Only giving 4 stars so far as I just installed this last night, but man! I can't believe how easy Crutchfield made it to install with the add on Ready Harness! Total job time for me was less than 30 minutes! The deck itself seems to be everything I needed to get me into the Bluetooth game on a budget, and it has my factory paper cone speakers sounding great! Next up is some after market speakers as well! Thanks Crutchfield! 2007 Honda Odyssey

Great sound, plenty of power, and affordable with most budgets! I love the ability to change the color scheme on the unit and have been more than impressed with it's output. Only change I wish and maybe I have been spoiled in the past, is that there were more ways to dial in the sound. More EQ options, more adjustments within Highs, Mids, Lows, and the ability to turn front/rear outs off or adjust (like for a mono subwoofer - pushing more or less sound or higher or lower frequency to it). No regrets for me. I would buy this unit again.

Item did not perform as expected. Whenever you powered the unit down either by power button on head unit or by ignition switch, all memory lost and volume automatically reset itself to 19. (Very loud) Double checked wiring and it was wired correctly, but item was faulty out of the box. I was able to easily return the item and get another brand as a replacement. I can not recommend this item. Yes it wasn't expensive but failed to perform basic functions even for a cheap unit.

Radio Installation in 1999 Ford F150
Crutchfield customer from Hixson , TN on 12/28/2020
1999 Ford F-150
I installed the Boss 560BRGB in my 1999 Ford F150 pickup. The installation was simon simple. I had to contact Crutchfield because the radio wouldn't fit in the dash adapter. I talked to Roman, who was friendly and knowledgeable. He told me that the faceplate had to be removed from the adapter. Once the faceplate was removed, the radio installed perfectly in the dash adapter. The only other problem I encountered was how to support the back of the radio. I had to loosen the heater/ac control panel below the radio so I could see the back of the radio. Using the back radio support designed for a rail system, I adjusted that support until it rested on the back mounting bracket for the original radio. It mounted very securely after that. The radio works well and is easy to operate. Sales and service from Crutchfield was excellent, as usual. I would never buy a radio for a vehicle from anyone but Crutchfield. I highly recommend this radio.
Pros: Reasonably priced radio Has bluetooth and aux in Fantastic Crutchfield sales and service Easy installation
Cons: No good method to mount back of radio

Great sound value, spotty hardware quality.
Alex from Seattle, WA on 11/18/2020

I have owned this radio for a few years now. Installation was easy with the included Crutchfield installation goods. The good: The sound is surprisingly clear, even in a convertible miata, with good, basic options to adjust. Bluetooth pairs quickly, reliably and without drama. Colors are bright and attractive inside the car. The menu is easy enough to navigate with some practice and fairly intuitive compared to others. Sound adjustments are basic but comprehensive and allow for fairly nice tuning overall. Sound is clear and crisp when I paired it with good quality door speakers. I use the CD function rarely but it has always worked great and without skipping. The bad: The radio seemed buggy initially until "worn in" for lack of better explanation. One seek button pretty much failed its "click" function immediately but is still serviceable in function. More concerningly the volume control wheel started to fail within a year in smooth adjustment and is increasingly turning without effect or even has the opposite effect. Several attempts and turns are needed now to accurately adjust volume in lower decibels. I suspect volume control will fail entirely within two years or so. It is a great sounding radio for the mid range price and easy to install. The hardware quality of adjustment knobs in particular is unfortunately not sturdy and prone to failure, though apparently not catastrophically (yet).

Installing this in a 06 Mustang GT, like it and its a fairly easy install but man!!!! The loud POP will not go away ? I've tried wiring the way the axxess 5v step down instructions tell you, the way the Crutchfield tech support dude said, and the way I first thought, but no luck. I thought I had it one time, it didn't pop but I realized the freaking subwoofers in the doors were not working and that's why it didn't pop !!! I could really use a picture of these 3 harness's wired up to an 06 Mustang GT that has a shaker 500 sound system so that I know exactly what's the right way !!!! If I don't figure this thing out, I guess I'm gonna have to pay someone to hook this piece up cause this pop is SO annoying, and it scares my wife and kids !! LOL !! ( well not a laughing matter but well... you know, lol ! ) VERY FRUSTRATED !!! Oh, would've got 5 stars if not for this BS ! If someone can help me I would greatly appreciate it !!!
Pros: *Easy install* looks good when your done.
Cons: The confusing wiring diagrams for this for an 06 Mustang GT w/shaker 500 !!!!!!!!!!!! POP!!!!!POP!!!

