Dual SL55A

Crutchfield customer from Renton, WA on 6/23/2017

Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

I tried Dual Mirroring this cable with around 7 phones with no luck. Here is the answer from Axxera tech: So the note 3 uses the 11 pin connector and I see you have the 5 pin connector. You should swap that SL55A cable out for the SL113A or the SL115A. Both of these use 11 pins and without these cables the function will not work. Thank you and please let us know if you have any further questions.

Pros: none

Cons: Does not work with latest phones

Not For A Galaxy S7!

Robert from Denver, CO on 11/2/2016

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

Very well made and I am sure it is great for most phones. However, if you have a Galaxy S7 don't waste your money on this cable as it will trip the "moisture detected in the charging port" protection on the phone, rendering the cable useless.

Pros: Well made

Cons: Not compatible with Galaxy S7 moisture protection

Crutchfield response on 11/15/2016
Once we saw this review, our Tech Support team reached out to Robert to issue an apology and help him further. We'll either help him get the cable working the way it should, or help him return it for an exchange or refund.

Features

Micro-USB 5-Pin to HDMI/USB Cable: The Dual SL55A is a micro-USB 5-pin to HDMI/USB cable which allows you to connect your MHL-enabled Android smartphone device with a 5-pin microUSB port (such as the Galaxy S II) to your home and car audio/video components equipped with an HDMI input and USB type-A port. Through its full-size HDMI connector, the  SL55A cable supports 1080p video and 2ch audio. The SL55A will also charge your MHL-enabled Android smartphone via its USB type-A connector. Because the USB connector pig-tails from the HDMI connector, your home or car audio component's HDMI and USB input must be less than 3" apart. The total length of the cable is 5'.

Customer Q&A

Q
Crutchfield asked: Why did you buy this?
A
My old phone was a Galaxy S5 and I just replaced it with a Galaxy S7. The S5 uses a Micro USB 3.0 connector whereas the S7 uses a Micro USB 2.0 connector. [ Robert  Sep 26, 2016 ]

Does this work with Galaxy S6?

A
Sorry, no. Samsung has not supported MHL since the Galaxy S4.

Q
Is there a dual connector for a usb-c that my Nexus 6p uses?
[ Rob  Feb 19, 2018 ]
1 answer
A
There is not, no. Aside from the connector type you require, the phone itself needs to support MHL for the HDMI connectivity to work and the Nexus 6p does not support MHL. I'm sorry I don't have better news for you there.

I have got the SL113A cable and it doesn't seem to be working with my note 5. Any other options?

it didn't work for my LG G4 either. you probably need a USB to HDMI MHL adapter.
[ Eric  Aug 14, 2016 ]
A
You have to buy the wireless dongle for use with all Samsung products. They updated the operating system to the Mirrorlink and moved away from MHL to sell more of their TVs.
[ Corey  Jun 06, 2016 ]
A
The Dual SL113A is a micro-USB 11-pin to HDMI/USB cable which is designed to work with the MHL-enabled smartphones that use an 11-pin connection (such as the the Galaxy S3/S4/S5 or Galaxy Note II/III/IV). The MHL website doesn't list the Note 5 model as an MHL-enabled phone, so it doesn't appear that any of the MHL microUSB to HDMI cables would work for your application. Q
Will this product work with my Google Nexus 5 smartphone?
[ Jason  May 22, 2014 ]
1 answer
A
You will want to contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss compatibility with your Nexus 5 smartphone. They will be able to pull up your phone and see if this will integrate. If it does not, then they will also be able to discuss other options with you.
