I have bought several of these for Samsung and Vizeo TVs and never had an issue. The bolt length was different on the Samsung but they all worked as advertised.

Hi I have a Sharp LC70SQ15U ( about 6/7 year old tv) Is the MLF 13 work well with this TV?

Solid mount. Bought to tuck tv into a stone cut out....gives you options for an install such as that for sure. Maybe be more low profile mounts. Not sure tho .

Q
Is it possible to mount this to metal studs?

I wouldn't. If you really have to, use proper threaded screws possibly self tapping and or proper pilot hole. make sure it doesn't spin out in hole when tightening. good luck

anthony  Mar 29, 2021

I've been in the home building industry for over 40 years. I would not mount it to metal studs. However, you can cut out Sheetrock. And secure solid blocking between the studs. The patch would then be behind your mount. Not as noticeable. I hope this helps.
james  Mar 28, 2021
A
Yes can use anchors or use drywall screws that can lock into steel studs. Predrill holes and should be fine. I was able to install.

Will this support a 70" Plasma?
bruce  Mar 08, 2020

A
I can't answer about whether a 70" Plasma tv can be mounted on this mechanism but my experience mounting a 43" Sony was positive. This unit is built so well there should not be an issue. I was really impressed with the gauge of the stampings and the quality hinges! Exceptional Product Dennis

Q
Does it tilt left and right and hold a 70inch tv?
deshon  May 30, 2018
2 answers
A
Has good left and right pivot and slight up down tilt. I have it with a 65" TV. 70" should be fine. You won't be able to swivel it left/right as much. It will take two people to mount the tv.
glen  May 30, 2018
A
Yes. This heavy duty wall mount can tilt up, down, left and right. I use it for my 65" Sony and I'm very happy with the product. I believe the specifications state this mount will hold up to an 80" screen.
randall  May 30, 2018
Q
My studs are 12" left of center and 4" right of center. This base plate looks like it will accommodate this odd pattern of studs above my fireplace. Can anyone confirm this?
marcus  Dec 30, 2017
2 answers
A
Yes! I just so happened to have mine off the wall and took a quick measurement to confirm. 12" is centered on the outermost slots top and bottom that you can see in the product description, and 4" is centered in the second slot from the center of the unit.
justin  Dec 30, 2017
A
Yes, the mount slides left and right along the base plate allowing you to set the tv where needed. The center of the tv needs to bebetween the two studs but can be anywhere between them.
glen  Dec 30, 2017
Q
Is this wall mount compatible with the 65' polaroid hdtv?
ken  Dec 11, 2017
1 answer
A
It might be able to work with one of their TV's. The VESA bolt pattern of the TV needs to match of the patterns this mount supports. We have those listed in the "Details" part of this web page. Also, the Polaroid TV needs to weight less than 130 lbs. If you like, you can contact an advisor on 1-800-324-9695 with your TV's model to check on compatibility and get a personal recommendation on one that will work if this one cannot work. Q
Are you able to mount a tv in the corner with this product?
thomas  Nov 26, 2017
4 answers
A
NO
richard  Nov 27, 2017
A
The short answer is yes, with limitations. Depending on the size of the TV. Obviously, the TV would need to be narrow enough for the mount to reach the TV, before the sides of the TV contact the walls.
suzanne a.  Nov 26, 2017
A
Yes is very easy to install too.
jose  Nov 26, 2017
A
The mount itself cannot be mounted between two walls but you could manipulate the tv on the mount to be angled as I'd it were on the corner. This would largely dependent on the size of the tv. The mount might be visible as well depending on your situation as well.

Q
What length wood screws should I use to attach to stud? (I'd like to recess the mount into the wall by "shaving" the 2x4 studs. How much stud depth must remain to bear the weight of this mount and 110lbs TV)?
nikita  Jun 04, 2017
2 answers
A
I recommend that you use 3 inch screws, minimum size 10, with 12 being ideal. You will have to drill pilot holes and lubricate the screw (soap or wax) to be able to drive to the full length, and use a flat washer under the head to distribute the load on the mounting plate. This is assuming that you are driving the screw in to the thin side of the 2x4. Do not shave the 2x4 - you are putting a side load on the structure that will potentially bend the 2x4, over time, a thinned 2x4 will bow out under load. The alternative is to either use a 48" plate or angle iron to strengthen the shaved residual 2x4.The use of a plate is only acceptable if the wall is not load bearing. If the wall is load bearing then you need to install a header and support beams to handle the load above. The framing would be the same as a window.... I hope this helps

My Sanus is model # MLF13 - it came with all mounting hardware. My model is mounted with four 5/16" X 2 3/4" lag bolts. Check Crutchfield's website to see if you can view the current manufactures installation instructions - to see if they list current hardware. You probably would not want to shave off any more than 3/4".
