Small tower speakers with big power

These high-performance MRWT40 4" tower speakers from BOSS Audio prove that big sound can come from small packages. Designed for marine and off-road use, these rugged, powerful speakers can handle up to 200 watts RMS each, so your small boat, ATV, or golf cart will really rock.

Made for marine and off-road use

Like all BOSS Audio speakers, these wake tower models bring the noise, but they're also built to last. Durable, lightweight polypropylene cones and 1" tweeters are housed in rugged, UV-resistant baskets, while the internal components are sealed for protection against moisture. These speakers are plenty tough enough to stand up to the rigors of outdoor life. The mounting clamps are built to last, too, and they'll fit 1-1/2" to 2" roll bars.

Note: For best performance, BOSS Audio recommends using a 120 Hz high-pass filter with these speakers.

Product Research

Features

Overview: The Boss MRWT40 weatherproof marine speakers are designed to provide high-quality sound for both waketower and UTV roll-cage applications.

Enclosure: Both of the included 2-way speaker enclosures features a 4" woofer, constructed of a polypropylene cone with rubber surround, and a coaxially mounted 1" dome tweeter, all mounted in a weatherproof ABS enclosure that's designed for marine and powersports applications.

Specifications: Each MRWT40 speaker carries a 94dB sensitivity rating and is capable of handling 200 watts RMS (400 peak) with a frequency response of 130Hz - 20kHz. Note: For best performance, Boss recommends applying a 120Hz high-pass crossover to the input signal.

Mounting: The MRWT40 speakers feature built-in mounting clamps for attaching to a waketower or ATV/UTV roll-cage tubing. Both mounting clamps allow the speakers to be attached to tubing ranging from 1-1/2" to 2" in diameter. Rubber strips are included to help protect the tubing's finish as well as provide a firm grip for the mounts.

Customer Q&A

7 questions already asked

Q
Can these be wired to MB Quart JSTMRCA2F ?
ricky  Aug 29, 2023
1 answer
A
The MB Quart JSTMRCA2F is designed to take the JST connector and convert it to RCA's for line level output to connect aftermarket stereo gear, Ricky. You can run the Boss Audio MRWT40's but you will need to also add a small aftermarket amplifier in-line between the JSTMRCA2F and the Boss speakers. The Kenwood KAC-M1814 marine rated amp in the link below can be bridged to deliver 90-watts by 2-channels and would be a great match to the Boss MRWT40's! https://www.crutchfield.com/p_113KAM1814/Kenwood-KAC-M1814.html

Q
What speakers are in these?
jerry  Aug 02, 2023
1 answer
A
Greetings Jerry, and thank you for your question. The speakers are not sold individually, only as the wake tower system. The specifications are on the overview section on our website.

Q
Can these speakers handle being bounced around on a wakeboard tower? Will they hold up to heavy rain storms? Thanks
david  Jul 03, 2019
1 answer
A
Hi David, thank you for your question. We do not show an IP rating for these speakers. They are weatherproof, but since the IP rating isn't listed, it would be hard to say exactly what they are designed to withstand. You may want to reach out to the manufacturer at 800-999-1236. The housing materials and clamping systems however are designed to withstand outdoor use, so they will be ok for use on you Wakeboard Tower.

Q
Are these blue tooth compatible or do they need a head unit to operate?
ed  Jun 03, 2019
1 answer
A
Hi Ed! These speakers will need a power source. If you don't have a head unit, you would be able to power these up with a Bluetooth amplifier! If you need any assistance with picking out the items that will work best for you, feel free to get in touch with us in our online chat service, or by phone at 1-800-324-9695. We'll be happy to help!

Q
I know these are made to mount on a round bar,but will they fit around a square tube on a golf cart roof support?
chuck  May 12, 2019
1 answer
A
This is something we have not tested. Technically, if the diagonal of the bar's cross section is in between 1.5-2" the mounting clamps will make contact with the bar, but only on the corners of the bar. I'd be concerned about that not being enough contact with the bar to hold the speaker in place My Bio: https://www.crutchfield.com/bio/Paul

Q
Are these available in white?
brian  Apr 08, 2019

A
No we only carry those in black. Here is a list of all the white, marine, tower-style speakers we carry.
