Bass in limited space

The injected polypropylene/mica cone will handle the lows without complaint, while the Santoprene surround helps control the cone and minimizes resonance. A rigid cast-aluminum basket creates a rock-solid housing for the sub, with plenty of venting to help keep heat down. The speaker will work in enclosures ranging from .12 to 1.0 cubic foot, so you can have your bass and fit it, too.

Much crisper than oem pioneer sub. Retrosound makes modern electronics that have a vintage appearance. I was searching for a 2 ohm ,single voice coil 8" sub, crutchfield and retrosound delivered

Pros: Shallow. Power and quality at a reasonable price.

Cons: None

PLEASE SEE MY JL SUB REVEIW ALSO. I originally purchased a JL Sub fo replace my aging OEM sub in my 2007 Toyota Tundra dbl cab w/JBL NAV system. The JL was awesome, but the wrong OHM rateing for my trucks system. The JL was a 4 OHM, and my system is 2 OHM. The difference made it hard for me to set my tone levels for all music. After talking w/Hank at Crutchfeild, we determined the problem was the OHM rating difference. Because Crutchfield has a 60 day return/exchange policy, I decided to shop again for a 2 OHM. I chose the RetroSound because of it's shallow depth top mount, I had very limited space to work with, and had to modifie the stock bass box for the JL to fit. The RetroSound is supwer shallow. Fit perfectly in the factory bass box with littl modification. PERFORMANCE> This speaker does the job! It sounds a lot better than the stock bass ever did, and delivers a broader bass sound, lending itself to not just a bass drum, but a guitar bass as well. It does not have the same kind of solid tight sub bass that the JL delivered, but it also is not rated the same. It is rated more sensative than the JL however. Overall, It delivers what I wanted. A set it, and forget it bass. It performs great with all music.

Pros: Shallow mount, great full bodied bass.

Cons: Not as crisp as the JL.

Shallow mount perfect for OEM replacement. Great sound - no distortion

Pros: Retrosound subwoofer Is a great replacement for the OEM sub. Handles the low rangewith ease. More than enough watt capacity to handle the output from the factory radio.

Cons: Needed to modify the subwoofer box to fit. Trimming the opening to recess the speaker to fit like the OEM sub took patience to size correctly. Used a dremel with a cutting blade was all that was needed to do the job.

First the raw driver is 5 stars. Working with in the confines of an OEM system and enclosure required minor mods to the enclosure and wiring. Sounds much better than the OEM driver and should outlast the driver GM decided to use.

Pros: Shallow design fit my stock enclosure with minor modifications to vehicle.

Cons: Had to modify wiring to accommodate screws vice OEM lugs.
