Combining simplicity and customization

Throw in Bluetooth® for wireless convenience, Internet and satellite radio options, and several ways to play your library of music, and you'll enjoy a handsome, fully-featured 2" tall car stereo. Hands-free calling and wireless music streaming

Into streaming audio? JVC's Streaming DJ feature lets you pair five phones so everybody can pick their tunes for the ultimate road trip party. For the times when you're sharing the ride, the KD-T900BTS enables you to pair two phones and quickly switch between them for hands-free calling. You can also control this stereo directly from your iPhone® or Android™ phone by downloading JVC's free Remote app.

Let there be radio

You can connect a SiriusXM tuner (not included) for seriously strong satellite radio programming that won't fade away when you head out on the highway. Using your connected iPhone®, you can even control and enjoy the playlists you've created on Pandora®, iHeartRadio®, or Spotify®. Don't worry Android™ users, you can control these Internet radio stations using Bluetooth. And, of course, you can also tune in your favorite local AM and FM stations.

More ways to enjoy your music

The KD-T900BTS provides even more ways to get some music going, including a CD player and front aux input for a portable music player. You can plug your Android phone or iPhone into the front-panel USB port, and control your stored music while you charge your phone. The port can also handle music stored on a thumb drive, including high-resolution FLAC music files.

Tweak the sounds and the look

You can refine your sound with this receiver's onboard tone-shaping capabilities, including a 13-band graphic equalizer and a time alignment feature. JVC's K2 technology uses some unique processing to improve the sound of just about anything you play. If your front speakers are located down low in the doors, the Sound Lift feature adjusts your music's frequencies to virtually "raise" your speakers for better, more natural imaging. If you're adding an amplifier or a powered subwoofer, two sets of preamp outputs provide you the clean signal you need for added output.

This receiver's 2-line white display provides all your music and caller info, while its variable-color illumination lets you pick the colors for two different areas of the faceplate. There are even ten animated light choices, and the Music Sync feature lets the lights dance to the music.

Bluetooth note: Use of this receiver's Bluetooth features will depend upon your phone's Bluetooth capabilities. Learn more in our article explaining Bluetooth profiles.

iPod/smartphone note: If you're going to use your iPod or smartphone with this receiver, be sure to check "Details" for compatibility information.

Audio clarity and quality is excellent. The controls are compact (as to be expected in this size of a device), but make sense. Install was straightforward. Getting the clock to display instead of the level meter has not been easy.

Simple install in a 2007 Toyota Corolla. Relatively simple to navigate and use all features. Has great sound and plenty of functionality. Dual phone connection is extremely helpful to pair personal phone and work phone. Haven't used the additional music only BT connections, but I think this is a great idea. This unit along brings almost any current tech feature you could want to the base '07 Corolla.

    Ok.

    Pros:

Cons: Wish manufacturers would make use of the same wiring harness for specific vehicles. I already had a Pioneer installed but the plugin for the JVC wouldn't work.. I had to retire and broke the trucks plastic clip on its harness. :(

I'm liking this stereo receiver so far. It took me about 5 hours total to install in my 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee, mainly because I bypassed the factory amp which is located in the very back of the vehicle. It took time to route all the wires underneath the trim panels. But the wiring harness from Crutchfield worked great. It's awesome to finally have bluetooth audio in my Jeep!

Bought this JVC KD-T500BTS to replace a failed factory radio. Very disappointed in the JVC performance. Seemed good when I installed in late spring, but now in warmer weather (upper 80's-low 90's) it isn't so good. Multipath distortion, unable to hold a tuned FM station when driving even a few blocks. AM works better--good thing my usual stations broadcast on both AM and FM. CD player and I-Pod player work OK, it seems, but I'm a bit hesitant to give those functions any more of a good review. A factory replacement radio would have cost over 2 times what I paid for this JVC and wiring harness, and it looks like it would have been a better deal.

Have enjoyed this stereo so far - nice upgrade in terms of technology from the original stereo.

Pros: Large number of custom settings for sound (and lighting colors). Works great with the audiophile system in my F150.

Cons: A lot of button pushing to reach certain menu items but expected given the size of the stereo face limiting the number of available buttons. Didn't work initially with the USB stick for music that was working in my other cars. I need to see if there is a format issue, etc.

    2005 Scion tC

    Verified customer (What's this?)
    Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

When I decided to upgrade my 2005 Scion tC factory radio/CD player I started looking at Pioneer and Sony. The basic features I wanted were media player with USB input on the face, min 20 watts rms, blue tooth and a color scheme I could set to match my gauge cluster. What I got was do much more. The description of this head unit didn't do it justice. My intention was to replace the head unit and evaluate whether I need to upgrade the factory speakers. I'm so glad I made the decision to wait. What I felt was a basic sound system woke up with the installation of my first JVC cd/media player. I found in the audio configuration settings that asked for the size and location of the speakers, if the tweeters were integrated and the size of the vehicle to help maximize the sound. I am amazed at the huge, distortion free sound I'm getting. The reviews that speak to a poor manual, it covers the basics and directs you to the jvc website for more detail. The menus are marginally intuitive and with about 10 minutes of clicking through I had it configured for my car and was enjoying my digital sound files via usb. I highly recommend this unit as an economical upgrade that provides huge clean sound without breaking the bank.

