Great idea poor construction. The rubber 'port' for the cables pulled free from the body of the bridge and are near impossible to reseat. One of them ripped in the corner and is now residing in a drawer. I also wonder if the extension cord needs to have such heavy insulation. The cord should be of the same gauge as the inwall cable IMHO. It isn't worth the cost.

Pros: No need to run power inside the wall with the supplied cable.

Cons: Large footprint to cut in the wall. 11" X 31/2". Poorly designed low voltage cover/port.

Works as intended!

Tee from Brookings, OR on 2/21/2019

Purchased this after finding out it's against National Electrical Code to run a power cord through the wall. Used this powerbridge to connect my TV to a power conditioner, as well as in-wall HDMI cord to a receiver on a floating wall cabinet below the TV. Now the unsightly cords are hidden versus running down the wall.

Pros: It's great if you want a cordless-looking connection between a TV and power conditioner/receiver. The recessed power input and output panels are nice to plug the power cord into and have the TV/component flush against the wall. It's easy to install since its a complete unit including the electrical wire connection between the two that can easily be shortened. The boxes are slim and white, making them easy to conceal.

Cons: It's relatively expense but worth the cost to be in compliance with NEC/insurance safety standards.

Too easy and clean not to use! Cut two holes in drywall with template, pop in the "bridges" and voila! Much nicer looking than just having two holes in the wall. Well worth it.

Very nice

Very good product. I was concerned that it required a large cutout. As it turns out that made it easier to fish my cables through the wall. It is very neat and secure when your done. Fishing a second HDMI cable through tore the rubber cover piece on the bottom a little so I'll call it 4.5 stars instead of 5.

Pros: Lots of clearance. Large cutout makes fishing cables easier

Absolutely Love this product!

I have nothing bad to say about this product! This product is well designed and delivers on every promise. Provided whole cut out template is accurate. Instructions are great and straight forward. Material is strong and looks great because it was protected by film from manufacture ( I wish all wall outlets looked that great, especially the ones that are not hidden). This was the best wire management system I have ever installed! From now on Sanus is the brand I go with! Thank you Crutchfield for stocking it.

Pros: Easy to cut wall with supplied template Great strong plastic of the outlets Well designed power cable that goes into the wall.

Cons: NONE... ABSOLUTELY NONE!

Sanus ELM806 PowerBridge

Crutchfield customer from North Easton, MA on 10/16/2017

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

The kit has everything needed to install it properly other than a level, screwdriver and drywall saw. Once the two holes are cut, it was as simple as connecting the wiring and tightening the screws. The overall quality on the plastic was good and everything worked. I was a little disappointed on the rubber flap that hides the entry and exit points for the cables because with a little bit of weight from the cables the rubber flaps seem to want to dislodge from the openings. Not a major issue but doesn't make the wiring clean and neat.

Crutchfield customer from Henderson, NV on 2/7/2017

This product would get a 5 star if it were a little smaller. You have to be sure that you have enough room behind your TV with the TV mount to install it. Also need to ensure that there is nothing located in the wall that you want to install it to ensure encroachment. If you have insulation in the wall it may be difficult to feed the wires since a probe is not included nor ideas on alternative fishing. Other than that easy installation and nice looking.

Pros: ease of installation.. looks

Cons: size.

I couldn't be more pleased with this product. I concealed all my wires. My builder placed my wall studs 12 inches on center instead of 16 but not a real problem just makes the fit very snug.

This worked well for our need

Pros: Easy to install

Cons: The rubber that is used for the wire pass through should be affixed to the installed device - it does not want to stay in place with the wires inserted.

Really easy to install. No need for an electrian and looks clean! Plug and go! I initially ran my own electrical but wasn't able to get the benefits of my surge protection /conditioner (wall mouted flat screen). This product let's you not only avoid zapping your self, (if you're a novice) but allows you to get your TV powered to an outlet of your choice. Will recommend this to anyone.

1 question already asked

Q
Can this be used with a standard HDMI cable or does it require a cable for in wall use? And how is it recommended to fish wires through insulation?
[ lmdgraf  Jun 04, 2017 ]
5 answers
A
i used a standard 10ft HDMI (high quality) between cable box and tv. The ELM806 is in an interior wall with no insulation. I installed a different model in an outside wall with a fire block that i had to expose and cut notches to get 2HDMI and the power cord through. The cables there are run between the sheetrock and insulation. These installs were undertaken during renovations by a contractor. Works great but choosing the right wall mount for your TV is critical - too close to a corner with a swivel/tilt can severely limit accessibility to the HDMis behind the tv. Good luck The install is simple and quick. take car in cutting your walls but sheetrock is easy to repair and repaint.
[ William  Jun 05, 2017 ]
A
The correct answer is any cable you run in the wall should be UL listed and approved for that use. However I am sure many people use a normal HDMI cables with no issues. Fishing the wire was easy for me, I used an old metal coat hanger and it snaked between the drywall and insulation with no issues. Overall a very easy install and highly recommended.
[ Tim  Jun 05, 2017 ]
A
Yes I have 4 Hdmi cables in my wall . U can use a cable wire or u could use a electrical fish tool u could get from harbor freight or just use a coat hanger my home is new so it was pretty easy to move the insulation I used a cable wire and I taped it to all my cables and pulled from top to bottom one shot gool luck
[ Dooraj  Jun 04, 2017 ]
A
You can put the HDMI wire through the the opening and pass through the wall to come out of the other open on the bottom connector. The power source is for 110v
[ Joseph  Jun 04, 2017 ]
A
I used a standard, though new, HDMI cable; and all works fine. Mine is on an outside wall . . . so I used a fish tape from the lower housing to the upper housing . . . and pulled the cable back down. I also pulled a couple extra pieces of string along with the cable for future use. Hope this helps.
