Running new speaker wires? These gold-plated wiring terminals from Accele will provide neat and reliable connections for your amplifier. The package contains four crimp-on spade connectors for attaching 12- to 16-gauge speaker wire to your amplifier's screw-down output terminals. Available with black or red soft PVC insulation for easy identification. Warranty: 60 days.

What is the outside width of the spade/forks?

Measuring a terminal I have, the outside width is .316" which is basically 5/16". Also, FYI, the slot in the tab measures .166" wide. This will fit up to a #8 Machine Screw. The material thickness measures .036" which is basically 1/32".

No. That rubber wont come off and it will make for poor connections if you solder over it.

Yes ... slide the boot down and solder your connection then slide boot up to cover the joint .