Buy From Crutchfield!
Kenneth from Georgetown, IN on 1/22/2020

0 stars for the radio, but I'm leaving 5 stars for Crutchfield. I purchased this radio 7/28/19 and it quit working 1/22/20. So about 6 months and its already dead. Power to the harness at both constant and acc wires and fuses are good, so we know it's the radio. I called Crutchfield because it is still under warranty. Not only did they agree to me sending the old radio in, but they let me change my replacement to a better known brand that was just a bucks more AND they waived the cost difference. I have been buying from Crutchfield for years and today I was reminded why, they are THE BEST in the business. Support them because they'll support you.

This radio needs to be replaced after 10 months. Right off the bat, there was electical clicking sounds when I turned the pot and it made this awful beeping sound whenever I clicked the pot in. The beeping could be disabled after reading the instructions. My whole system has constant white noise, but I can't be sure if this radio is the cause. At 10 months, the pot does not register all of the clicks when I turn it and sometimes goes in the wrong direction. I had to always keep the USB port flipped closed because it looked janky and cheap and crooked when open. My bluetooth audio randomly speeds up and slows down.
Pros: cheap

Installed in my wife's 2000 Mercedes C230 and she very happy with it. Works great, she'll have to get use to all the feature that it has. Crutchfield had answers my questions and concerns about instilling in the Mercedes vehicle. Overall we like it and sounds great. The unit was in my price range.
Pros: Got more feature than my old radio
Cons: Didn't have to use mounting sleeve, otherwise it the radio would not slide in due to tight location.

Decent value but....
Crutchfield customer from Deer Creek, IL on 4/28/2019
2007 Hyundai Sonata
Easy to install, though the mounting leaves the radio not quite securely in the dash. The metal tabs on the bracket don't hold it tight enough against the plastic frame that comes with it. I found some screws to help with that. Also disappointed that the wiring package doesn't support the audio controls on the steering wheel. I do not recall any warning about that on the website before ordering, nor is there any indication in the instructions about that. That said, the radio works great, blue tooth syncs quickly and on the first try, microphone quality for phone calls is good. Good overall value for the cost.
Pros: Easy install & good sound quality.
Cons: Doesn't support steering wheel mounted controls.

Great product! I was initially going to purchase a cheaper model but decided to opt in for one that was a little more pricey. After being sent all the installation parts and having to buy separate wiring connectors, since I don't have my soldering gun on me, I installed the stereo very quickly and easily. The sound quality and clarity was enhanced tenfold! It has only been a few hours but the product is performing beyond expectation! I usually only use the aux and Bluetooth, though regular FM/AM sounded fine.

Great system with easy-to-follow directions. My first time installing a radio in a vehicle ('06 Subaru Forester). I did have some issues moving my car into a lower gear (a necessary step to remove some of the paneling) using the gear shift lever while the car battery was unplugged, but was able to do so after several iterations of re-connecting the car battery, turning car on, moving car to neutral, removing some paneling, moving car back to park, turning car off, and unplugging the battery.

Very basic unit, good for a beater car or first car
Crutchfield customer from Rockford, IL on 12/2/2018
2006 Ford Crown Victoria
This is a pretty bare-bones head unit and it functions well. It does everything a basic head unit needs to do. Very good value for the price. Keep in mind, for the price. It's a lower-end unit and that's what i wanted. I got it to put into my 2006 Crown Vic, my backup beater car. I didn't need anything fancy. It plays CDs, connects to my phone via bluetooth easily to play digital music, and the bluetooth mic is installed on the faceplate so there is no mic wire to route and install. Those were all the checks in the box i needed. The remote is convenient but I don't use it while driving. The only downside to this unit is that many of the buttons have multiple functions and the instruction book doesn't thoroughly explain all the button functions. But, I won't take a star for that. Remember, it's a bare-bones unit.
Pros: Cheap, easy bluetooth connection, mic installed in faceplate
Cons: Takes some playing around to figure out all the buttons, instruction manual doesn't fully explain all buttons.

