2005 Lincoln LS
I put these in the two rear doors of my 2005 Lincoln LS. These are outstanding. The sound is crisp with good bass and no distortion at loud volumes. They complement well the audio frog I have in the two front doors.
Pros: Quality of build and quality of sound.
Cons: Higher price than many speakers this size.

Open Box Fail

**Open Box Item** Sadly, 1 of the 5x7 speaker midrange woofer has significant distortion during playback. Thought maybe it was a wiring issue, swapped out to the 2nd speaker- no problems. Reconnected 1st, crappy sound. Called Crutchfield immediately and they sent out a new box item for me to swap out the 1 speaker. Few days later, new set came in, swapped & installed without any issues.
Pros:
Cons: Buyer Beware! Crutchfield paints a pretty picture on their video about open box, scratch & dent items... the technician should have caught the poor quality sound during their testing as the video instructed. If all they did was connect to a house stereo I'm sure it would sound ok- tweeter wise, but put it on an amplifier- they should've junked it! Don't think I'd waste my time again with ever buying any used stuff from Crutchfield again. Waste of time and no quality assurance in place.

Short Life Span

I've had these in my truck for a few years. The truck isn't a primary vehicle so it gets minimal use. The passenger side surround is shredded, completely falling apart. The drivers side still looks like new, as do the alpines in the rear. No idea why the one speaker failed, they don't get pounded or abused. They sounded amazing when I first got them but that was short lived. I won't be replacing them with Focals.
Pros: Amazing sound, easy installation
Cons: Right speaker fell apart and surround is no longer attached. Left speaker still looks brand new. Maybe I just got a bad speaker but is it worth the gamble?

Great speakers, awesome sound for a speaker this size. Paired with a small sub and rear speakers in my F350 crew cab, sounds great. Can't handle the LOUD stereo's anymore. This is a perfect compromise.

These speakers sound great. I used these for the rear speakers in my 2001 superduty 7.3. I'm running an MB quart amp to power all four speakers (fronts are Focal ISS's) sounds clean and seems to hit a wide range of frequencies very nicely. I ran medialbridge 14awg OFC speaker wire to all four speakers and it turned out pretty nice all around.

These speakers just look, feel, and sound like quality. Speakers are very loud off the aftermarket stereo I have and very clear as well. Also very easy to install for the rear doors of my 1999 Ford explorer.
Pros: Great mids good lows and decent highs. Easy installation
Cons: Decent highs

I have these speakers in my back doors and focal ps 130s in front doors with a rockford fosgate 400/4 amp. They will bang and they sound great! I had memphis and boston, the focal sound better especially at high volume, they overpower my 2 10 inch rockford fosgate subs. I have to keep turning them up with the remote gain. Very impressed with focal!!!

Focal delivers again!

1989 Chevrolet G Series
I can't seem to find a genre of music these speakers can't handle darn well, everything from KMFDM and Rammstein to the Princess Mononoke soundtrack. I have these installed on the dashboard of a 1989 Chevy conversion van along with a Pioneer subwoofer and 165 Access speakers in the rear ceiling. They help make interstate road trips a heck of a lot more fun. Smooth, detailed treble that was comfortable to listen to for hours on end and a solid midrange that made vocals distinct and easily distinguishable. Not as muscular in the low end as the round 165s in back, but perhaps that's to be expected. The bass is still competent and blends with the sub well. Overall, very very pleased with the Access series.
Pros: Detail, bass is good for this size, treble is good for any size.
Cons: If you're seriously interested in a lot of midbass strength, move up to the 6x9 version. Custom installations aren't all THAT hard...(and may I interest you in a bridge for sale?)

I love these speakers because they get loud and sound beautiful. The lows mids and highs are good. I have them running off of a kenwood kdc 597 and they sound pretty good. Thats a great radio by the way. But i can hear instruments that i couldnt hear in my other speakers. I was a little amazed. Crutchfield said these wouldnt fit in my 97 mercury grand marquis but they fit just fine in the front doors. This was a great purchase and i love focal now
