Overview: Focal's Clear Mg Professional open-back over-ear headphones is a pro version of the original Clear Mg introduced in Spring 2021. Using many of the same exclusive Focal technologies and craftsmanship, Clear MG Pro delivers precise sound and detail throughout the full frequency range. The headphones have a new 40mm M-shaped Magnesium (Mg) inverted dome driver and an open design. Clear Mg Professional comes with two cables (straight and coiled), extra ear cushions, and a matching rigid zippered carrying case.

Open Headphone Design: Focal decided that the best way to deliver all of Clear Mg Pro's performance was to utilize a fully open headphone design to totally decompress the loudspeakers. The open design provides the lowest possible acoustic impedance to reproducing accurate and detailed bass frequencies, and gives you an extremely natural listening experience. The newly-designed honeycomb grill on the outside of each earcup has more openings to amplify the soundstage image and the spaciousness of the sound.

Drivers: Clear Mg Professional features new large 40mm full-range magnesium, "M"-profile inverted dome drivers. Magnesium is lightweight and highly rigid, with excellent damping properties. The unique shape of the drivers is the same as the ones used in Focal's flagship Utopia, offering high quality sound and blocking distortion. The speakers are angled directly toward your ear canals to allow you to hear details in your music that you haven't heard before, with great dynamics and depth. The drivers are protected by a honeycomb internal grille with an M-shape that mirrors the curvature of the cone.

Break-in Period: Focal recommends a break-in (or "running-in") period to stabilize the speaker drivers and ensure the best possible performance in the headphones. This can be done naturally after several hours of listening time. If you'd like to speed up the break-in process, you can play very bassy music through the headphones at a relatively high volume level for over 24-hours.

Ear Cups: The plush (20mm thick) circum-aural (over-ear) memory foam ear cushions are covered with perforated microfiber fabric. Hundreds of 1 millimeter diameter micro-perforations surround the ear cups to provide the sensation of openness that you would have when listening in a room, instead of headphones. The ear cushions are replaceable, and a spare set is included in the box. Clear Mg Professional features a specially designed solid aluminum yoke that is lightweight and molded to follow the curves of your face. The plush, padded headband is covered with luxurious leather and perforated microfiber for maximum comfort.

Cables: Clear Mg Professional comes with two interchangeable 24-gauge OFC copper cables for maximum signal transfer. One cable is 47" (1.2m) in length with a stereo 3.5mm plug for use with high-end portable music players and other devices. A screw-type 3.5mm-to-1/4" adapter is included for use with your home components and pro audio gear. Also included is a 16.5' (5m) coiled cable with a 1/4" connector. Both cables have dual 3.5mm plugs that maintain a secure connection to each ear cup.