Overall a good product. Sometimes the bluetooth can be a bit glitchy. I am not sure if this is the fault of the Boss 560 or my phone, but it is solved by resetting the head unit itself. This has happened twice over 6 months. The call quality is good, but not the highest. The music quality is excellent and sounds really good through my factory Subaru speakers. The install was easy and the included instructions were sufficient to get an understanding what what needed to be done. Overall a quality product for the cost. There are better products on the market, but this pricepoint is hard to beat.

Thanks to the team at Crutchfield, great product for the price, and you made it easy by including set up and instruction sheets.
Pros: Great information on product and features. Outstanding information on needed instructions and parts required.
Cons: User manual sometimes confusing on programming choices, wish the clock time feature had an option to always show clock time, as opposed to having to reach over to hit clock button to check time while driving.

You cannot go wrong by ordering thru Crutchfield. You get the right product, right fit and all the info you would want. The Boss 560BRGB showed up the very next day after ordering in great condition. Not only was the Boss 560 in the box, but also the mounting adapter AND the patch cable to tie it into my 2005 Honda Element. With the clear instructions, I was able to remove the old radio in a matter of minutes, and prepping the mounting kit and attaching it to the new Boss 560, only added a few minutes to complete. The only item that took a few extra minutes was the adapter cable that had to be tied in, but that did not take long at all. I guess I took my time so I did not cross any wires and get my rear speakers up front. All went very well and operation of the radio, USB, Bluetooth, etc, was also just as easy. The Boss 560 sounds great and all I have to do now is to go back onto the Crutchfield site and pick out a set of speakers, since mine are now 13 years old :-(

Overall, this unit is great for the money. It's not perfect, but if you're on a tight budget or just trying to hook a family member up with a half decent setup like i did, this can't be beat. My main criticism was that the 3 buttons on the far left of it are very stiff and feel like an afterthought.
Pros: inexpensive, volume knob feels good, BT
Cons: some of the buttons are stiff and feel cheap

The worst stereo I know
Alexander from Littleton, CO on 7/6/2018
2007 Chevrolet Malibu
This is the worst car stereo I have ever owned or even used. The device has no options for LED dimming, so at night the lights are very bright. There is no memory for the volume, so when you turn on your car you better remember to turn the volume down immediately or else your ears and possibly speakers will be blown out by incredible volume. The clock has no option to be displayed at all times by default, so if you want to check the time, you have to hold down a button. Those are all of the things wrong with the stereo IF it works as intended. But my unit actually started malfunctioning after 3 months of use. It now turns off all the time and the only way to fix it is to remove the removable face plate and put it back on. It will turn off from the smallest bump in the road or if I just try and adjust the volume or skip a song. Touching the stereo anywhere turns it off now. Do not buy this product. You are wasting your money and time if you do.
Pros: +Full suite of features +will automatically re-sync with your bluetooth device and resume the song you have paused
Cons: -Doesn't remember volume -Doesn't display clock unless you hold down a button -Doesn't have LED dimmer options -Begins malfunctioning after a few months to the point of uselessness.

The stereo was very easy to install and sounds great. Crutchfield included all the parts I needed and a mastersheet to help me remove the stock stereo, which helped a lot! It connects to my phone via Bluetooth very quickly and easily and when I use CDs they don't skip at all. The buttons on the stereo feel very sturdy and have a nice click to them. I also really like the illumination colors.
Pros: Easy to install, great sound, many ways to connect.
Cons: Can't dim the illumination.

Mark from Marion, KS on 7/1/2018
1997 Ford Mustang
I am really impressed with this unit. Typically I have used Pioneer units in the past and this one functions just as good as the more expensive units. I like the big display and the color selections. Bluetooth works great. The buttons do feel a little cheap and the audio adjustments are basic but even so I've found them to work well. It's worth mentioning that I'm only using the pre-outs and not the built in amp since my car has premium sound (Mustang mach 460) so I can't speak for that. I would reccomend this unit!
Pros: Big colorful display that isn't distracting Radio/aux/Bluetooth works great
Cons: Cheap feeling buttons Basic audio adjustments

