Product Research

Rearview Camera: The Accele RVCLPMS Rearview Camera is designed to provide you a clear wide-angle view from the rear of your vehicle. It can be used to assist you in backing up the vehicle, or to keep an eye on an item you are towing. It can be connected to a separate rear-view monitor or to many in-dash receivers with a composite video camera input.

Note: This camera is meant as a visual aid only; never solely rely on the camera. In addition to using the camera, always physically look to make sure everything is clear around your vehicle.

Compatibility: The Accele RVCLPMS rearview camera features a standard composite video output (RCA plug) which makes it compatible with virtually any mobile video monitor featuring a composite video camera input.

Color CCD: The RVCLPMS' rearview camera features a color CCD image sensor with a 960p resolution. The rearview camera offers a 170° vertical and horizontal viewing angle providing an excellent field of vision behind you in your vehicle. The rearview camera provides minimum illumination 0.1 lux.

Parking Guidelines: The camera features a three-color grid to assist you in backing into a parking space. The grid features green, yellow, and red lines to help you determine how close you are to an obstacle. You can cut the thin white wire loop to turn off this feature.

Mounting Bracket: The RVCLPMS attaches to your vehicle's existing license plate frame with its integrated metal mounting bracket (screws not included). The camera can be angled up or down after it is installed. Make sure the sticker (labeled "Up") on the back of rearview camera bracket is facing the correction direction for proper viewing image orientation (otherwise, the viewing image will be upside down).

Wiring: The rearview camera features an attached 2' power/signal cable which connects to the supplied 22' composite video cable and 3' power/ground cable. The composite video cable is then routed from outside of the vehicle through your vehicle's interior to your vehicle's display monitor or optional stand-alone monitor. The power (red) & ground (black) wires will need to be hardwired. Power can be obtained from your vehicle's reverse light circuit or from the reverse gear wire of your aftermarket stereo (if applicable). The ground will need to connected to your vehicle's metal chassis.

My camera doesnt rotate. Does it lock in place somehow? Whats the trick to getting it to rotate down so i can point it to make my hitch visible?

There are two screws on the bottom of the mounting bar on each side of the camera. Loosen them and the camera will rotate. Tighten them when the camera is pointed correctly.

Mine would turn up and down.

On Crutchfield's product page, there is a downloadable owners manual that shows that there are two small adjustment screws on the bottom, at either side of the camera assembly. Loosen them a turn, adjust the camera, then tighten them back to to lock in the desired positioning.
[ Robert C.  Feb 09, 2021 ]
The two screws on the underside adjacent to the camera are the adjustment screws. Loosen them a bit and it should rotate freely. Yeah nice it's how you like, snug them back up and you're good to go

Will this work Ford my touch ?
[ Joseph  Dec 31, 2020 ]

This camera works with aftermarket radios. It will not work with a Ford factory radio. We may have other cameras that can work with the stock radio. I recommend contacting an advisor by calling 1-800-324-9695 to discuss the specifics on your Ford vehicle to check for options

I there a way to hide wiring without cutting into the bumper?
[ Markus  Aug 16, 2020 ]

Depends on your application. The good thing for my install is the wiring comes from the top of the camera. I was able to drop the wiring over the top of the bumper and you can only see a 1/2 inch of wiring!

My bumper already had a hole for the wires but since it goes over your license plate you could maybe try hiding it behind the plate or running it through the screw hole for your plate. Sorry I couldn't be more of a help!!
