Tone control for subs
A low-pass filter lets you optimize the signal for the best tone without distortion. The controls include a variable bass boost, variable subsonic filter, and adjustable phase control that'll dial in and focus the bass in your vehicle. Focal includes a wired remote so you can adjust the bass level from your front seat.

this amp is replacing a 18yr old RF 250.1 mono punch amp. I needed an amp 1ohm stable or 1000 watts at 4 ohms. This was the more cost effective option and had the smallest foot print. So far it's powering two M Series Kove Armageddon 12" DVC subs and not breaking a sweat at 1 ohm. I'm happy with the amp but I would have preferred to purchase a FPD amp that supported what i needed. There's a big improvement on sound as i have been under powering my subs for years which might be way they have lasted me nearly 20 years. I do wish it had a full range option since i'm using a DSP.

CEA-2006 Compliant: CEA-2006 is a system of testing and measurement methods for mobile audio amplifiers. This voluntary standard advocates a uniform method for measuring an amplifier's RMS power output and signal-to-noise ratio. The criteria for measuring power uses a DC input voltage of 14.4 volts and the RMS power output is measured into a 4Ω load, with 1% or less Total Harmonic Distortion plus noise (THD+N), and over a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz (for full range amplifiers). Signal-to-Noise ratio is measured in weighted absolute decibels (dBA) at a reference of 1 watt into 4Ω. CEA-2006 standards allow consumers to compare amplifiers on an equal basis.
Amp Overview: The Focal FPX 1.1000 is a full-range Class D mono amplifier. Class D amplifiers are compact, but very powerful. Its Class D design and thick aluminum chassis (3/8" on top, 11/16" on the sides) offer efficient dissipation of heat for reliable performance. The amp can be configured for two-channel or mono operation. It has a built-in low-pass crossover and a subsonic filter. The FPX 1.1000 comes with a wired remote with a 16.5' cable.

Compact Footprint: The Focal FPX 1.1000 comes with 2-1/2" long mounting screws that secure the amplifier without external mounting tabs. The mounting holes are placed inside of the amp's 11-3/4" x 5-1/4" footprint and extend the entire thickness of the amp.
Protection Circuits: The amplifier is equipped with protection circuits for the following: short circuits, low impedance, power drop, thermal overload, reversed polarity, or DC offset.
Level Control (Gain): The Focal FPX 1.1000 is equipped with line level inputs. The input level range is 0.2 Volts to 5.0 Volts. There is a rotary gain control that can be adjusted by a standard flat-head or Phillips screwdriver (not supplied).
Crossover: The amp features a high-quality low-pass crossover that has a variable cutoff frequency from 50Hz to 250Hz. The crossover has a slope of 24dB per octave.
Subsonic Filter: In addition to the low-pass filter, the amp has a subsonic filter that eliminates extremely low frequencies that cause distortion and that speakers typically can't handle. The 10-50 Hz subsonic filter has a steep slope of 24dB per octave.
Remote Control: The FPX 1.1000 comes with a wired remote control that lets you control the bass level from the driver's seat. The small control module can be mounted on a console or under the dash with the supplied screws.
Phase Control: The 0° to 180° phase control lets you adjust the output of the connected subwoofer so that it is in phase with the rest of the speaker system. The rotary control is adjustable with a small screwdriver.
Bass Boost: The amp features a bass boost circuit that is variable from 0 to 12dB with a center frequency of 48 Hz.
Power Input: Two set-screw terminals are provided for connecting the power and ground cables. The terminals can accept up to 4-gauge wire. The set screws are tightened/loosened with the included 4mm Allen wrench.
Fuses: The amp comes with three 30A ATM (mini-blade) fuses in the box. There are no built-in fuse holders on the amplifier. The fuses (or a 90A equivalent) should be installed on the power wire within 18" of the battery.
Remote Turn-on: The remote turn-on set screw terminal will accept up to 12-gauge wire. The set screw is tightened/loosened with the included 2mm Allen wrench.
Speaker Outputs: The amplifier includes two pairs of speaker output terminals, wired together internally in parallel. This allows you to connect two subwoofers, or wire both voice coils of a DVC speaker, to separate terminals. The set-screw terminals will accept up to 12-gauge wire and are tightened/loosened with the included 2mm Allen wrench.
Signal Input: The amplifier features a pair of stereo RCA inputs for connecting the input signal from the source unit to the amp via RCA cables.
Signal Output: In addition to the line outputs, the FPX 1.1000 has a set of line outputs that can send the audio signal to a second amplifier.
