Sound quality is not good. You get what you pay for. Bluetooth works great. The biggest problem I had was with letting Crutchfield make the wire connections. They just crimped wires together with no protection. Engine noise in radio was horrible, so I had to remove the crimp fittings and solder and shrink tube all connections. Do not waste your money on this service.
Pros: Bluetooth works great
Cons: Sound quality is cheap

Overall it's a pretty decent head unit considering the low cost. I will say that one time so far the unit has just shut off for no apparent reason and wouldn't turn back on but the accent lights on the faceplate stayed on. Took off the faceplate and pressed the reset button and it's worked fine ever since.
Pros: Good features

Wow! Works great. Fantastic price. You can press a button to make it display the clock while playing music, which isn't something I have seen mentioned elsewhere. I love the clean look of the front of the radio and the numbered buttons. It isn't full of different logos or unnecessary options. I am very impressed with the radio. I got the Metra kit included for free from Crutchfield. So impressed with the instructions from all companies involved, I will definitely be using Boss and Crutchfield in the future for my car stereo needs.

Decent value but....
Crutchfield customer from Deer Creek, IL on 4/28/2019
2007 Hyundai Sonata
Easy to install, though the mounting leaves the radio not quite securely in the dash. The metal tabs on the bracket don't hold it tight enough against the plastic frame that comes with it. I found some screws to help with that. Also disappointed that the wiring package doesn't support the audio controls on the steering wheel. I do not recall any warning about that on the website before ordering, nor is there any indication in the instructions about that. That said, the radio works great, blue tooth syncs quickly and on the first try, microphone quality for phone calls is good. Good overall value for the cost.
Pros: Easy install & good sound quality.
Cons: Doesn't support steering wheel mounted controls.

Great product! I was initially going to purchase a cheaper model but decided to opt in for one that was a little more pricey. After being sent all the installation parts and having to buy separate wiring connectors, since I don't have my soldering gun on me, I installed the stereo very quickly and easily. The sound quality and clarity was enhanced tenfold! It has only been a few hours but the product is performing beyond expectation! I usually only use the aux and Bluetooth, though regular FM/AM sounded fine.

I did have some issues moving my car into a lower gear (a necessary step to remove some of the paneling) using the gear shift lever while the car battery was unplugged, but was able to do so after several iterations of re-connecting the car battery, turning car on, moving car to neutral, removing some paneling, moving car back to park, turning car off, and unplugging the battery.

Very basic unit, good for a beater car or first car
Crutchfield customer from Rockford, IL on 12/2/2018
2006 Ford Crown Victoria
This is a pretty bare-bones head unit and it functions well. It does everything a basic head unit needs to do. Very good value for the price. Keep in mind, for the price. It's a lower-end unit and that's what i wanted. I got it to put into my 2006 Crown Vic, my backup beater car. I didn't need anything fancy. It plays CDs, connects to my phone via bluetooth easily to play digital music, and the bluetooth mic is installed on the faceplate so there is no mic wire to route and install. Those were all the checks in the box i needed. The remote is convenient but I don't use it while driving. The only downside to this unit is that many of the buttons have multiple functions and the instruction book doesn't thoroughly explain all the button functions. But, I won't take a star for that. Remember, it's a bare-bones unit.
Pros: Cheap, easy bluetooth connection, mic installed in faceplate
Cons: Takes some playing around to figure out all the buttons, instruction manual doesn't fully explain all buttons.

I love it, took some tinkering around to fully understand the settings, the color one will really full you, if you want to change it change the preset that says automatic and you can pick whatever color you want, got mine set at purple. Anyway the unit plays amazing and I'm very happy with it.
Pros: Looks crisp and easy to install.
Cons: none that I can think of

A good radio if you just want to be able to play your own music. My stock radio in my Subaru didn't have any options for personal music playing so I purchased this one. Does everything you can think of, I just wish it displayed song names on the screen. Comes with a remote which is nice for when I watch movies at my local drive in(yep they still exist!)
Pros: Bright display lights, adjust bass, treble, loud, etc, has a remote, sleek look
Cons: Doesn't display song names on the screen

Overall a good product. Sometimes the bluetooth can be a bit glitchy. I am not sure if this is the fault of the Boss 560 or my phone, but it is solved by resetting the head unit itself. This has happened twice over 6 months. The call quality is good, but not the highest. The music quality is excellent and sounds really good through my factory Subaru speakers. The install was easy and the included instructions were sufficient to get an understanding what what needed to be done. Overall a quality product for the cost. There are better products on the market, but this pricepoint is hard to beat.
Pros: Good Price Easy Subaru Install Sounds good
Cons: Bluetooth occasionally glitches Call quality could be better

