Highly intelligent radar performance from Escort
The radar experts at Escort had something special with their 9500ix detector, which helped usher in the use of GPS technology to combat false alerts. Built upon that legendary device's legacy, Escort's iX radar detector features trademark long-range protection and GPS assistance, plus built-in Bluetooth® compatibiilty for smartphone integration. It also adds advanced technology to further suppress false alerts from new sources on the road, and it learns over time to stop other false alerts too. You can count on peace of mind as you drive with the Escort iX leading the way.
See everything you need
The Escort iX's multi-color OLED display gives you a quick, easy-to-follow view of pertinent information about incoming threats. You can choose the backlight color to complement your vehicle's interior lighting, and the recognizable icons and graphics really stand out on the detector's screen. You'll also get voice alerts in English or Spanish so you can make timely decisions while keeping your eyes on the road.
The iX's AutoLearn feature combines GPS location information with the unique frequency footprint of signals it picks up, so it can recognize where you're likely to get a false alert along your drive. You'll hear fewer false alerts, even if you don't mark those locations as false alerts yourself. After as few as three hits on the same location of a false alert, you won't be bothered again.
In-Vehicle Technology (IVT) filtering
Factory collision avoidance systems help make cars even more safe by keeping drivers aware of potential accidents, but they wreak havoc on radar detectors because they employ similar frequencies as conventional radar guns. The Escort iX's updatable IVT system recognizes collision avoidance and adaptive cruise control signals and separates them from the real threats, for fewer annoying false alerts.
Escort's ramped up the iX's ability to sniff out signals far ahead of your car, so you're sure to get alerts with plenty of advance warning. Whether you're worried about X-band, K-band, Superwide Ka-band, or POP radar guns, Escort has you covered. That goes for laser enforcement as well, including off-axis signals that would get by lesser detectors. Escort's digital signal processor turns those signal detections into actual alerts lightning fast.
Included camera locations
The iX comes with a preloaded database of safety, red-light, and radar camera locations across North America, allowing the detector to warn you when you get near. You can download updates, back up your data, and maintain the database through Escort's website. You'll need a subscription and a Windows®-based computer to update the iX's database — update subscriptions are available through Escort's website.
Store critical locations
Just tap a button on the keyboard to store locations along the road where the speed limit drops quickly, or where you might encounter heavy enforcement. The iX will warn you when you approach them in the future. Or press the mute button at the location of a known false signal — the detector will remember the signal, muting the alert the next time you pass by. You'll hear an alert if another type of signal comes from the same location.
The Escort Live app broadens your horizons
The Escort Live app is a simple way to get your iPhone® or Android™ smartphone involved in keeping you informed. The app combines your GPS location information with real-time reports from other Escort Live users to keep you abreast of potential threats in your vicinity. You can also use the app to report your own sightings of enforcement or other potential travel hazards, which will then be instantly available to other Escort Live users. The app also alerts you to major changes in the posted speed limit, so you can stay on top of the situation.
With the iX's built-in Bluetooth connectivity, you can simply pair the detector with your phone for instant wireless communication between the detector and the app — no additional hardware or cords needed. The Escort Live app is free to download, but a subscription fee is required to use many aspects of the Escort Live service — Escort includes a 1-year trial of the Escort Live Premium service with purchase of the iX detector.
Drive at your comfort level
The iX's programmable features let you set it up to detect and alert you how you want. You can choose the bands to monitor, which meter you want to see, and more. Variable speed sensitivity allows the detector to run at maximum sensitivity at highway speeds, then to move automatically to city mode when you slow down, eliminating false alarms caused by outside interference. It can even give you an alert when you're going over a pre-determined speed limit. You'll have three sensitivity levels to choose from, and five different brightness settings, including fully dark.
A handsomely outfitted detector
Your iX comes fully complemented with a travel case, 12-volt SmartCord, and Escort's new EZ Mag Mount. The mount securely fastens to your windshield and provides quick, one-touch attachment for your detector, with minimal bouncing as you drive. The SmartCord lets you see alerts when the detector's in fully dark mode, or mute the detector without touching it. And when it's time to update the database of cameras and enforcement areas, the iX's mini-USB input makes it easy for data transfer from your computer.

