Nice Speaker
Mr K from New York on 7/19/2015
I think this is a nice speaker. Let's face it, not too many options out there for a single 4X8 stereo speaker!!! It certainly does the job. I installed in my 1978 International Harvester Scout II Terra. I had to make new holes to match up with the existing 10-24 studs welded to the back of the metal dash. This was not a big deal. The holes are just about at the edge. Make the new holes big. No need to skimp. I also removed my cardboard glove box to make the install easier. Additionally, I used a 1/4 nut and one #10 washer to stand it off the back of the dash. Between the louvers tilted in and other restrictions, there was no way it was fitting tight to the dash. Not a big deal. My head unit is a Retrosound Model 2 which I am totally obsessed with. Great head unit. Looks classic.
Pros: Good product filling a very narrow market.
Cons: Wish it had screw holes to exactly fit my IH but no big deal.

Retrosound R-48N Speaker
Ulysses from Olympia, Washington on 2/28/2015
Outstanding Speaker! After a long search to find the original 4" x 8" size speaker for my 1974 International Scout II I discovered the Retrosound R-48N speaker as the perfect match. I had to do some minor modifications to make it fit which involved drilling two holes in the top part of frame and making some notches in the bottom portion of the frame so that if fit the existing mounting screws. This 2 way speaker sounds great and is without a doubt an excellent upgrade if you want to restore your vehicle back to it's original configuration and have quality sound.
Pros: Great sound and good price.
Cons: Could use more mounting holes
