About the Boston Acoustics RS 223
Boston's versatile RS 223 speaker gives you great home theater sound and flexible placement options. You can mount it on the wall next to your TV, either vertically as a left- or right-channel speaker, or horizontally as a center channel. You can also use a pair (or two) as your surround speakers for a perfectly matched system. A smooth finish and rounded corners give this speaker an elegant look.
Smart tweeter technology for accurate high-frequency detail
Boston's new 1" Extended Wide Bandwidth tweeter lets this speaker really sing with silky, clear highs. Its unusual, dimpled design stabilizes the linear motion of the tweeter for significantly lower distortion, while improving dispersion, power handling, and clarity.
Multi-composite woofers, plus advanced cabinet design
The RS 223 also features dual 3-1/2" woofers and an acoustically tuned port. These high-tech multi-composite woofers produce smooth, detailed midrange and solid midbass with minimal distortion. The smooth front baffle sports a shallow grille with magnetic attachments, a design that virtually eliminates diffraction, for a spacious soundstage and accurate imaging.
Matching subwoofer: RPS 1000.

Product Research
Overview: The Boston Acoustics Bravo II is sold as a single speaker, this allows you to use one as a center speaker (not magnetically shielded so it can't be used as a center channel with CRT/tube television), two as a pair of main or surround speakers, or a package of 3, 5, 6, or 7 in a multi-channel home theater system. The Bravo II is voice-matched to the Boston Acoustics P4 series speakers.

Driver Technology
LCR Loudspeaker: The Boston Acoustic RS 223 LCR loudspeaker can be used as a Front left/right, Center-channel, or Rear left/right speaker in a home theater speaker system.
Tightly Spaced Driver Placement: The Boston Acoustic RS 223 LCR loudspeaker utilizes tightly spaced driver placement, to allow the speaker to deliver near-point-source sonic coherence, wide dispersion, and accurate imaging.
Smart Tweeter Technology: The Boston Acoustic RS 223 LCR loudspeaker's 1.0" EWB (Extended Wide Bandwidth) tweeter features special central diaphragm termination (creating a dimple) and a rear-venting chamber to provide stabilized linear motion, lower distortion, improved dispersion, higher power handling, and increased clarity.
Multi-Composite Woofer Cone: The Boston Acoustic RS 223 LCR loudspeaker incorporates dual 3.5" Fiber Ceramic Copolymer Material (FCCM) Woofer cones made from a composite of fiber and ceramic materials impregnated in a proprietary copolymer. By combining these multi-composite cones with Boston's Deep Channel Design (DCD), the woofers produce a smooth response over the entire operating range. Deep Channel Design (DCD) provides more bass from less amplifier power.
Enclosure Design
Bass Reflex Enclosure: The Boston Acoustic RS 223 LCR loudspeaker features a bass-reflex cabinet with a front-firing port for added efficiency and bass response. The enclosure features an elegant, scratch resistant high-gloss black lacquer finish.
Super Linear Plane (SLP) Baffle: The Boston Acoustic RS 223 LCR speaker features a Super Linear Plane (SLP) Baffle which offers a smooth surface baffle with invisible hardware. The Super Linear Plane Baffle has the ability to nearly eliminate acoustic diffraction.
Magnetic Grille: The Boston Acoustic RS 223 uses a super-shallow grille with an invisible magnetic attachment to create an almost entirely seamless alignment with the baffle plane to significantly reduce sonic barriers. The magnetic super-shallow grille minimizes acoustical interference for an improved soundstage.
Connections
Binding Posts: The Boston Acoustic RS 223 is equipped with gold-plated binding posts on the back of the speaker. The binding posts will accept bare-wire, pin-connectors, and single banana-connectors.
Mounting Options
Mounting: The Boston Acoustic RS 223 can sit comfortably on a shelf, stand, or tabletop using the supplied vertical base. The RS 230 also features two rear-mounted keyhole slots, so you can easily wall-mount the speaker vertically or horizontally using two dry-wall screws (not supplied). In addition, the Boston Acoustic LCR loudspeaker features a rear-mounted 1/4"-20 threaded insert for using an optional articulating wall-mount bracket (sold separately).
Video Shielded: The Boston Acoustic RS 223 offers MagnaGuard video shielding so you can safely place the speaker next to your television without distortion or interference.
