Bluesound. I believe Bluesound is the true winner in terms of quality, but a) they hadn't quite released their system yet, & b) their price was projected to be quite a bit higher. Some for Sonos once you add in a sub. For me, this was the best bang for the buck in the growing market of WiFi HiFi systems.
Pros: Good sound, expandability, small package
Cons: app still needs some work
The good: For the money this is a hard system to beat. Music, movies, and TV all sound great even though it is just a bit shy in the bass department but that's not a deal breaker. The bad: The software. For one thing, it's not all that intuitive to use at first, once you get used to it it's OK though. I use the system primarily for two things, watching TV and accessing my music files that I have stored on an external hard drive. Actually figuring out how to access the music on the hard drive was an issue. There are absolutely zero instructions on what's needed to do this. I had to call Denon to actually find out how I had to set up my PC to allow the Heos to see my files. The software also has a few bugs that need addressed. One is that it occasionally freezes and has to be restarted. The other is that album artwork seems to refuse to download when looking at my music as Albums, but seems to have loaded fine under the Track folder. I'm not sure if this is an issue with my phone or the software. I also get occasional false error messages when playing my playlists. If I could give a 1/2 star my score for this system would be 3 1/2 stars. The price and sound quality are 5 star. The software is 3 stars. If they can iron out some of the bugs with the software then this would be a Sonos killer.
Pros: Price, Sound quality
Cons: Software, minimal instructions
Big improvement in quality sound compare to the sound from the TV
Pros: Sleek design, awesome sound from TV
Cons: Not good sound as the one from HEOS 7 when you sync it to it. No tutorial on how to use it
This replaced a Bose Cinemate II. Very nice and compact. I do like the ability to operate the volume from my tv remote. The smart phone app is great to use once you get through the learning curve. The sound is clean and voice dialogue is clear. I have not listened to any music to speak of yet so I can't critique that yet. Overall a great product with a great price. I would recommend buying this product. The sub woofer provides plenty of bass for our 12 x 15 TV family room.
Pros: Price, design, sound quality, wireless smart phone app.
Cons: A little lag time on volume adjustment. Not Blue tooth ready .
Ok I started off with a sony sound bar Ht-Nt5 it was not up to par then went to the samsung curved bar great sound but awful wifi speakers I then had a sales man introduce me to heos sound bar and speakers i was blown away by the sound i even purchased the heos 3 speaker. My initial reaction was where is the manual and remote? This could be problem to some the learning curve on the system and understanding everything takes about 2-7 days The sound is awesome once u figure out how to adjust the EQ, satellite speakers are a bit limited but sound great i have heos 5 now after the price dropped. Overall i would recommend the heos sound bar over the sonos and others because of the price, quality, sound and online capabilities
Pros: Great sound, bass, price, online music access
Cons: User unfriendly. Heos needs an inbox quick start guide, with link to manual and youtube setup video. Desperately need chromecast, google play, youtube, access to itunes library and general access to non pay apps Need to copy sonos accessibility to corner the market
This is a great sound bar if you plan on using other products in the Heos line. There have been some negative reviews on the app itself but it is very easy to use with the latest 2 releases. Out of the box the sound is ok, but after adjusting the eq and sub level as well as turning on the dialogue enhancer the sound is fantastic for TV and movie. Switch it over to music mode and it absolutely cranks. A great feature for watching sports if you have other Heos speakers is being able to broadcast the game throughout the house with the ability to group speakers together. I have used sonos in the past and I think the quality of the Denon system is much better.
Pros: Easy to set up. Hook the provided cable to your phone. Hit add device from the app. Enter the WiFi password and it sets itself up. Connect it to an HDMI ARC port on your TV and it uses your existing remote or it can be programmed to any remote easily.
Cons: Lack of ability to add rear channel for surround.
Do not agree with the other reviewer. The Heos app is easy to use and the Soundbar is fully adjustable. Treble, bass and sub woofer all can be adjusted. Sound is natural and vocals are clear.
Pros: Great sound and easy to use.
