TEAC TN-4D-SE
Royal from Richmond, VA on 4/6/2023
It's been a long time since I've had a turntable. This one fits the need to listen to all my old LPs and 45's. It's an all manual that looks great. The sound quality is excellent. I'll be breaking out of storage all my old records and spending some time reminiscing the good old days.
Pros: Excellent sound
Cons: Took me awhile to setup counter weight.

Good Value
Peter from Salisbury, MD on 2/6/2023
Preface that I'm not an audiophile. Using with. Cambridge CX81 amp. Setup was relatively easy. Recommend viewing some online YouTube videos on the subject prior. The internal preamp seems pretty good and I'm very happy with the sound. I'm happy with the purchase and think this is an excellent turn table value for the price. One of the few direct drive options. quality tone arm and stylus.

This replaced a vintage Technics
Fredrik from Wallingford, CT on 2/3/2023
Coming from a 40 year old Technics that I was extremely pleased with I was looking for a similar turntable. I spent a long time searching and finally came upon this TEAC TN-4D. It was exactly what I was looking for. Straight manual, direct drive with good specs. I found the SAEC designed arm to be a bonus! While I was planning on using my vintage Shure V15 cartridges on it I found the included Sumiko Oyster cartridge to be a pleasant surprise.
Pros: Reasonable price, Good tonearm, Direct Drive, Decent included cartridge
Cons: None yet

Excellent Turntable
Robert from Peabody, MA on 11/23/2022
I am very pleased with this turntable. It has many features which I wanted including having a direct drive (versus belt-driven). I'm older and not the most techie person. The setup and balancing of the tonearm was a bit daunting for me but I followed the directions step by step and had no problems. This TEAC turntable looks great and sounds great. It's great to be listening to my vinyl LP's again. I knew I wanted to buy from Crutchfield given their knowledge and support. I highly recommend this turntable.

I don't think many people think Teac when looking for a turntable I know I hadn't considered it but I would recommend it for sure . I probably will change the stylus eventually but it doesn't sound bad as is .

Stillwater
Kevin from Stillwater on 10/1/2022
Ordered Monday, received Wednesday. Set up was straightforward, but not simple. Just follow the instructions and it will come together. I spun my copy of Hotel California.... And it was exceptional. The direct drive was silent, the sound was full and warm. I felt the Eagles were there in the room with me... Even with the included conical stylus. The piano black unit is beautiful as well. This is a turntable that belongs in a home audio system, and not in the inventory of a professional DJ.
Pros: Superb sound. Advanced technology direct drive Everything is included, except record cleaner. Integrated amplifier is switchable. MM stylus Free 2-day shipping from Crutchfield.
Cons: Completely manual operation (no auto reject, etc.)

Great Turntable
James from Ocala, FL on 3/19/2022
I went with an open box item to save a few bucks, so when it got to my house I was not surprised that there were a few small holes in the box. When I opened it up though there was another box inside that was in perfect condition, in fact it looked like it was still sealed from the factory. Good going Crutchfield! I bought this table because of the removeable head shell, it makes it so much easier to switch out cartridges that way. I was not really sure how good the Sumiko Oyster that came with the table would be, so I was already planning on replacing it. After setting the unit up and playing a few records I was surprised how much detail it brought out of the vinyl for a conical stylus. It does have more surface noise than an elliptical stylus, but it was not bad although I believe I'm still going to get a better one. Overall the Teac looks great and I love the fact that its a direct-drive table and no belt to mess with. It turns at a real constant speed and if there is any wow and flutter I sure can't tell. The only bad thing I've noticed was in the cueing lever because unlike my Project Evo where you can just give the lever a tap and it will go all the way down by itself the one on The Teac does not. It goes down far enough to play the first couple of tracks on the album ok but the inner ones it skips clean over, I thought I was having problems with the anti-skating control at first until I realized what the problem was. Now I just make sure to press the lever all th
Pros: Looks and plays real nice
Cons: Cueing lever, not really bad just takes some getting used to.
