Decent sounding speaker. Biggest issue (for my Porsche 911sc) is that the mounting holes need to be drilled out since the plastic speaker rim covered part of the mounting tabs. Poor design.

Risky modification to make this fit
SB from high point, NC on 3/30/2016
First - the speakers sound good and may have been the only hope to fit into this spot.....BUT 1) The plastic spacer interfered with the holes in the metal framework.....They plastic actually covered about half of the spacing for the mounting, so I had to drill this out (and almost ruined the speakers) 2) The speakers are not quite as thin as the Blaupunkt speakers I removed --- unfortunately this seems to be true for most 5x7 speakers these days --- but my rear now has fit gaps due to having to squeeze between the rear window curve and the deck behind the rear seats...not a great look, but beats having no sound in the back. (not quite a factory fit for a 35 year old car)
Pros: They "squeezed" in and seem to be the thinnest 5x7 on the market....good sound
Cons: Had to cut away plastic to be able to use the metal tabs to mount the speakers....very risky (safety and to the product) Not quite as thin as the speakers I removed -- but tried as my last chance speaker based on Crutchfield's recommendation.

3 way speakers

2007 Mercury Montego
I have yet to install them because they came from the manufactures location and took a few more days to get to me but as soon as the weather breaks I will get right to it.
Pros:
Cons: The only thing that I was upset with was the package I received from Crutchfeild a few days earlier. It contained the two packages of wire harness(s) and the install guide. It came in a box larger then the box that the 4 speakers came in. I know a large bubble type mail envelope would have been much cheaper. I now have about a gallons worth of those styrofoam shipping peanuts and another box to break down and toss in my garbage can. What a waste of shipping material...