I have had this Soundbar for three weeks. Unfortunately the person who rated this a 2 had a terrible sales person in addition to not knowing how to navigate through the Heos application.
Pros: The Heos application is easy to use and very flexible. Bass, Treble and Sub Woofer are full independently adjustable. It's as easy as going into Settings, My Devices, Select the Soundbar and it opens up in to Treble, Bass and Soundbar. Watching TV like the U.S. Open, you car select Dialog and the voices are clear. From a music standpoint, I was watching a 4k Netflix and was blown away by the quality of the sound. I had been looking at Sonus but felt that the Heos sound was more natural.
Cons: None yet.
I visited a local retail store 3 times to test the Heos soundbar. Unfortunately, the local rep who could quote me impedance values didn't know how to work the app to change the bass. After contacting Heos personally and being assured that I could increase the bass, I took the plunge and ordered from Crutchfield as I have always respected their customer service. Paying half the price of Sonos was appealing if I could get the same bass response. Unfortunately, the bass was disappointing. The sound was "good" at 50% volume. But when you increase the volume past 50%, the bass did not increase and there was a disproportionate increase in treble. It was as if the bass just fell out. The highs were pretty good, but not impressive.
Pros: Cost for networking capable speaker system
Cons: Price for a speaker system with disappointing bass

Soundbar Speaker & Sub System: As today's flat-panel TVs get thinner and thinner, so does their sound quality. Denon's HEOS HomeCinema soundbar speaker & sub system will transform your flat-panel TV into a home theater that will envelop you in rich, room-filling sound; clear mids and detailed highs from its multi-driver high-fidelity soundbar, plus deep bass from its wireless subwoofer. Simple to set up and easy to use, the Denon HomeCinema lets you enjoy powerful, dynamic audio from your favorite TV shows, movies, games, and music.
Note: Do not listen to this system and your TV's built-in speakers simultaneously. Make sure to turn of your televisions speakers. If your TV does not let you turn the speakers off, then mute the audio from the TV's speakers.
Advanced 32-Bit DSP: The HEOS HomeCinema features the same powerful 400 MHz 32-bit floating point DSP engine found in Denon's AV receivers that delivers true wide range high fidelity audio, for maximum enjoyment of TV shows, movies, and your favorite music tracks.
Dolby Digital & DTS Decoding: Featuring Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, & DTS decoding, the HEOS HomeCinema decodes movie and music surround soundtracks into their original discrete channels and applies Denon's advanced proprietary DSP to deliver an immersive Virtual Surround sound experience.
Virtual Surround Processing: Exclusive Virtual Surround processing decodes discrete multi-track surround sound channels and uses advanced psycho-acoustic DSP processing algorithms to deliver an immersive surround sound experience with precision front sound-staging and enveloping surround sound, without the need for side or rear speakers. Movie and Music modes let you choose the best audio performance for blockbuster movies and your favorite music tracks.
Audio Settings: The Denon HEOS HomeCinema system offers a variety of adjustable audio settings to enhance your listening experience.
Mounting Options: Denon's HomeCinema home theater soundbar speaker system offers a variety of mounting options for the active soundbar speaker and wireless powered sub.
HEOS Wireless Multi-Room Sound: The CinemaHome is also part of Denon's HEOS wireless multi-room sound system. HEOS by Denon is a wireless multi-room sound system comprising a family of network music amplifiers, pre-amplifiers, and speakers for your whole home. There is a free app to control them from your iOS or Android phone or tablet. You can enjoy your favorite streaming music services, internet radio, or your own music collection through out your home. Plus, set-up is intuitive and simple. To make HEOS wireless multi-room audio work in your home, you'll need.
Wired or Wireless Network Connectivity: The Denon HEOS system uses your home's wireless (WiFi) network for whole-house audio entertainment. The HomeCinema can connect to your home's network via Ethernet (RJ-45) or WiFi (802.11 a/b/g/n). A dual-band (2.4/5GHZ) "N" router is recommended for the most reliable wireless network connection. The free HEOS by Denon app for Apple iOS and Android is used for wireless (WiFi) setup with your home's network.
