Product Research

Features

Woofer: Mica is added to an aramid and carbon fiber composite olefin base, resulting in a rigid, light, and durable cone.

Midrange: Each speaker features a 1" PEI (Poly-Ether-Imide) balanced-dome midrange; PEI is a polymer film that produces a wide soundstage for superior imaging. A semi-dome driver has a dome placed inside a cone. Balanced domes are semi-domes with equal reproduction area given the cone and dome portions of the driver.

Tweeters: Each speaker also has a 1/2" PEI (Poly-Ether-Imide) dome tweeter.

Mounting Applications: The speaker's frame features two additional mounting holes and fits many 6x8, 5x7, and custom 6x8 applications. Please check the Crutchfield Vehicle Selector to confirm fit.

Q
I know this question is kind of vague, but how is the bass output on these? I know enough not to over do the volume at a certain point. That being said, if im blasting my tunes they wont blow easily right?

I bought these speakers and a new receiver for my girlfriend. She loves the sound that now feels her little SUV. Output from the bass is just right. Definitely recommended!

I put 4 of these speakers in my 2007 Ranger. I prefer driving with my windows down instead of using the A/C whenever possible, so I was looking for good sound quality at loud volume to overcome road and wind noise. These speakers work great, whether I am listening to music or to NPR. I have had to turn the volume nearly to max on my factory stereo on occasion to hear clearly, and the speakers are fine. May need to upgrade my stereo soon, but that's another matter. Speakers are a great value.

I was pushing 125 w to them and they sounded fine. However the base output needs to be pampered a bit with backings. Overall I'm pleased with them and feel they are a great value for the money.

Originally I purchased 5" round Kenwood for 2004 Mustang front door panels to compliment 6x8 Kenwood rear deck. As you could expect there was no bass in the front and all of the sound was coming from the rear. I replaced the 5" round with these 6x8 JVC in the front door panels. Made all the difference. Full sound all around. Very happy with JVC Performance. I listen loud as well. So I would say probably not easily blown. I am only running 25 wattts / channel.

I FOUND THAT PAIRED WITH THE CORRECT AMP, THESE SPEAKERS PERFORMED GREAT. IF OVER POWERED SUCH AS WITH ANY SPEAKER THEN YOU HAVE A CHANCE OF BLOWING THEM. FOR THE MONEY THEY SHOULD DO FINE. SET YOUR AMP CORRECTLY AND INSTALLING SOUND DEADNING MATT WILL GREATLY INMPROVE THE SOUND. I HAVE FOUND THAT BY INSTALLING SOUND DEADNER SUCH AS DYNAMAT OR STINGER MAT THAT EVEN A CHEAP SET OF SPEAKERS CAN BE MADE TO SOUND PRETTY GOOD. IF YOU WANT SERIOUS SOUND THEN FOCAL WOULD BE MY CHOICE, BUT I CAN'T AFFORD THOSE SO JVC AND INFINITY WILL HAVE TO DO. GOOD LUCK !

The bass output is great. Everybody stop and ask what kind of speakers do you have?
boyd  Jun 10, 2014
A
Matt, it's all about matching the output per channel on your tuner/amp with the rating of the speaker. Personally I wouldn't run an amp through speakers that is over 80% of the RMS rating of the speaker.... always good to leave a little headroom !

That helps! Im going to go ahead and get me a pair. Thanks a lot. ~Matt

Matt B, I believe the bass output is decent for the price. However I have two stock door subs in my mustang that compliment these nicely so I've never had them playing without the door subs. I haven't blown the pair I have and they handle blasting music quite well with little to no distortion. Overall, for the price, you can't beat them. Hope this helps, Denver

Q
im a rookie when it comes to this stuff, but do these speakers require an amp to run them?

A
no ,just a receiver will do the job,of course an amp will give a cleaner richer sound, but a good mid power receiver will give good sound
kyndal a  May 15, 2014

No amp needed. They sound good using a 25 watt JVC radio.
willard j  May 14, 2014
A
It's not necessary to wire to an amp. You can wire to an amp if you like, will sound just fine wiring to the radio.
kingston  May 14, 2014

no..
steven  May 14, 2014

Teh amp in your receiver should have enough power to run them.
jimmy  May 14, 2014

They are capable of being amped for higher output, but I've got them running off my stock amp and it powers them loud enough to hurt my ears with no distortion. 2007 Ford Mustang