Enhanced 360° Radar And Laser Detection: The new Escort iX radar detector delivers extreme long-range warning on all radar bands including X, K, Superwide Ka, Ku and instant-on POP modes. Multiple laser sensors provide 360° laser protection, including a wide field of view.
OLED Display: The Escort iX features a new multi-color OLED display, and clearly shows the type and strength of each threat. The unit also displays your current speed to help you make the best driving decisions. You can choose from four color themes: blue, green, red, and amber. Text displays can be shown in English or Spanish.
Escort Live App: The Escort iX can connect to your smartphone via Bluetooth for syncing your radar detector to Escort Live, Escort's award-winning app. Escort Live provides access to warnings by other users in the area, and gives you access to local speed limit data for over-speed alerts. Escort Live on your smartphone can also give you more information on the larger display. The Escort Live app is available from Apple iTunes for iPhones running iOS 6.1 or later, and from Google Play for devices running Android 4.3 and up.
Clear Voice Alerts: The Escort iX provides clear and unique voice alerts and spoken menu options. This allows you to make adjustments to the settings while keeping your eyes on the road. The unit will provide voice alerts and menu options in English or Spanish.
GPS Technology: The Escort iX has an embedded SiRFstar IV GPS receiver, and uses GPS technology to identify and eliminate false alarms. The GPS-powered TrueLock Filter lets you lock out false alerts by "marking" the location so the detector can reject the signal the next time you approach the area. The unit is equipped with the Defender database with thousands of safety camera locations, including red light camera and photo radar sites, and will warn you when you are approaching these sites. The mini-B USB port allows you to update your safety camera data and other software through the Escort website.
AutoLearn: GPS technology is also used to "learn" the source of radar signals by location and frequency, and determine if the signal is a real threat or a false one. If the alert comes from an automatic door opener or motion sensor, the Escort iX automatically locks out this source at this particular location. The unit can also "unlearn" signals that are no longer present at a particular location to protect you from locking out real threats.
Mark Location (MRK): The Escort iX has an "MRK" button that allows you to mark a specific location and label it for future reference. Once the location is marked and labeled, the unit will provide an advanced warning of upcoming markers at the following distances:
- Red Light Cameras: 250 feet or 10 seconds
- Red Light and Speed Cameras: 250 feet or 10 seconds
- Speed Cameras: 500 feet (when traveling below 55 mph) or 1000 feet (when traveling above 55 mph)
- Speed Traps: 0.3 miles or approximately 1584 feet
- Other: 500 feet (when traveling below 55 mph) or 1000 feet (when traveling above 55 mph)
Over-Speed Alert: When enabled, Over-Speed Alert will notify you when you are traveling over a specified speed. The factory default is 70 mph. When you travel above the speed threshold you have set, the background display for your current speed will turn red to alert you that you have exceeded the specified speed.
Sensitivity: The Escort iX offers four radar sensitivity settings:
- Highway: Highway mode provides maximum sensitivity on all bands.
- Auto: The unit will continually analyze all incoming signals and intelligently adjust the sensitivity, providing long range warning with minimal false alarms.
- Auto No X: This mode is the same as Auto, but with the X band turned completely off.
- Auto Lo K: This mode is the same as Auto, but with lowered sensitivity on the K band.
AutoMute: After the initial audible alert, the volume is automatically reduced, so you need not manually mute the sound. This feature can be defeated.
SmartMute: If AutoMute has reduced the volume for one alert, and a higher-priority band is detected, the Escort iX will sound an alert at the set volume for the second band before adjusting the volume down to the AutoMute level.
Earphone Jack: There is a standard 3.5mm earphone jack on the right side of the unit.
SmartCord Cigarette Lighter Adapter: The supplied cigarette lighter plug has an alert LED that lights even when the unit is in the Dark mode and a mute button in case the unit is not within easy reach.
AutoPower: The AutoPower feature automatically turns off the unit to save unnecessary drain on the battery. If the vehicle has not moved for 30 minutes, the screen will go dark, and will automatically turn back on when you reach 10 MPH. The AutoPower feature is useful if your vehicle has a constant-power plug which provides 12 volts all the time.
EZ Mag Mount Bracket: The Escort iX radar detector comes with the EZ Mag Mount windshield bracket with a strong magnet to hold the detector in place, and a StickyCup suction cup for greater adhesion to the windshield. The StickyCup is approximately 2.5" in diameter.
