Great product

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great product, and pairs up perfectly with the Sanus wall-mount racks. Fairly easy to assemble, although location relative to stud spacing is crucial and you will need help mounting. One of the reviews said this is thin steel and flimsy. I agree the back of the supports could be thicker and more rigid, but if you properly position this based on stud location or a solid anchor point, it adequately supports the rack and equipment. It is extremely important that the hinge-side of the bracket be anchored to a stud or solid anchor point as this is where all of the weight is focused when you swing out the rack. If you do this, the install is rock solid.

Pros: Fits Sanus wall-mount racks perfectly and works as advertised with solid anchoring near hinge side.

Cons: Support brackets could be more rigid to allow more installation flexibility.

Functional but flawed design/mfg

Michael from Issaquah, WA on 3/8/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased this for a wall mount inside my entryway coat closet/AV closet. The unit is made of soft steel and is Very heavy. Unfortunately, being soft steel, it has considerable flex. Obviously the mounting lag bolts had to match the wall studs so the bolts were not positioned optimally at the furthest mounting points (far left and far right). The closet dimensions and the rack swing prevented me from moving the rack to optimized bolt locations. The left bolt is thus about 8" from the left corner. This resulted in about 2-3mm deflection (bending away from the wall) when the rack is opened and about 1-2mm deflection when the rack is swung into the closed position. 1-2 mm doesn't sound like much but the rack is now distorted under it's own considerable weight + the weight of the shelves and heavy audio components. I cannot get the locking pin inserted into the top hole. There are only three solutions: 1) install 2"x8" wood blocking behind the drywall to mount the bolts closer to the corner; or 2) manufacture this wall mount hinge from a more robust ($$$) steel alloy that is more rigid; or 3) engineer the mounting plate in a manner that resists deflection better (cheapest solution).

Pros: Easy to install Compact swing range Attractive

Cons: Flexible Poor material for application

Good product, Well engineered, very robust item. Installation instructions were good.

Pros: Very strong, should easily handle stated weight. Now much easier to access rear of our media components when necessary, integrated cable management a nice feature.

Cons: Product is a little pricey but not too bad.
