A touchscreen that won't break the bank
If you've got the space in your dash, why not fill it with a big screen? Dual's XDVD3201 DVD receiver plays DVDs while you're parked, then becomes your touchscreen commander when you're on the road.

Tap your way through all your tunes
iPod® and iPhone® lovers, all you have to do is plug in your player to the XDVD3201's rear USB input, and you can tap your way through your music library as you see plenty of song info on the 6.2" screen. And if you don't have an iPod, no big deal — you can load up an SD™ card or a USB thumb drive with tunes, too.

Ready to grow with you
Are you planning a system? Dual gives you three sets of preamp outputs that'll make it easier to add amps and subs. You'll also find video outputs so you can hook up video screens in the back seat for your passengers to enjoy. A handy rear-camera input lets you connect a backup camera so you can park in tight spaces with confidence. And a handy front-panel audio/video input handles just about any other source that might come down the pike.

Want to keep your steering wheel controls?
In most vehicles, you can use an adapter (not included) to connect your vehicle's steering wheel controls to this Dual stereo. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and the XDVD3201, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls. Check the "Accessories" tab for compatible adapters.

    Updating Honda Stereo

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this stereo to update my 05 Honda Accord. I am very happy with the product for the amount I paid. I had a question about connecting the park brake wire the radio needs to play video, and a call to Crutchfield customer service was all it took. The CSR even emailed me a photo I needed and I had gotten the email before we were off the phone.

Pros: Good Sound Easy to use

Cons: Only one USB input. Does not display special characters in the file names or iPod lists. (Mötley Crüe, Beyoncé, etc)

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The unit overall is ok but if I was doing it again would ensure the outputs were more up to date, ie this unit is solely aimed at video with audio being a secondary focus.

Pros: inexpensive with decent picture for the price

Cons: Unit does not fit and the kit included does not help.. The directions to make it fit are bad. Because the unit is mainly video focused its outputs do not work with an audio out cable without wiggling it to make connections. If I had it to do over this would not be my choice additionally this unit was two years old and that was not evident when I ordered it, that would have impacted my choice.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is a nice head unit for the price everything performs as I expected except the fm radio lacks in quality the stock stereo picked up my local and not so local stations with ease but this head unit hardly picks up my local which are about 20 miles away... Other then that I like it...

    Pros: Value

    Cons: Fm stereo

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

At first I was a little scheptical of the brand name, but after having great luck with a couple Dual brand amplifiers, I thougt I'd give it a try. It turns out to be a nice, feature packed unit.

Pros: Easy to use controls. Several inputs and outputs. A backup camera was a snap to hook up to this unit.

Cons: Can't really think of any cons right off. You get more than you pay for with this one.

    Great Screen for the Price

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great Unit for the Price. Has awesome connectivity and expandability. Can connect a rear view camera, ipod, usb, play dvd's, the whole 9!

Pros: Easy to use, Sound quality, Picture quality, Connectivity, Expandability

Cons: Screen freezes at times. Just need to turn it off and back on and it goes away. Kind of annoying when it happens, but doesn't happen all the time

    Good but flawed shuffle

    2005 Volkswagen Touareg
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Good unit, sounds good, Plenty of power. Front card SD. Graphics are OK, but counter-intuitive and look "old" to modern interfaces. Biggest beef is the shuffle/randon function is not random... same songs in the same order. Can manually jump to another song way down list, and will do better, but will get stuck once back in the same general area.

Pros: Good unit, sounds good, Plenty of power. Front card SD.

    Cons: Not Random

    Not a bad unit.

    2002 Nissan Xterra
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I was looking for a new unit after my factory Xterra's 6 disc changer ate two of my CD's. After looking on this website for a few days I decided to get the Dual. I was blown away with the sound quality I was getting compared to the factory unit and was made by Fosgate. I also bought Kicker's to replace the stock speakers. If your looking for a budget car DVD player don't pass this one up. It works better than you might think.

Pros: Price, ease of use and decent sound to factory speakers.

Cons: Could use more features such as displaying album art. I that would add more coolness to the unit.

Eric Y from Denver, Co on 9/8/2012

    2007 Nissan Altima
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is a great entry level unit that will provide you with a touch screen and the ability to play your Mp3 files. Crutchfield tech support was quite helpful in answering questions and saved me some time by making sure I hooked up my Fm antenna correctly with the adaptor for my nissian. They supplied all the necessary parts from face plate (looks almost good as stock perfect fit BTW) wiring harness and fm adaptor at no additional cost plus they even gave me printed instructions easy install thanks to all this. I would suggest skipping there wiring nuts they are just plastic retention rings with a small metal band I ended up pitching these in the trash and solder it the old fashioned way. Since I could pull the nuts off with my bare hands 99 cents gone no loss though. As for the the video lock out easy fix just think about it I am sure a Toggle switch will go off in your mind and find you the work around for that problem. I will always come here for future purchases for any car stereo stuff or maybe even some of the other equipment they sell great prices good customer service a win win plus many bonus equipment to get the job done usually for free. Another con is that this unit will NOT play movies from the SD card slot only from the dvd player or from an external PMP like my cowon which it does a great job I can use the rear inputs (provided with the unit) or the front audio input jack (cables included for this too) IN short a great starter unit to get the job done.

