About the Aiwa CDC-X204
Give your music a dose of high-powered excitement with the CDC-X204 CD receiver from Aiwa. Not only will it light up your dash with subtle blue illumination, but it comes loaded with a beefy built-in amplifier (22 watts RMS/45 peak x 4 channels) to fill your car with the kind of crisp, clean sound that you just can't get from a factory stereo.
You get a 3-band equalizer and seven preset tone curves to contour the sound to your liking, as well as Aiwa's switchable H-Bass boost to reinforce the low frequencies. Driver's Sound Stage Adjustment centers the sound automatically at either of the two front seats.
Building a bigger system? Use the CDC-X204's set of preamp outputs to connect an external amplifier. Switch the outputs to "Subwoofer" mode to activate a low-pass filter and level control, great if you're running a powered sub. The front-panel auxiliary input makes it easy to plug in your iPod, add-on satellite radio tuner, or other external source for plenty of entertainment flexibility.

Product Research
Drive S: The Drive S chassis platform is designed to resist the harsh environment of a vehicle and produce a superior signal-to-noise ratio, giving you clearer, more accurate sound.
DSSA: You can adjust the sound stage and tone balance to best serve a particular seat in the vehicle using the Driver's Sound Stage Adjustment (DSSA). The DSSA control is preset for the front left or front right seat. Once you have chosen a particular seat setting, you can further manually adjust the balance and fader settings.
Front Panel Aux Input: The CDC-X204 features a 1/8" stereo minijack on the front panel to allow you to connect a portable cassette, MiniDisc, or MP3 player. The volume of the connected auxiliary source unit can be controlled by the receiver.
Switchable Rear Preouts: This unit has one pair of preamp outputs that can be switched between "Rear" and "Subwoofer." When the preouts are switched to "Subwoofer" they are not affected by the fader control, plus you can independently select the cutoff frequency of the low-pass filter (78Hz, 125Hz, or Off), and adjust the volume of the subwoofer (+10 to -10 and Attenuate).
H-Bass: Instead of a loudness control, this unit is equipped with an H-Bass function. Conventional bass boost circuits also affect the mid-bass and midrange, resulting in a muddy, "boomy" sound. H-Bass provides true deep bass enhancement for a dynamic bottom end that does not destroy the clarity of vocals and other mid-frequency content. H-Bass enhancement can be switched on or off, and does not affect the preamp output signal when it is switched to "Sub."
Equalizer: The receiver has 7 preset equalizer curves for different music types: Hip-Hop, Vocal, Club, Jazz, Pops, Rock, and Custom. Once you have selected a preset EQ curve, you can further adjust the low (60Hz), mid (1kHz), and high (10kHz) bands from -10 dB to +10 dB.
Source Level Adjuster: The relative level of each source (FM/AM/CD/AUX) may be adjusted, from -6 dB to +6 dB in 1 dB steps, and the setting will be retained in memory. The level of each source can be set so there won't be drastic leaps in volume when changing from one source to another.
Dimmer: You can lower the brightness of the display and button illumination by switching on the dimmer in the menu. The dimmer function is controlled manually, and is not affected by the vehicle's headlight circuit.
Display Illumination/Clock Display: Pressing the Off button once will turn off audio output, but the clock display and face/button illumination remain on. This makes the clock display and face/button illumination "Keyed" instead of "Unit On" only. To turn the unit off completely, you must press the Off button for two seconds.
Note: When installing in a vehicle without an accessory power wire at the radio location, you must turn the radio completely off (this defeats keyed operation), or you may wire the accessory power wire of this radio to an alternate source of accessory power to retain keyed clock and face/button illumination operation.