Great sound, no bluetooth
Paul from Dunlap, IL on 6/21/2018
1998 Ford Contour
I purchased the Boss 560BRGB to replace the old cassette player in my 1998 Ford Contour. I ordered the Crutchfield wiring service with the ready-to-install harness and installation was a breeze. It was definitely worth the expense. The Boss sounds great and it's nice to be able to play my CD's in the car. The only problem I had was getting the bluetooth to work. The bluetooth would connect and the phone would ring thru the car speakers but the button to answer the phone would not work. I called Crutchfield support and they helped me resolve setting the clock time and I told them that i would contact Boss support about the bluetooth issue. I opened a service request ticket on the Boss website and an agent contacted me by phone a few hours later. He said they had tried to replicate the bluetooth problem in the shop without success and said that the problem was a software issue and the radio would need to be returned to them for service. He offered to send me an Return Authorization but I declined because of the price of the radio and was working great except for the bluetooth. I didn't really want to mess with taking it out of the car and sending it in for repair so I went to a local retailer and bought an Anker ROAV smartcharge bluetooth wireless FM transmitter. The Anker unit works perfectly in all of my cars and now I can do hands-free calling whatever I drive. All in all, I am very happy with Crutchfield and plan to buy from them again. The Boss unit sounds great.
Pros: Great sound, easy install, good value for the money, responsive service department, 3 year warranty, adjustable colors
Cons: software problem with the bluetooth, can't answer calls

Barry from Glenview, IL on 6/17/2018
I wanted a conservative looking radio for my vintage BMW. This is about as plain as you can buy today. Considering the price, I am extremely pleased. It seems to have a decent amount of power, and clarity. Stations come in better than previous units I owned. What is a huge surprise is that in spite of a stiff racing suspension, I can play CDs without skipping, which I could never do before. It easily connected up to my IPhone.
Pros: Nice usable features. No CD skipping under roughest conditions.
Cons: Too many lights and flashing things and no way to dim them.

Lousy Bluetooth Phone Connection
John from Hunlock Creek, PA on 6/6/2018
2002 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport
I bought this unit based on the good reviews it had written about it and really let down by the Bluetooth performance. So far, each time I want to make a call I must drop the connection on the phone and reconnect. When conversing, the audio I hear is very scratchy especially at the beginning of the phone call. I am told it sounds like I'm under water on the other end. I doubt it's the phone's fault as I have a similar Pioneer stereo with Bluetooth in another vehicle and the calls are crystal clear and no need to drop the Bluetooth connection and reconnect for each call. The Pioneer does have a dedicated cabled microphone on it which the Boss model does not and next time I'll choose a model with a cabled microphone instead of the built in pinhole microphone models. As for everything else related to this model, I've no complaints. Apparently the unit I received is a lemon as so many other reviews on this stereo were much better.
Pros: SD Card - USB thumbdrive - CD - Good radio reception - Easy installation and connection with Posi-Products connectors from Crutchfield - Great price.
Cons: Bluetooth phone handling and sound quality is poor.

Easy to use and install. It also sounds good and has everything you need. Only downfall is the bluetooth range which may be normal, but I installed it in a 35' boat and range starts to drop off at about 8'. This would probably be fine for most cars but I was expecting more range like a bluetooth speaker. To compensate, I intend to use a chromecast audio device plugged into the aux port for extended range.
Pros: Everything you need
Cons: Bluetooth range

2004 Subaru Outback
My 2004 Subaru outback already had a pretty good stereo radio and a 6-CD changer. As someone who grew up with 8-tracks, I thought it was pretty cool. But eventually it dawned on me that it would be awfully nice to be able to listen to stuff from my iPod and/or iPhone. Our new Prius has all the electronic bells and whistles, and it really is nice. But the Subaru is an old and trusted companion, and I still use it for camping and winter travel in the mountains. The Boss 560BRGB was a reasonable cost replacement, and using the existing speakers, it puts out much better sound. The Crutchfield web page and chat assistant were a big help in picking the right system and getting it installed. They even provided extra "bins" to fill the hole left by the CD changer. I used one of those to add 2 12-Volt power ports, one of which has an insert for USB power. I am very pleased with the end result. Just wish I was as young as I was when 8-tracks were considered high-tech.
Pros: -easy to install! -great sound -operation is intuitive
Cons: wish I could dim the lights on it.
