Our take on the Q-Logic Universal Kick Panel Enclosures

Many award-winning sound-off competitors put their mid-woofers and tweeters in custom-built kick panel enclosures to get concert-quality stereo imaging. But why pay hundreds of dollars to an installer when you can do it yourself? Just mount your 6-1/2" component system in Q-Logic's Q-Forms universal kick panel enclosures, and your car speakers will deliver competition-quality imaging without the expensive price tag. Best of all, you don't have to modify your car!

The perfect speaker position

Q-Forms enclosures hold your speakers in an ideal position, angling them to maximize sound quality. Since the Q-Forms are located near your feet, the distance from your ears to each speaker becomes closer to equal, creating a superior soundstage. The driver's seat becomes the "sweet spot" for great stereo sound. Warranty: 1 year.

Note: The Q-Forms do not come with pre-cut holes, so you must cut holes in order to install your component speakers in the enclosures. You may also have to trim the enclosures to fit your vehicle.

Features

Product Overview: Q-Form kick panels are designed to hold a 2-way component speaker system consisting of a woofer (up to 6-1/2") and a tweeter (up to 2" diameter). They are fabricated of durable ABS plastic and the angle of the speakers provides optimum stereo imaging and staging.

No Grilles: Because no grilles are included with the Q-Forms, you must use the grilles supplied with the component system. In some cases, the grille could overlap the mounting surface for the woofer. In this case the cutout can be made so any overlap occurs at the back bottom edge where it will not be visible.

Note: One of the included installation guides states that grilles are included. That is not the case for the C-series Q-Forms.

Compatibility: These Q-Forms are designed to mount to a flat surface, approximately 10-½" wide x 8" tall. If the area is not flat, trimming the form will likely be necessary, and possibly a customized method of attachment.

Installation Overview: You will need to cut out the mounting holes in the designated areas of the plastic Q-Form. A roll of foam tape is provided for sealing the woofer in the kick panel. The tweeter can be flush or surface mounted.

To add to my previous answer, the tweeter depth is 3 1/8" in the high side and 1" on the low side (it is canted on about a 45 degree angle). The woofer is 5" deep on the high side and 2" on the low side (it is canted on about a 30 degree angle). [ Mark  Nov 08, 2017 ]
I just installed these last weekend. I installed Focal K2 165krx2 speakers and they barely fit. The tweeter requires a 1 15/16" hole for a friction fit. The total diameter of the available tweeter space is 2 1/2", however that leaves no flange for any mounting screws or hardware. My Focal tweeters fit perfectly. The woofer opening is 7" maximum, but again that leaves no flange for mounting hardware. My Focal woofers require a 5 3/4" opening, which leaves about 1/2" flange for the eight mounting screws. The Focal woofer grills are huge, 7 3/4" in diameter and they hang over the sides by about 1/4" all around. The depth dimensions are shown in the drawing, but a couple of other observations that may help. These are high quality, thick and tough ABS plastic with a textured finish. They come with a separate inner enclosure molding with three bosses for mounting screws. Basically, you cut the mounting opening for the woofer through the outer enclosure (what is shown in the picture) and the inner enclosure. You mount the inner enclosure using the three mounting bosses and then slip the outer enclosure over it securing the outer enclosure and woofer in place using the woofer mounting screws. This provides hidden mounting hardware for a clean look. I couldn't use the inner enclosures as my woofers are too large and deep to fit. Not a problem as I used button head screws and several small L brackets on the inside. The button heads are barely noticeable and add to the utility look of my truck. You would not be able to fit woofers larger than these 6 3/4" woofers in these enclosures, but I highly recommend them. [ Mark  Nov 08, 2017 ]
Since the Q-Logic Kick panel enclosures ship from Q-Logic directly, we are unfortunately unable to gather the detailed specs for these as with most of our other products. You may want to try checking with Q-Logic's support for more info; you can reach them by phone at (800) 762-0351 or email: info@qlogicenclosures.com You can also try contacting a Crutchfield Advisor directly by phone (888.955.6000) or online chat to discuss further. They are mirror images of each other. I ended up swapping sides for the best fit in my available space. [ Mark  Nov 08, 2017 ]
