Extra secure way to connect speaker wires inside doors. The heat shrink seal protects the connection from moisture inside the door.
Pros: Inexpensive and easy to use with simple tools. You just need a crimper/cutter/wire stripper tool and a hair dryer.

What can be said for a butt connector? Well, these ARE better than the norm. No slipping of the crimp, missing, and cutting plastic anymore. The contours make for easy one-hand crimps in tight spaces.

Unless you own a heat gun, this product is hard to work with. This item was recommended for me to buy by the salesman on the phone, and although it wasn't an expensive accessory to the item I purchased, it was unnecessary.

These heat shrink butt connectors are of great quality and the price was excellent. Hard to find good quality electrical connectors at the local parts house or hardware store. They crimp well and provide a water proof sealed connection for a great price.

Quality Crimps for Automotive Wiring

Great value pack of quality butt-splices. These are designed for use with automotive wiring in the 18-22 awg range - great for mechanical crimp splicing work. Good qty and at a great price... Not easy to source these locally since Radio Shack went under... I do wish that Crutchfield carried the Posi-Tap brand of line tap adapters, which let you "tap" a line without cutting it - they have become increasinging hard to source locally as well as the solder based crimpless butt splices - would've bought those too...

Cons: Sometimes the amount of heat required to shrink activate the seal also melts the insulation on the wiring, especially on 22-24 awg wires...

Cheap and easy to use. I was able to attach the vehicle wiring adapter to the head unit wiring harness quickly and securely prior to installing it in my car.