Kind of tricky to set up and operate. Manual radio frequency adjusting is puzzling. Can't have time displayed on the unit as a regular feature (you can see time temporarily only). Sound is good and unit functions as described, just tricky for a tech-challenged old guy. Installation was easy and went very well. I bought the pre wired plug adapter, which was a very good choice.
Pros: price ease of installation sound quality
Cons: A little tricky and complicated to operate

You cannot go wrong by ordering thru Crutchfield. You get the right product, right fit and all the info you would want. The Boss 560BRGB showed up the very next day after ordering in great condition. Not only was the Boss 560 in the box, but also the mounting adapter AND the patch cable to tie it into my 2005 Honda Element. With the clear instructions, I was able to remove the old radio in a matter of minutes, and prepping the mounting kit and attaching it to the new Boss 560, only added a few minutes to complete. The only item that took a few extra minutes was the adapter cable that had to be tied in, but that did not take long at all. I guess I took my time so I did not cross any wires and get my rear speakers up front. All went very well and operation of the radio, USB, Bluetooth, etc, was also just as easy. The Boss 560 sounds great and all I have to do now is to go back onto the Crutchfield site and pick out a set of speakers, since mine are now 13 years old :-(

The worst stereo I know
Alexander from Littleton, CO on 7/6/2018
2007 Chevrolet Malibu
This is the worst car stereo I have ever owned or even used. The device has no options for LED dimming, so at night the lights are very bright. There is no memory for the volume, so when you turn on your car you better remember to turn the volume down immediately or else your ears and possibly speakers will be blown out by incredible volume. The clock has no option to be displayed at all times by default, so if you want to check the time, you have to hold down a button. Those are all of the things wrong with the stereo IF it works as intended. But my unit actually started malfunctioning after 3 months of use. It now turns off all the time and the only way to fix it is to remove the removable face plate and put it back on. It will turn off from the smallest bump in the road or if I just try and adjust the volume or skip a song. Touching the stereo anywhere turns it off now. Do not buy this product. You are wasting your money and time if you do.
Pros: +Full suite of features +will automatically re-sync with your bluetooth device and resume the song you have paused
Cons: -Doesn't remember volume -Doesn't display clock unless you hold down a button -Doesn't have LED dimmer options -Begins malfunctioning after a few months to the point of uselessness.

The stereo was very easy to install and sounds great. Crutchfield included all the parts I needed and a mastersheet to help me remove the stock stereo, which helped a lot! It connects to my phone via Bluetooth very quickly and easily and when I use CDs they don't skip at all. The buttons on the stereo feel very sturdy and have a nice click to them. I also really like the illumination colors.
Pros: Easy to install, great sound, many ways to connect.
Cons: Can't dim the illumination.

1997 Ford Mustang
I am really impressed with this unit. Typically I have used Pioneer units in the past and this one functions just as good as the more expensive units. I like the big display and the color selections. Bluetooth works great. The buttons do feel a little cheap and the audio adjustments are basic but even so I've found them to work well. It's worth mentioning that I'm only using the pre-outs and not the built in amp since my car has premium sound (Mustang mach 460) so I can't speak for that. I would reccomend this unit!
Pros: Big colorful display that isn't distracting Radio/aux/Bluetooth works great
Cons: Cheap feeling buttons Basic audio adjustments

Great sound, no bluetooth
Paul from Dunlap, IL on 6/21/2018
1998 Ford Contour
I purchased the Boss 560BRGB to replace the old cassette player in my 1998 Ford Contour. I ordered the Crutchfield wiring service with the ready-to-install harness and installation was a breeze. It was definitely worth the expense. The Boss sounds great and it's nice to be able to play my CD's in the car. The only problem I had was getting the bluetooth to work. The bluetooth would connect and the phone would ring thru the car speakers but the button to answer the phone would not work. I called Crutchfield support and they helped me resolve setting the clock time and I told them that i would contact Boss support about the bluetooth issue. I opened a service request ticket on the Boss website and an agent contacted me by phone a few hours later. He said they had tried to replicate the bluetooth problem in the shop without success and said that the problem was a software issue and the radio would need to be returned to them for service. He offered to send me an Return Authorization but I declined because of the price of the radio and was working great except for the bluetooth. I didn't really want to mess with taking it out of the car and sending it in for repair so I went to a local retailer and bought an Anker ROAV smartcharge bluetooth wireless FM transmitter. The Anker unit works perfectly in all of my cars and now I can do hands-free calling whatever I drive. All in all, I am very happy with Crutchfield and plan to buy from them again. The Boss unit sounds great.
Pros: Great sound, easy install, good value for the money, responsive service department, 3 year warranty, adjustable colors
Cons: software problem with the bluetooth, can't answer calls

