Pretty nice fan, still a little noisy

I placed this fan in the top of my Sanus rack. I have the rack in the home theater room. This fan is quiet but it is still audible at 12V. I spliced a computer fan speed controller into this fan's power cable so that I can still have it controlled by the Sanus thermostat but I could control the operating speed. Once I dropped the voltage down to around 6-8V it was pretty much silent while still moving a decent bit of air.
Pros: Nice metal housing for the fans, fairly quiet, simple standard cabling and voltage, good airflow, nice and professional appearance like all of the Sanus gear.
Cons: Besides drilling out rivets no easy way to remove the fans when they inevitably die, cable plugs don't seem to be an exact match for the receptacles (in length) though they work perfectly fine, run at full speed (no fan speed control).
