Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
It's about as good as a sound bar can be, I think. Good sound, does the trick

Focal makes some fantastic car and home audio speakers, so we were quite excited to see them design their first sound bar — the Dimension. Not surprisingly, they hit it out of the park. How does the Focal Dimension offer such engaging, enveloping sound? Two simple ingredients: really good speakers and sophistical digital processing. Together, they create a soundstage that's wide and deep, so more seating positions get an involving multichannel experience with movies and dynamic sound with music.
The Focal Dimension sound bar's five speakers deliver enthralling sound across a wide listening area.
The Dimension sound bar's five built-in speakers were inspired by Focal's high-performance car speakers. They designed a speaker that was relatively flat with deep bass response and a wide dispersion pattern. These drivers were perfect for a thin sound bar that could project sound across a large listening area and deliver impressive bass response. The drivers were further refined and augmented with side-panel ports for enhanced bass response. Focal also developed advanced digital signal processing to deliver a realistic multichannel experience. How good does it sound? Good enough to earn a prestigious 2014-15 European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) award for best home theater sound bar.
What else do we love about the Focal Dimension sound bar? HDMI connectivity offers Dolby and DTS processing, for true 5.1-channel home theater sound. HDMI also lets you control the system and your TV with a single remote. It can also receive audio coming from your compatible TV's tuner with the Audio Return Channel (ARC) feature. A cool touchscreen display offers volume and source control. It only lights up when it senses hand-motion in front of it or a command from the remote control. There are also four switches on the sound bar's rear panel that allow you to optimize the sound based on your room and setup. Just a few simple selections and this system will be enveloping your couch or comfy chair in rich, robust sound.

I was.. quite skeptical about getting this piece. Especially from there, Scratch and Dent Department. Well, not only was the product simply smashing to look at. The sound that this bar produces, is literally second to none! I myself, can't speak highly enough about it. And, the tech support team was there the whole way to make sure I was getting the best possible sound. Crutchfield to me, is a class act.
Pros: Amazing Sound. Incredible Looks.
Cons: Not One.
The Focal Dimension is a great sounding unit. The sound stage is great and the clarity and depth are wonderful. I compared the Focal Dimension and the Definitive Technology W studio in my home. Both sound bars sounded great but the Focal was better. The Focal has a better sound stage and more open sound. Music is fantastic. Movies are great as well though you don't get the effect of a full home theater system with rear speakers. I paired the Focal with a Definitive Technology Pro Sub 800. This is a wired connection. This set up provides great sound for both music and movies. For the price the combination of the Focal Dimension and the Definitive Technology Pro Sub 800 create a very enjoyable system for both music and movies. I highly recommend this sound bar.
Pros: Sound is fantastic Looks great on the wall and easy to mount Easy to set up and use
Cons: No bluetooth Not many HDMI inputs
I've had The sound bar in use with my 55 inch 4K television about two weeks now and it does a great job. As most Focal Products go build quality is very solid. Sound quality (For a sound bar) Is very good. Good bass if mounted properly without a sub but at this quality you need a good subwoofer. Then shines with music. It is very quiet with the optical and Active sub level out connections Even at Highest volume setting. My reviews are based on the newer price range in the 500 or lower range. I've had others in this price range and they all sound harsh and thin. I wish they had a better quality remote control. Mine has the newer designed remote but it is still very poorly designed and a little hard to use. Looking to see if other offerings for a after market remote option will work. A good bargain (if you want to pay at this price point). Hard to beat if you can deal with the cheap remote control. And it's a good unit for near Field music listening. Don't compare it to the $1500-2500 Dolby atmos units for 2018. Only reason I'm writing it out of four is because of the remote and new designs are coming into play for 2018. Course at a much higher price.
Pros: Sound bar sounds really good for near field music. OK surroundsound. I like the adjustments for room and surround settings and for sub control. Decent bass with no sub woofer @ mid level volumes. Does real well with an active powered sub woofer of quality. Build quality is very good except for remote.
Cons: The remote control! Performs like it was designed and manufactured in a foreign country. A better remote is highly recommended.
I literally sat and listened to 3 hours worth of my favorite music when I inboxed this thing; I was hearing new details I'd never heard before. It's crystal clear with no muddy mids. The treble isn't harsh at all, just crisp. And the lows are adequate down to around 100hz I'd guesstimate. I hooked up a not-so-expensive powered sub to catch anything below 90hz, and that seems to be where the sweet spot is. If you're looking for an excellent sounding, powerful, and elegant looking soundbar, look no further. But if you want one that'll throw "surround" sound around the room, the Dimension won't really cut it. But who gets a soundbar for surround sound? That being said, although movies sound great and benefit from the crisp sound quality, these speakers shine brightest when playing music. Consider this your new main-room stereo
Pros: Amazing Sound. Individually-Amped speakers make for clear, powerful sound. Looks great. Simple set-up and remote. Includes wall-mount.
Cons: The power supply brick is the size of an actual brick.
The minute I heard the speaker, I was blown away by the clarity and power of this speaker. The bass is super responsive and tight. Does TV, music, and movies beautifully. I did have to get a new TV stand because the speaker is 4.5 inches tall and would block the bottom of my TV. However, it is on it's separate shelf just below the TV and looks amazing. This is a BIG speaker and the sound shows.

