Overview

Our take on the Focal Integration ISC 130

Focal applies the same technology they use in their studio and audiophile-grade home systems to their Integration line of car speakers. Their Integration ISC 130 5-1/4" speakers use cones made of Polyglass, a material that combines the warm sound of cellulose with the strength of glass, for a woofer that plays accurately with no added resonances.

Focal Integration ISC 130 5-1/4" speakers

You can aim the tweeter for better high-frequency dispersion.

Audiophile-grade engineering

Focal applies the same technology they use in their studio and audiophile-grade home systems to their Integration line of car speakers. Their Integration ISC 130 5-1/4" speakers use cones made of Polyglass, a material that combines the warm sound of cellulose with the strength of glass, for a woofer that plays accurately with no added resonances.

Adjustable tweeter

The Integration processed aluminum inverted dome tweeter features a built-in phase plug and wave guide, which act together to increase the power of high-frequency notes and improve the stereo soundstage. You can also tilt the tweeter for better imaging in many vehicles.

Integration speakers allow you to put Focal sound quality and construction into your vehicle without a lot of muss and fuss, so you can enjoy a dramatic jump in performance over your old speakers.

These speakers are so darn clean and accurate in music reproduction. This was my first pair from Focal and it won't be the last! I've bought several car speakers in my lifetime from high end companies and this brand is my new favorite.

The Focal speakers are very clear but VERY bright. Unless you listen to 70s pop or country, you are not going to like the total lack of base. They are almost tweeters. I will have to get a sub with a high crossover or muddy rear speakers to balance.

Pros: Easy to mount Good looking Very clear

Cons: Zero base

Nice speakers

5 1/4 Focals went in front doors of 94 Acura Integra GSR that had stock speakers in them. They sound good and provide nice mids throughout the front cabin. I'd recommend them.

Pros: good sound with clean mids. powered by alpine deck.

Amazing speakers! Replaced a set of Ford factory 5"×7", and the difference was night and day! Realize that I now need to upgrade the back doors now. Supplied brackets and harness adapters cut install time by at least 75%!

Pros: Speakers beat expectations on quality sound! Sounded amazing considering they were powered by just a head unit without an amp!

Cons: No complaints here!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The Focal speakers have a great sound and are just being driven by the 2002 Lexus RX 300 factory head unit. Definitely worth every penny. The 5 1/2 went in the back door with no issue , the 6 1/2 went in the front door with a Metra Lexus speaker adapter kit. The tweeter, treble and bass are just awesome.

Pros: Great sound, fit in the factory opening made the factory head unit come alive.

Cons: None

Very balanced sound - tight bass and very true highs , quality construction . I replaced the stock rear door speakers in my 2002 RX300 i had to tune the treble down as the stock drivers in the rear door were one way and didn't have tweeter . Very happy with my purchase and service I received from Crutchfield

Pros: Very true sound

Cons: Now I have to replace the front speakers to match the quality of the rears

These focal did the job, I plugged in one so I could listen for a difference between my previous upgrade, and I can honestly say that I'm very happy with clearness that I hear over the 3way speakers that I compared them against.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought two pairs of these for my 2005 Chrysler Town & Country for my dash and front doors, they're mated to a Rockford Fosgate T400X4AD placed in the stock factory location (passenger rear quarters behind the 6x9 speaker location) and Pioneer AVIC-8200NEX and I have to say they sound AMAZING when setup properly. My installer had originally set my amp to Hi-Pass and they sounded like absolute garbage, thought I had wasted my money. Luckily I checked the amp settings and made sure it was set to All-Pass. Do not hesitate in getting these! The bass is punchy and strong! Would definitely recommend these for other Generation 4 van owners.

Pros: Sounds amazing when tuned properly!

Cons: A bit expensive, did not fit in dash perfectly, but was able to make work.

Features

Polyglass Cone: The woofer cone has a cellulose pulp base and is coated with a uniform deposit of hollow glass microballs. The addition of the Polyglass layer significantly increases the cone's rigidity without adding much weight. This combination takes advantage of the accuracy and neutrality of the hard outer surface, but maintains the superior damping characteristics of the cellulose pulp.

Surround: The butyl rubber surround is resistant to ultraviolet rays, temperature extremes, and humidity to add to the speaker's reliability and longevity.

Voice Coil: The voice coil is wound around a 1" diameter low-mass Kapton former, ensuring no coil deformation.

Inverted Dome Tweeter: The tweeter is an inverted aluminum dome, producing a broad sound stage. The tweeter is angled and rotates on its post, so it can be pointed toward the listener.