Note: A HEOS Extend or similar wireless extender (sold separately) may be necessary if your network's wireless signal is weak to some of the HEOS systems in your application.
Multi-Room Configuration: By combing the HomeCinema soundbar speaker system with other Denon HEOS wireless music amplifiers and speakers (sold separately), you can configure a true wireless multi-room sound system in your home. You can play the same audio source (other than your connected TV) in every room or any combination of rooms you choose, including a different song in every room. The Denon HEOS wireless audio system automatically synchronizes audio playback between multiple speakers so that the audio coming from different rooms is perfectly in sync with great sound.
Note: A Group refers to the HEOS App's ability to play multiple HEOS systems together, so you're simultaneously outputting the same source information from all the HEOS systems. Grouping the systems will also allow proper synchronization to all systems so you should never hear an audio delay between the HEOS systems.
HEOS Account: Prior to using the system, you'll need to setup up your free HEOS account. Your HEOS account remembers all your settings and preferences such as all your music service logins and HEOS playlists. When you'd like to add multiple smartphone or tablet controllers to your system, you only need to sign in to each new device with your HEOS user name and password. Instantly all your music services and HEOS playlists are available in the new controller too. If you prefer, we support multiple HEOS accounts in a single household. This way, each family member can enjoy their own personalized Pandora or Spotify account settings and still share all the same speakers in the home.
Digital & Analog Inputs (including HDMI): Denon's HomeCinema home theater soundbar speaker system offers a variety of digital & analog inputs to connect to your TV and AV gear; including HDMI, optical/coaxial digital, and analog stereo minijack. All inputs are all selected by the television button on HomeCinema's front-panel or remote, but which is active is determined by auto-priority. If only one input is receiving a signal, that input will play. If more than one input is receiving a signal, the order of priority is HDMI, Digital Optical, Digital Coaxial, and Analog.
Note: The digital optical output and HDMI ARC terminals of most newer flat-panel TVs only send an audio signal in 5.1ch when receiving Dolby Digital/DTS surround sound from the TV's built-in tuner, network connection, or connected USB device; and will output only 2ch stereo from sources connected to the TV via HDMI, or RCA (like your Blue-ray/DVD player or satellite/cable box). That's why we recommend that in addition to the HDMI ARC connection from the soundbar speaker to your TV, you should also run separate digital audio cables (optical, coaxial, or HDMI) from your satellite/cable box and Blu-ray player to the soundbar speaker for best sound performance.
Online Music Services: You'll be able to stream your favorite online music service like Pandora, iHeart Radio, SiriusXM, Tidal, Rhapsody, TuneIn, and Spotify Connect. More streaming music service coming soon (stay tuned). The HEOS app on your Apple iOS or Android device will serve as the controller for these apps and provide song/artist information with Album Art.
Note: Availability of online music services may vary by region. Not all services may be available at time of purchase. Some services may be added or discontinued from time to time based on decisions of the music service providers or others.
Mobile Device Streaming: Using the HEOS app on your Apple iOS or Android device, you are able to stream your mobile device's music library to the HomeCinema speaker system. You'll be able to browse your music library by Artist, Album, Genre, and Song; control music playback functions like Play/Pause and Previous/Next Track; and view song/artist info with Album Art from the app on your compatible mobile device. You can even type in an artist name or song title to find music in your mobile device's library.
DLNA Certified: The Denon HomeCinema speaker system is DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) 1.5 and Windows 7/8 compliant. This allows you to wirelessly stream a variety of music files stored on your network connected Windows PC or DLNA-certified NAS drives to the HomeCinema. From the HEOS app on your Apple iOS or Android device you can browse music files, control playback and view song/artist information with album art.
USB Port: The HomeCinema is fitted with a rear-panel USB (type-A) port that allows you to enjoy a variety of music files from a USB mass storage class memory device, such as a USB thumbdrive (formatted in FAT 16/32). You'll be able to control your USB device's music and view song/artist info from the HEOS app on your Apple iOS or Android device. USB portable audio devices that can be charged via USB will be charged when plugged into the speaker's USB port (5V/1A); even in standby mode.
