A 35 is one of the lenses you need to have and the Nikon 35mm f/1.8G G ED is a great combination of performance and price without compromising in quality.the sharpness is great thanks to it's large aperture , construction and specs making it a very versatile prime. It is also great value for money as it packs a great punch for the price and worth every penny you pay for it. Other lenses may come and go from your bag but this one is a keeper and one that you will enjoy using always. Here are some basic useful specs Focal Length35mm Angle of View63° Max Aperturef/1.8 Min Aperturef/16 Filter Size58mm
Pros: Very sharp Compact and lightweight Silent focusing Low CA Low distortion Good value
Cons: Not necessarily a great buy for a DX as you can get equal performance for less money in something built for a DX

I've had this lens for a few weeks and it seems to be a good pair with my d800. I mainly intend on using this indoors for lifestyle type shots of my family. Christmas, birthdays etc. the focal length is perfect for that purpose. I was torn between this and the sigma 35 1.4, but I'm happy wig my choice so far

Nikon introduced this lens in the last few months, so I bought it with the new Nikon D750 camera. They make a great combination, especially for low-light and street photography. It's a fine lens, not too heavy.
