About the Focal Performance PC 165
If you're looking for more than just replacement speakers, Focal's Performance Series speakers let the music speak for itself, providing transparent reproduction for all your recordings and listening pleasures. This PC 165 6-1/2" speaker uses a lightweight, exceptionally rigid Polyglass cone in a sturdy frame to create accurate, richly-textured sound, whether played loud or soft.
Focal brought some of their high-fidelity technology out of the studio and into your car with the Performance inverted dome tweeters. This technology results in wider dispersion and a higher frequency response, so you'll notice greater detail in the instruments and voices. Each tweeter features a built-in phase plug and wave guide, which act together to increase the power of high-frequency notes and improve the stereo soundstage. You can also tilt the tweeter for better imaging, a big help in vehicles where the speakers are not optimally placed.
Technology that sounds like magic
Focal applies molten glass microballs onto cellulose pulp to create their Polyglass cones, combining the crisp response of the rigid glass layer with the warm sound of a paper cone. The aluminum tweeter has been similarly treated with a softer, more easily damped material that makes the treble distinct without sounding harsh. You can expect superior performance from these speakers, whether you power them with a quality outboard amp or your car stereo.

Replaced all 4 factory speakers with these and powered by a excelon xr900-5. This combination doesn't mess around. I don't play lows through them but the midst are strong and highs will hurt your ears all while being super clear no matter how high you go.
Pros: Super strong and yet clear sounding speaker. From upgrade to high end it'll get the job done.

I bought 4 of these speakers to replace the existing Bose speakers in my 2015 GMC Sierra Crew Cab pickup. I'm using the existing Bose head unit and driving the speakers with a Rockford T-600 4 channel amp. Perfectly clean sound that is much improved over the stock Bose speakers. Not as much mid-range as I had hoped but they are two -way speakers, so overall I would highly recommend them.
Pros: Excellent loud and clean sound.
Cons: Not as much mid-range.

I upgraded to these speakers from the Infinity Kappa 62.11i in a 2013 camaro I also added the JL Audio C5075-CT Tweeters and I must say that the soundstage is awesome. I must say that this is not just a upgrade from an oem speaker these are far better. The pc 165 is a speaker with warm mids and highs with no harsh highs and awesome bass for a speaker this size. I am driving these with the Alpine PDR-F50 Amp. You will not be disapointed with these speakers at all. The inifinity kappas sound good but the focal pc165 is at an audiophile level of sound quality over the Kappa. I regret not getting the focals from the beginning.
Pros: Awesome tight bass with very warm mids and highs without harshness. Very loud and clear also sound excellent at low volume with great sound reproduction. soundstage is totally awesome. More expensivel but the diffierence is there.

I decide to buy these, because I wanted the sound of having component speakers but I didn't wanna drill holes for the tweeters in my door panels. I didn't wanna advertise "come still me" .. they fit perfect in my front doors. the adjustable tweeter helps a lot. the sound is amazing, there is mid bass, the tweeter isn't so harsh, and I could hear the voice clearly. I gotta add, with the features on my H.U, the sound doesn't sound like its coming from my door panels, rather more from my windshield. you get what you pay for. Currently it is just powered though my H.U. a Kenwood Excelon KDC-X997, rear fill is a Rockford Fosgate Prime R1675X2 and a powered sub Rockford Fosgate Punch P300-10. I will amp the speakers later, i'll update yall on it.
Pros: great sound, adjustable angle on tweeter, love the mid bass, don't worry it doesn't hit the tweeter when the bass hits. overall great design.
Cons: the price is pretty high for a coaxial, but if u want something great soundin like a component speakers, and have it be hidden, this is the best way to go.

Polyglass Cone: The woofer cone has a cellulose pulp base and is coated with a uniform deposit of hollow glass microballs. The addition of the Polyglass layer significantly increases the cone's rigidity without adding much weight. This combination takes advantage of the accuracy and neutrality of the hard outer surface, but maintains the superior damping characteristics of the cellulose pulp.
Surround: The butyl rubber surround is resistant to ultraviolet rays, temperature extremes, and humidity to add to the speaker's reliability and longevity.
Voice Coil: The voice coil is wound around a 1" diameter low-mass Kapton former, ensuring no coil deformation.
Inverted Dome Tweeter: The tweeter is an inverted aluminum dome, producing a broad sound stage. The tweeter rotates on its post, so it can be pointed toward the listener.
Power: In different locations on their website Focal publishes two power ratings for the PC 165, 60 watts RMS/120 watts max and 80 watts RMS/160 watts max. We received confirmation by email that 60 watts RMS/120 watts max is correct.
