Missing piece!

The box fits great. Only giving it 3 stars because the tray that was supposed come for the passenger side wasn't Included. Other then that the box is exactly what I was looking for! I would recommend this box because it sounds great too!

Maximum speaker depth is generous
Brian from Billings, MT on 5/17/2019
1999 Dodge Dakota
FYI: "made for use with an 8" driver designed for small sealed enclosures." Pay close attention to the "driver designed for small sealed enclosures" part. The maximum mounting depth is super generous. Maybe 4 3/4" with a S.V.C. low end sub (where the diameter of the voice coil is smaller). Don't attempt a higher end D.V.C., because the sub will bottom out. If you want a higher end sub/ D.V.C. sub that can tolerate smaller enclosures a quality slim-fit driver is the way to go with this enclosure. B.Y.O. additional polyfill.
Pros: Super clean look. Hidden.
Cons: Take max mounting depth with a grain of salt. Thin polyfill.

It fit perfectly 4 stars because the poly fill could be a better quality and the speaker wire that comes with it is sub par for a woofer or anything for that matter
Pros: Nice fit
Cons: Need better speaker wire for the connection to the speaker and more poly fill you can work with. Not just a flat sheet you can't even separate

Pros- * Very clean looking * Very high quality * Installation was very easy * Comes with speaker wire, foam tape, hardware, and instructions Cons- * Limited selection of 8" subwoofers that will fit (I was able to easily fit a Planet Audio DVC subwoofer, but subs with deeper magnets may have space issues) * Included speaker wire isn't the best * Included polyfill doesn't seem nearly enough based on internal cubic feet measurements Tips- * Line the tool tray with sound dampener to minimize any resonance or rattling * Pack the enclosure with additional polyfill if needed * Pre-drill the 4 corner pilot holes with the enclosure outside of the vehicle * Take an extra couple minutes and remove the 4 bolts/screws that hold the folding seat pad to the hinges, this will give you clear access to the back 2 holes on the enclosure. * The additional under seat tray for the passenger side can either be screwed down, or you can lay down some felt tape and let it rest under the weight of the passenger folding seat for continued access to your jack/tools/etc. How does it sound? About what you would expect from an 8 inch subwoofer hiding under a seat. I am running a 400w rms subwoofer and sound reproduction is decent, very tight and punchy, LOTS of vibration transfer through the cab, but lacks the ability to really hit low frequencies. If Qlogic would offer an enclosure that could house a 10" subwoofer, or find a way to include a tuned

Q-Customs sub box for '02 Dakota
TimberWolf from Eastern PA on 5/8/2011
Overall fit was good - but the Rockford Fosgate Dual Voice Coil sub I chose contacts the sloped bottom / side of the box. Since both the box and the Dodge compartment are thick plastic, some "custom" work with a heat gun produced the desired clearance. As another owner posted, I only used 2 screws for the install - but I applied a few beads of silicone adhesive to the bottom and rear of the box to insulate against any buzzing from vibration. I'm pleased with both the investment and the sound quality - but it would be helpful if the maximum sub woofer basket dimensions for the box were noted.

Money well spent

This is a great product and a great idea. The unit mounts under the rear seats leaving it "out of sight" and "out of mind" of would-be perpetrators. I have a JL sub installed in mine powered by an inexpensive Profile amp. The sound is awesome! Don't waste your time thinking about anything else. The box is expensive (more than my amp and sub combined) but given its intelligent design well worth the money. MTX makes something similar preloaded with two 10's but from the looks of it you lose the space to store your jack, plus you can pair this unit with a sub/amp combo for a couple hundred less. A few ditties about the box: You can not mount a sub with a humongous back end. I originally purchased a JBL sub that would not fit. However, I think most others will probably mount just fine. If you run into a problem Crutchfield is awesome (as they always are) and will switch you out for a different sub. Lastly, I was only able to mount this thing using the two front screws due to irregularities in the box, the truck tray it mounts on top of, or both. Regardless, there's no effect on the sound. It's the only reason I rated this item a 4 and not a 5. Otherwise, money well spent!

Fits great, Looks stock, Rocks loud. Would be nice to fit a larger speaker but very well designed for the space. Due to the sharp taper on the back the large basket on many woofers may contact the box. I installed the Polk Audio db840 running 150 watts.