Compatible Music Formats: The HomeCinema speaker system supports playback of a variety of music files; including MP3, WMA, AAC (MPEG4), WAV, ALAC (lossless), and FLAC (lossless).

based on all the positive reviews, i chose Crutchfield over other providers as I have always had outstanding service by them. I purchased a Sony system from them for Christmas but is was DOA and they helped me diagnose that it was DOE and offered a return on New Years Day non the less!! outstanding service. I think that it is Gen2. [ Síocáın Dec 12, 2018 ]
Not that I have noticed. Works great through wi-fi and connects to my other Heos speaker though my smart phone app and plays all steaming music stations. I suppose if you wanted to listen to your purchased music it might be a problem. [ Earl Aug 08, 2017 ]
Only if you don't have a reliable wifi network. Onnection on wifi is very reliable once established. [ Mike Aug 08, 2017 ]
No. It operates over your home network. [ Aaron Aug 07, 2017 ]
I don't think so. But a strong wifi signal is necessary. [ ALEJANDRO Aug 07, 2017 ]
It does not if you subscribe to any number of streaming music services that are compatible with this system. If you are strictly wanting to Bluetooth media from your source, then this would not be the one for you. It has great sound and if you are striclty wanting a sounbar to do what a sounbar is supposed to do then this one is great! I fyou are striclty looking for a wireless speaker, then you should probably choose something else. [ Chad Aug 07, 2017 ]
I don't know for sure...but I don't believe that's how it's supposed to work. AFAIK, the AVR-S730H is only designed to playback audio through speakers wired directly to it. I believe HEOS is designed to let you broadcast music, specifically, to multiple speaker systems, but not so much sound from an HDMI source. [ Alan Jul 10, 2017 ]
I would recommend you contact Denon. I have called them for help and what if scenarios and they have been spot on. I don't want to give you the wrong answer. I will say I love my Denon Heos and plan to buy a couple more speakers. Hope this helps a little. [ Kenzey Jul 09, 2017 ]
Yes, it can go on its side. But I would not recommend this unit. The tech is wanting. It took tech support (and me) hours to get it working. The sound would go off all the time (I would have to cycle power) and it would lose the network connection. Right now the other HEOS in the bedroom is not working but I have not taken the time. My optical input would not work so I had to go with ARC. I do not get an OSD for volume level with my Samsung tv. It sounds better than tv speaker but not by much. Importantly (for me) there is no computer-based control and you must pick up the phone to adjust sound. Also, it does not do effective sound leveling. [ Bruce Apr 15, 2017 ]
Yes. The rubber feet are not attached to the subwoofer and instructions include multiple mounting positions. [ Mike Apr 15, 2017 ]
I suppose you could set it on it's side. You can try it and see if it makes a difference. [ DON Apr 14, 2017 ]
Yes, it can. The pads that buffer the floor from the vibration and provide friction are included separately. All you have to do is attach the pads they give you on the side of the subwoofer that will contact the ground. [ Mike Apr 14, 2017 ]
You can group the speakers so they play same sound but I don't think it is 5.1. That said, the one speaker manages to sound like 3.1 (sounds do come from left or right even with no speaker there) [ Bruce Apr 15, 2017 ]
The Heos HomeCinema does not currently support the wireless surround option. While I know this isn't the answer you were looking for, I hope the information helps. [ Ryan Jan 27, 2017 ] Staff
Only worked for me when I first set up my echo. Worked better with Google Voice. [ Síocáın Dec 12, 2018 ]
I don't know the answer to your question. I would recommend calling Denon (may not be helpful today). I have called them multiple times and am extremely satisfied. Customer service is great and the Heos soundbar/speakers sound great. The app gets a bad rap, it is quite amazing. I called Denon and recommended a feature and a couple of upgrades later it was implemented in the app. Hope this helps. [ Kenzey Nov 25, 2016 ]
Thanks for your question. Unfortunately no, the unit has no Bluetooth connectivity. You'll find this information the the product page "Details" tab under "Features". Hope that helps. [ Kenny Jun 22, 2016 ] Staff
