This is probably the easiest way to connect this unit to my GM harness - easy enough to do but still required I solder all the wires from the install package to the corresponding wire on the unit's harness - not a big deal - but after it was all plugged together you have a pretty big wad of wires/connectors that need to be tucked back into the dash cavity - and no real room to get your hand back there while you're doing it so it takes a little finesse. One of the reviews I read before purchasing this unit talked about the somewhat flimsy rails to install it into a factory GM opening - I quickly saw what they were talking about but found that if you get the rear support at the right height the rails do lock into the factory slots pretty securely so it worked out.

I thought this product would have an installation kit, but did not. When it said installation package I thought that meant everything I needed would be their. The harness and antenna worked though.