5-Channel Speaker Array: The Focal Dimension active soundbar speaker features five 3.9375" full-range drivers for natural, dynamic, and high-definition audio. Two of the drivers are dedicated to the front channels and two drivers dedicated to the rear channels, as well as one driver dedicated to the center channel for 5-channel surround sound from a single soundbar speaker.
6-Channel Amplifier: Each driver of the Focal Dimension soundbar speaker is driven by 75 watts of peak power. There is also a dedicated 75 watt channel for connection of Focal's passive subwoofer (sold separately).
High Performance DSP: The 4th generation Sharc 32-bit/40-bit floating point DSP utilized by the Focal Dimension soundbar speaker is optimized for high-performance audio signal processing. Its processing capacity is able to control the balance of frequency response with distortion free sound at high volume levels, plus spacious imaging and virtual surround sound from a single soundbar speaker.
Aluminum Bass Reflex Cabinet: The soundbar speaker features an ultra-rigid aluminum enclosure that incorporates side-firing bass ports for greater efficiency and bigger bass response without resonance or distortion.
HDMI 1.4: The Focal Dimension soundbar speaker system features a single HDMI 1.4 input and one HDMI 1.4 output. The HDMI jacks support 1080p pass-through, 3D video, Dolby Digital/DTS 5.1ch audio. The HDMI output also supports ARC.
Note: Because with most televisions, the ARC-enabled HDMI input will only pass 2ch PCM from devices connected to the TV via HDMI or analog, we recommend that you connect your Blu-ray/DVD player or Satellite/Cable box to the Focal Dimension's HDMI input directly; and then connect the Dimension's ARC-enabled HDMI output to your TV's ARC-enabled HDMI input. This setup will give you with the best overall sound performance.
Digital + Analog Audio Inputs: In addition to HDMI connectivity, the Focal soundbar speaker system is equipped with one analog input (3.5mm minijack) and one optical (toslink) digital audio input. The optical digital input supports up to 5.1ch multi-channel audio.
Note: The digital optical output terminals of most newer flat-panel TVs only send an audio signal in 5.1ch when receiving Dolby Digital/DTS surround sound from the TV's built-in tuner, network connection, or connected USB device; and will output only 2ch stereo from sources connected to the TV via HDMI, or RCA (like your Blue-ray/DVD player or satellite/cable box).
Optional Bluetooth Receiver: The Focal Universal Wireless Receiver (091APTXBT, sold separately) enables wireless connection of your Bluetooth-enabled devices (such as your Apple iPod/iPhone/iPad, Android smartphone/tablet, or laptop/computer) to your Focal Dimension soundbar. The Bluetooth receiver will plug into the soundbar's Aux input.
Room Equalization: The quality of the surround sound depends on the room's acoustics and on the acoustic properties of the room's materials. You can adjust the soundbar speaker's Room EQ based on how reflective your room is, taking into account whether your room has plaster or brick walls, if the walls are covered with fabric or curtains, if there are windows or other glass surfaces, if you have carpeted or hardwood floors, and if you have a lot of furniture in the room.
Audio Adjustments: The Focal soundbar speaker system offers a variety of audio settings to improve your listening experience.
Sub Output: The Dimension soundbar speaker is fitted with a mono-RCA subwoofer output for connection to an external powered subwoofer (sold separately). The subwoofer output is full-range, so you'll need to use the lowpass crossover setting in your powered sub.
Controls: The Focal Dimension soundbar speaker system includes front-panel touch-sensitive controls and an IR wireless remote control for simple operation.
Mounting Options: The Focal Dimension soundbar speaker can be table-top mounted using the included feet. You can also mount the Focal soundbar speaker to a wall using the included wall-mount bracket. Adjust the "Position" switch on the back of the soundbar speaker to optimize its sound for the type of installation (wall or table).
Eco Mode: The soundbar will automatically switch to Eco Mode when no audio signal has been detected for approximately 20 minutes. The amplifiers will be turned off to reduce power consumption.