I wanted a conservative looking radio for my vintage BMW. This is about as plain as you can buy today. Considering the price, I am extremely pleased. It seems to have a decent amount of power, and clarity. Stations come in better than previous units I owned. What is a huge surprise is that in spite of a stiff racing suspension, I can play CDs without skipping, which I could never do before. It easily connected up to my IPhone.
Pros: Nice usable features. No CD skipping under roughest conditions.
Cons: Too many lights and flashing things and no way to dim them.

Lousy Bluetooth Phone Connection
John from Hunlock Creek, PA on 6/6/2018
2002 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport
I bought this unit based on the good reviews it had written about it and really let down by the Bluetooth performance. So far, each time I want to make a call I must drop the connection on the phone and reconnect. When conversing, the audio I hear is very scratchy especially at the beginning of the phone call. I am told it sounds like I'm under water on the other end. I doubt it's the phone's fault as I have a similar Pioneer stereo with Bluetooth in another vehicle and the calls are crystal clear and no need to drop the Bluetooth connection and reconnect for each call. The Pioneer does have a dedicated cabled microphone on it which the Boss model does not and next time I'll choose a model with a cabled microphone instead of the built in pinhole microphone models. As for everything else related to this model, I've no complaints. Apparently the unit I received is a lemon as so many other reviews on this stereo were much better.
Pros: SD Card - USB thumbdrive - CD - Good radio reception - Easy installation and connection with Posi-Products connectors from Crutchfield - Great price.
Cons: Bluetooth phone handling and sound quality is poor.

Easy to use and install. It also sounds good and has everything you need. Only downfall is the bluetooth range which may be normal, but I installed it in a 35' boat and range starts to drop off at about 8'. This would probably be fine for most cars but I was expecting more range like a bluetooth speaker. To compensate, I intend to use a chromecast audio device plugged into the aux port for extended range.
Pros: Everything you need
Cons: Bluetooth range

2004 Subaru Outback
My 2004 Subaru outback already had a pretty good stereo radio and a 6-CD changer. As someone who grew up with 8-tracks, I thought it was pretty cool. But eventually it dawned on me that it would be awfully nice to be able to listen to stuff from my iPod and/or iPhone. Our new Prius has all the electronic bells and whistles, and it really is nice. But the Subaru is an old and trusted companion, and I still use it for camping and winter travel in the mountains. The Boss 560BRGB was a reasonable cost replacement, and using the existing speakers, it puts out much better sound. The Crutchfield web page and chat assistant were a big help in picking the right system and getting it installed. They even provided extra "bins" to fill the hole left by the CD changer. I used one of those to add 2 12-Volt power ports, one of which has an insert for USB power. I am very pleased with the end result. Just wish I was as young as I was when 8-tracks were considered high-tech.
Pros: -easy to install! -great sound -operation is intuitive
Cons: wish I could dim the lights on it.

Far better sound than the original radio, with convenient USB & sound jack on face of receiver. Color changes are a bit much for my taste, but they can be adjusted. I just have not done so yet. Slight inconvenience: you cannot rewind backwards before the current "chapter" (though you can jump backwards through chapters. Otherwise, I wish I'd done this five years ago. And the price was outstanding.

No problem installing and sounds fine, even with factory speakers. Lots of input options. It's a good thing you can pick your favorite display color from half a dozen options because the display isn't the best (too bright or not bright enough, bright on dark background instead of dark on back-lit screen).

Works ok. I refuse to give any receiver more than 2 stars that won't display the clock as default. The manufacturers must realize you're replacing the only clock in most vehicles, it's either laziness or stupidity. It can't cost much more to display the clock full time.

Solid product. While it's not the most expensive head unit on the market you get better sound from it than others at the same price point. The bluetooth can skip a little but it's not enough to be overly irritating. The wiring harness sent with the head unt made the install really easy and allowed me to undo some of the butchered wiring the previous owner of my car did.
Pros: Great price point and easy to install.

