Our take on the TEAC TN-350

I love my vinyl, but I can't exactly play it in the car, or can I? TEAC's TN-350 turntable features a dedicated USB output that lets you digitize your albums. Once you save your favorite classic grooves to your hard drive, they're ready to go with you on your smartphone or other portable listening device.

Play your vinyl, and digitize it, too

Once you save your favorite classic grooves to your hard drive, they're ready to go with you on your smartphone or other portable listening device.

The turntable itself is beautiful to look at, with a gorgeous wood finish, precision-milled aluminum controls, and a graceful S-shaped tonearm. On the practical side, the built-in switchable phono preamp allows you to connect directly to just about any amplifier or receiver.

Hear music, not noise

It's truly impressive how much clever engineering goes into something so pretty to look at. Under the turntable's polished exterior is a heavy MDF base designed to resist external vibration. Its dense die-cast aluminum platter comes with a felt mat to protect your vinyl. Its variable-speed belt-drive system isolates motor vibration, and lets you play 33-1/3 and 45 rpm discs. The curved aluminum tonearm — equipped with an Audio-Technica AT95E moving-magnet cartridge — ensures super-accurate tracking and satisfying, rich tonal accuracy.

Enjoy soulful vinyl sound with minimal setup

You want to spend as little time possible setting up your system so you can get to the joy of listening. That's why the TN-350 comes out of the box virtually ready to play. Its pre-matched, factory-mounted phono cartridge and tonearm take the guesswork out of installation, and give you optimized sound quality with minimal effort. A few simple steps to dial in key settings like tracking force and anti-skating are all it takes to get this 'table primed and ready to go.

Great turntable!!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Just what I was looking for in a turntable. Very nice unit and sounds great. I needed a built in phono preamp since my receiver did not have a phono hookup. I have yet to mess with the USB for recording purposes yet. I did purchase the extra cable to do it though. Crutchfield service is always top notch and this purchase was business as usual for these awesome professionals. Thanks guys.

Pros: Sounds great, easy to put together, and easy hookup. I was up a playing in 15 minutes.

Cons: The recommended recording software in the TEAC manual is pretty confusing. I'm no mixmaster with any sound engineering skills so it's pretty intimidating when you first open it up. I'll need some time to figure it out.

The old vinyl comes alive again!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This turntable was easy to set up. The cartridge goes on easily and setting the arm balance and anti-skate was 5 minutes tops. Hook up is simple (I have a phono-input). Hardest part was the plug--getting it to snap in, and even that is so small an issue I shouldn't even mention it. Eventually I will upgrade the cartridge but for now one of my main reasons for purchase was this has a USB port with internal pre-amp that can be switched off or on depending on your set up. I wanted to transfer my vinyl collection to my computer as easy as possible and this does it. One drawback for me was my computer is in a different room--so I have to move the turntable to the computer and with this set up I can't monitor the playback in real time. To do this use an auxiliary input on the receiver and then you can monitor through your speakers. Otherwise the results after transferring to the computer are great!

Pros: Easy set-up, switchable pre-amp, looks good!

Cons: No major cons!

Great Value for High Quality

John from Austin, TX on 9/8/2018

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased this TEAC unit after receiving and returning the similarly priced Denon and a Music Hall turntable. This turntable has a far higher build quality than the Denon and Music Hall. The sound is superior as well. I am very happy with this unit. It looks great, sounds great and was easy to set up. It is a perfect option at this price point, and the step up in quality is worth the extra money.

Pros: Quality Sound Set up

Cons: Power button placement at back of unit

2-Speed Belt Drive Turntable: The TEAC TN-350 turntable is designed for high quality playback of both LP and EP records (33-13 & 45 RPM). The TN-350's high-inertia aluminum die-cast platter is driven by a high torque DC motor via a Neoprene rubber belt that absorbs vibration to provide accurate and consistent rotation speed, while a combination of the polished spindle precisely machined from a stainless steel block and the durable bronze spindle holder maintains its accuracy for an extended period of time.

S-Shaped Tonearm: In addition to the beautifully polished aluminum die-cast platter which provides consistent speed control, the TN-350 turntable also incorporates an S-shaped tonearm that provides rock solid tracking. The S-shaped tone arm, coupled to an easily adjustable anti-skating mechanism, provides increased mass for more accurate tracking

Audio-Technica AT95E MM Cartridge: With a reputation for highly accurate reading and incredible sound reproduction the TN-350 comes complete with a AT95E VM-type MM cartridge. You will need to install the cartridge to the tonearm.

Built-in Phono Equalizer (w/ Phono & Line Output): Thanks to its built-in MM Phono equalizer amplifier, the TN-400S supports Phono or Line output which allows you to play vinyl with a stereo that is or isn't equipped with Phono input.

Gold-Plated Terminals: A pair of gold-plated RCA connectors are employed for reliable, durable connection to your receiver's Line Level or Phono input. Gold-plated terminals on the headshell connectors prevent oxidation of the head shell connectors and help to ensure years of reliable performance and to deliver stunning audio fidelity.

Not to my knowledge, though I haven't had a reason to do so. I also don't see anything about adjusting the feet in the owners manual. [ Michael  Oct 28, 2018 ]

Unfortunately it doesn't rise. Great turntable though [ Philip  Aug 29, 2018 ]
The stylus keeps following the last groove. You have to manually raise the tone arm. [ John  Aug 29, 2018 ]
The tonearm stays on the inner groove the album until you return it to its "cradle." The turntable also will remain spinning until you turn it off. [ Brad  Aug 29, 2018 ]