Pros: 1. Touch Screen that is no glare (huge plus) 2. Mp3 playback (even though my album art does not show up) 3. plays dvd's and allows you to hook up external devices such as a PMP or game console ect (even includes the necessary input cables) 4. Physical controls for volume, Mute and eject + power. Con it does not have any for FF or Rew or skip buttons but the touch screen does these things 5. Has option (night Mode) to turn off screen at night while music still plays

Cons: The biggest one is no GENERE Support no I can't believe that either but it does not so two Choices one you can just play one folder at a time or two dump all your files in one folder so you can hear all your songs not just one band at a time ps this means that it sees the file name like a computer does the outside name not the one embedded in the music. yes it can take up to a 16gig card but it has a 2000 file limit (including folders) so really at best about 9gigs meaning get an 8 gig card.

    I'd stay away.

Headunit is ok. I've had it in for a week and it's already glitching and freezing on me. I'm gonna see if I can return it and switch to a different brand. If your looking for a cheap headunit it's not bad until it freezes. I'd try looking at another headunit for a few more bucks.

Pros: Easy install iPod navigation Slim and low profile

Cons: Clunky ui Freezes Graphics could use some work

    Nice head unit

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Nice little entry level DVD Head unit. Takes appox 10 secs to load a disc, which is annoying. Lots of options, and easy to navigate. The Parking Brake lockout is VERY annoying. The parking brake wire to hook it to is not in the factory harness, and very hard to get to. Of course, one would need to abide by local laws regarding watching DVDs while driving. Makes factory speakers sound nice. Very good display.

Pros: Nice display, Ease of use. options to add accessories. Remote included.

Cons: Load time is annoying, parking brake lockout is troublesome. Sub out hookup is crappy.

CEA2006 Compliant: The power specifications for the XDVD3201 are compliant with the CEA2006 Mobile Amplifier Power Testing and Measurement standards from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). These standards were developed as a way to equitably compare power specs from model to model and between manufacturers. The power output specs for the XDVD3201 are as follows:

    • CEA2006 Specs: 18 watts RMS x 4 channels (at 4 ohms, 20Hz-20kHz, 1% THD-N)
    • Maximum Power Output: 60 watts x 4 channels (240 watts total)

    • Treble: select from 10khz, 12.5kHz, 15kHz, or 17.5kHz

Loudness: The Loudness function enhances the bass & treble frequencies at low volumes.

AM/FM Tuner: The Dual XDVD3201 features a built-in AM/FM tuner with manual, seek, scan, and preset tuning.

Preset Tuning: The built-in AM/FM tuner allows you to store up to 18 FM station presets and 18 AM station presets. You can tune your presets manually or have the head unit do it automatically.

Preset Scan: You can scan all your stored preset stations and listen to the first 10 seconds of each.

MP3/WMA Playback: The XDVD3201 can play MP3/WMA audio files that have been recorded on CD-R/CD-RW, DVD-R/RW, or DVD+R/RW discs, as well as SD/SDHC memory cards. The files must be recorded in ISO 9660 Level 1 or 2, or Joliet file format. Compatible bit rates are 8-320 kbps for MP3, and 32-192 kbps for WMA. Recorded discs and SD-cards can have up to 2,000 files and 200 folders. The head unit will display MP3 ID3 Tag and WMA Tag information.

iPod/iPhone Connectivity: The Dual XDVD3201 supports audio/video playback from select Apple iPods and iPhones. The Dual XDVD3201's rear-panel USB (type-A) port and rear-panel composite video input allow you to connect your Apple iPod/iPhone using the Dual's IPV40 iPod cable (070IPV40, sold separately). Video can only be displayed while the vehicle is in park. AV Connections

Dual A/V Inputs: The Dual XDVD3201 DVD receiver is fitted with two audio/video inputs. The unit features a front-panel 3.5mm audio/video input on the front panel of the head unit for connecting a temporary external A/V source, such as a game console.  The head unit also features a composite video/stereo audio RCA input on the rear panel for connecting a permanent external A/V source, such as a Blu-ray player or mobile ATSC tuner.

Note: This rear-panel composite video input also serves as the A/V input for your USB-connected iPod (using proprietary Dual cable).

Dual Video Outputs: The two rear-panel composite video outputs allow you to connect optional external monitors. You can watch the same audio/video source that is being played on the DVD receiver on your connected external monitors.

Camera Input: The unit features a composite video input for connecting an optional rear view camera (sold separately). The video from this connection can be set to display when switched to this input, or display the rear view camera video automatically when the vehicle is shifted into Reverse gear. The white/brown wire (within 16-pin harness) must be connected to the vehicle's reverse lamp circuit for automatic video switching. Automatic video switching takes approximately 2.8 seconds. The camera image can be set to Normal or Mirrored.

Note: Audio from your music source will continue playing, while the back-up camera is displayed.

    Remote Control

Wireless Remote Control: In addition to the unit's touch-screen panel and hard-key controls, the XDVD3201 also comes supplied with a full-functioning IR wireless remote control for convenient operation.

Steering Wheel Remote Compatibility: The head unit features an OEM steering wheel remote control input on the rear of the unit to allow you to keep your vehicle's radio steering wheel remote controls when used with the optional PAC SWI-RC Steering Wheel Control Interface Adapter (541SWIRC, sold separately); or the optional Metra ASWC Steering Wheel Control Interface Adapter (120ASWC, sold separately).

They verify what’s in the box, check the owner's manual, and record dimensions, features and specs. We stay on top of new products and technologies to help people make informed choices.