Great for the money
Rob from Albia, IA on 2/2/2018

A friend of mine asked me to find and install a stereo in his mothers 07 Durrango, as the factory unit was intermittent at best. Tasked with finding something a 70 year old woman could operate I came to the most reputable audio sales I could think of, Crutchfield of course. A place I could order the stereo, the install kit and wiring harness, confident it would all work together when it arrived. After a brief reeducation of (what the heck is a "din") I found myself on a quest to find something a 50 year old man (myself) could operate... Fortunately the Boss seemed to fit that category with it's ease of operation and large on screen readout. Plenty of features that none of us may ever understand but having all the basics we would need (bass, treble, eq, loudness, CD and radio.) The multiple color change feature being the topper making it match up to the factory dash lights color. The install went great. It looks great in the dash. Has nice sound for a lower end unit and most important,,, his Mother loves it.
Pros: Easy to operate. Color match lights to your application. Smooth install.

It is possibly a little too bright at night for some people, but i personally love it. Well worth the money and, as always, Crutchfield's helpful free tools and stuff are great. They helped with the order process, and I'm sure, had i needed it, they would have helped with the installation in a heartbeat. I will never order from anyone else.
Pros: Great Sound Great looks easy installation
Cons: Possibly too bright at night for some light sensitive people

FANTASTIC value for the money!
David from Bulls Gap, TN on 12/31/2017
2006 Jeep Liberty
I like this unit a lot. My wife has about a 10 year old Jeep Liberty, and lately, the OEM radio, (which was a nice unit it its day) has been cutting out, and having problems especially with volume control. After progressively getting worse and harder to deal with, I knew a replacement would be under the tree. She is not a techie, so I wanted something pretty basic, and searched for easy fits into her vehicle. I especially liked that it has bluetooth connectivity, and she can make hands free calls in it. Installation was a snap. I like that while not a Mega Power house, it does have 60 wpc, and will crank up all the volume she'll want. 10 minutes after snapping the dash back together, had a bunch of presets set for FM, figured out how to set the clock. I think the multi color display is a little distracting, and am now trying to figure out how to choose a constant color. She also frequently checks the clock on the way to work, and we wish that there was a way to keep the clock as a constant display. Other than this, a FANTASTIC value for the money. I imagined while starting the search for the replacement that I could spend $50 or $500 or more. This is toward the lower end, and is feature packed for the price. No regrets.
Pros: large display, great sound, intuitive design.
Cons: don't like the multi changing colors. WIsh the clock had a constant display option.

Great buy for the money
Brett Gentry from Las Vegas, NV on 12/18/2017
2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser
It's not a high-end unit, so don't expect it to be the most amazing sound ever. But for the price, you'd be hard-pressed to find better. I simply wanted something that would allow my phone to make calls via Bluetooth through the stereo. It does that, and people say the calls sound good on their end. The calls sound pretty good on my end, too. No echo or weird noises. What I got was something that fit that need, but also added the ability to play an SD card full of MP3s, play MP3 CDs, play regular CDs, connect a USB drive, stream my music, and have 5 sets of custom preset stations (2 AM, 3 FM bands). The colors are a fun bonus, too, although they are a bit bright. It also has a detachable face for theft protection. One note: Do not remove the face until you have turned the car off or else it will forget all of your programmed stations and reset the clock. This was easy to install, thanks to the extras I got from Crutchfield. It took me about 15 minutes to take my old one out and put this one in. It's easy enough to operate. There are a few quirks, but once you figure them out, everything is easy. During SD card, USB, and MP3 CD operation, the unit displays the song information. It would be better if the song information was displayed in a different order, though, because it takes a while to get to the important stuff. It should be: Artist, song, album, time, folder, track, file name, file number. Instead, it is almost reversed.
Pros: Good quality for a low price Bluetooth works well SD card works well CD player works well
Cons: LED face is a bit too bright Removal of face during operation resets all presets MP3 tags display in a weird order

Cons: On a Ranger '11 the emovable face is kind of tricky to remove & put it back because of the dash cover given by this site, so if interested on constantly detach&attach not so good

We bought this knowing it was a little low end but we weren't looking to blow our our windows. One reason we got it was the hands free Bluetooth so the kids would not have to hold their phone if we called. The microphone in the face of the unit does not work very well at all. We are quite disappointed in that. The music part seems to work fine.

Cons: Hands-free Bluetooth microphone (in the face of unit) barely functions. Am disappointed.

Pros: Easy install. Blue Tooth works great paired with Galaxy S7. Cruthchfield excellent shipping, instructions, and customer service.
Cons: Preset equalizer settings are sub-par. I can only tolerate the red lighting at night. Every other color is too bright. Haven't found a way to fine tune a radio station. Seems to only have the seek function which skips one of my local stations that I listen to all the time.
