Every car deserves a backup cam, and Crimestopper's MIR-APL replacement mirror makes that a possibility for older vehicles with no room in the dash for a touchscreen receiver. When you put your vehicle into reverse, your backup camera (not included) activates and the 4.3" video screen built into the mirror comes to life, showing you the cam's video feed. The MIR-APL fits most vehicle mirror brackets, but a vehicle-specific adapter may be required. Additionally, some wiring is involved to power this mirror monitor.

Overview: The CrimeStopper MIR-APL is a universal replacement rear-view mirror featuring a built-in 4.3" LCD monitor for use with an optional backup camera (sold separately).
Camera Input: The replacement monitor-mirror cabling includes a standard female composite video input that's compatible with most universal backup cameras with a composite video output.
Adaptive Parking Lines: The MIR-APL features adaptive parking lines that adjust position as the vehicle turns. The parking lines are generated inside the monitor allowing a wider range of cameras to be used with the system.
Display: The left side of the the mirror houses the 4.3" color LCD screen. When powered off, the mirror acts as a normal rear-view mirror. When powered on, the screen will display the image from the camera when the included reverse wire receives +12 volts from the reverse wire of the vehicle. The display has a resolution of 480(H) x 272(V) and can work with either NTSC or PAL cameras. Note: The MIR-APL is designed to attach to most factory mirror mounts, but a vehicle specific mirror bracket may be required (sold separately).
Video Input: Along with a composite video input for a rear-view camera, the MIR-APL includes a second composite video jack for inputting an additional camera or video signal to the monitor. This input is signal-sensitive and will switch the input on the monitor automatically when a video signal is received.
Remote Control: The MIR-APL includes a wireless IR remote control. This is used to adjust the parking line positions, based on the camera's mounting location, as well as for navigating menu options such as, Brightness, Contrast, and Language.
Wiring: The MIR-APL system includes an 8' video cable for running from the mirror to the rear-view camera's cabling (not included). A proprietary 8-pin connector on one end attaches to the same type connector coming from the mirror. The other end of the 8' video cable contains 2 female composite video plugs (Reverse and Video inputs) along with bare ended Power, Ground, and Reverse wires that get tied into the vehicle wiring.
