not the greatest and not very red

If you order the 'red' color but are really hoping for maroon, then you're in luck. You can see a red interior in the photos and how these Q-forms don't match. The cores of these panels are black and are either spray painted or spray dyed at the surface level - if you're not careful the color will scrape off. A lot of the edges had to be trimmed to fit well and fit beneath other trim; I recommend a utility knife with a pull-blade to sculpt the edges. For my '78 El Camino, the instructions said to bend the parking brake with 2 crescent wrenches. There were no pics in the instructions and I couldn't find a video online anywhere so I fumbled my way through that. Crutchfield suggests that 6.5" speakers fit these, but I had to exchange mine for 5.25"s because the grills of the 6.5"s were too big and overhung the edge. 6.5" speakers may fit, but the grills won't and it'll look terrible. Definitely go for 5.25" speakers.
Pros: There aren't many options for this model year car to put speakers up front without cutting metal panels. This product allows for this.
Cons: Color is bad and scrapes off easily. Needs to be modified. Instructions are vague.

Not the best.....

Got these in my 81 El Camino. First, Crutchfield told me the speakers I got would fit....They fit, but without the grills on! Had to modify that. The color was off. The part that wraps around door wasn't there. It just sits flat with no seal. The parking brake was easy to bend, but if you have a clutch, they won't work. I lucked out on that. They sound good, and was the only option without cutting holes in my doors, so they do work.
Pros: They kinda do what they are for.
Cons: Way too expensive, color was off, flabby, doesn't have support, have to bend e brake, 6 1/2's won't work with the grills. Since Qlogic has the patent on this product, they've got you the with price. At that price, ya think they would build them right.
