Designed with your classic car in mind

RetroSound is always looking for seamless ways to retrofit new audio technology into a vintage setting. This single R-65N 6-3/4 speaker is designed to fit in the rear seat speaker location of 1958-66 Chevrolet Impala, 1963-64 Bel Air, and 1963-64 Biscayne. The woofer features dual voice coils, each one connected to its own tweeter, so, when properly connected to your receiver, you'll hear a stereo mix from this single speaker.

Modern materials for better sound

The R-65N speaker features a pulp composite cone and  woofer and a Santoprene surround that delivers accurate performance while standing up to the extreme temperature swings of life in a car. The speaker's dipcut backplate allows extended excursion for some satisfying punch, while the two Mylar dome tweeters broadcast crisp details in stereo. Finally, you'll be able to enjoy rich sound in your old gem without altering the classic look you love so much.

Grill not included; the factory grill should be suitable for most applications.

Features

Installation Applications: The R-65N will physically fit in many standard 6-3/4 applications, but it has stereo inputs and is sold as a single speaker (not a pair), so it isn't a good choice in most modern vehicles that have speakers mounted in pairs. Please check the Crutchfield Vehicle Selector to confirm compatibility with your vehicle.

Woofer: The speaker features a rigid pulp composite cone woofer with a Santoprene surround. The woofer uses a Neodymium magnet to achieve its shallow depth, so it fits in tight factory locations.

Tweeters: Two Mylar tweeters are wired separately so this single speaker will accept a stereo input.

Dual Voice Coils: The woofer has dual voice coils, each wired with one of the tweeters. The stereo input is useful in many older cars with a single speaker location in the dash or rear deck. If used in a standard two speaker application the inputs should be wired in parallel (to present a 2Ω load) or series (to present an 8Ω load).