Pros: Easy install with provided kit and instructions. Audio config to maximize performance based on speakers and car size. Bluetooth easy to pair and worked perfectly the first time. Multiple EQ configurations - preprogrammed to advanced setup to tweak it if needed.

Cons: Faceplate buttons small and difficult to find at night while driving.

I like the radio- good sound, easy to use. Some of the setting aren't clear or don't work- i.e. I've tried to change the display color 5-6 times and it appears that I've set it to red, but the color is still blue. I also wish it had a way to get a "text" of the incoming calls- i.e. who called vs the phone number. All is all, no major complaints.

It does not have quite as good fidelity as the factory radio but the additional features makes it worthwhile. My biggest complaint about the entire package was the that the instructions were not very clear. A YouTube video would be a lot more helpful.

Pros: Bluetooth phone works great once you figure out how to set the gain on the microphone.

Cons: Did I mention that the the instructions and manual need improvement?

Overall, GREAT stereo for the price. There are only slight things that I would change... first, the brightness. It sits at an upward angle in my car, so during a bright day the screen is a little harder to see even at the highest brightness setting. Second thing is the clock setting; I wish I could have the clock display at all times in the corner while still seeing the phone signal/battery. But the clock setting is all or nothing; date on one side, time on the other. So I had to turn off the phone battery level display. Lastly, wish you could go backwards on the random setting. once you skip a song, you can't hit the back button to return to it. These are all very small things in the grand scheme; overall I am pleased with the quality and features of the stereo and it's much better than my factory one was.

Great price and awesome upgrade from the failing "X-plod" unit that I endured for too long. I've done a ton of radio installs on the Civic, so installation was a breeze with the familiar wiring harness. Already had the included trim kit from the previous radio, so will use this one in my son's Civic. Yes. the T900BTS is so cool that my 19 year old has to have one !! Sound and performance is superior to anything I've had in any of my commuters to date. Tons of options, adjustments and settings. Just need to study the manual, and scroll thru the options to become familiar. Hands free calling option is new to me and very handy. Pairs with my LG Android as soon as the unit powers up. Excellent item by JVC backed by the legendary Crutchfield company.

Fun little unit. I usually go with Pioneer but this looked like it had a lot of the same features for cheaper. Good connection to my phone, as I love the Bluetooth and other features to control my Pandora and other music with the head unit. Good power also coming from the unit to the speakers I got - also JVC on a speaker deal.

Pros: Bluetooth connection and controls work great! Good features for not a very expensive unit.

Cons: If anything, the controls are a little confusing and take some getting used to.

GREAT SINGLE DIN. Honestly, this review isn't just for the items I bought. This company is GREAT all on it's own. I accidentally ordered the wrong housing, and without any hesitation they sent me the correct one, even if it was my fault 10/10 will recommend them to everyone. As business owner myself, customer service is very important to me.

I only trust JVC stereos anymore, I've had pioneers and Sony's quit after a few years but my JVC's have been continuously been reliable. The user interface is easy to figure out and the ability to adjust numerous things from colors of the screen and buttons make it so I can adjust it to match the instrument cluster or I can adjust it to see it when it's installed where it catches the glare from the sun. I will continue to buy JVC until they start failing because of quality.

Pros: Ability to adjust colors of the screen and buttons, and adjust my bass, mid and treble levels. The screen shows the name of the song/band while Bluetooth is connected.

Cons: I can't put just the clock on the main screen.

I love this receiver, it looks great and was very easy to install. You can do a good amount of tuning and there's a ton of ways to listen to your music. Also the crutchfield instructions that came with it were absolutely awesome!!! For being my first time replacing a factory stereo it was a breeze thanks to them. I also did my research and couldn't come close on the price considering it came with the install kit!!! Thanks crutchfield!

Nice unit. It probably has more features than I thought it would have. Lots of ways to adjust your sound.

Pros: Nice sound for a reasonably priced unit. The technical support at Crutchfield was outstanding.

Cons: Because of the small size of the unit, the buttons are rather small. Somewhat difficult to follow directions to set up the radio once it was installed.

I Needed a hands free solution to connect a phone and music to my daughters car. The JVC KD-T900bts does this and a lot more. Not only does it fill the needs i had, but also sounds better than the OEM stereo. Buying from Crutchfield made it very easy to get everything i needed to complete the install. The Dash trim, Factory Wiring connectors, steering Wheel Controller and antenna adapter. (I would have missed the ant. adapter) All this and install directions for under $150.00 Wow

Pros: Good sound, all the iPhone hands free features and great price.

Cons: iDatalink's Maestro ADS-MRR module not compatible with apple computer. Had to use friends PC to program .

Great system for the price. I found installation was simple and there are many features to this car stereo system. So many, that I found the instruction booklet was weak in describing the steps to program the receiver. I wound up going through the steps over and over until I found the settings I wanted. I still can't seem to get to the Blue-Tooth microphone adjustment level. I would prefer to make it louder for others to hear me when I am on the phone. It would also be great if pressing the phone button triggered the hands-free calling (like Siri) in my other vehicles. I bought matching speakers and the entire system from Crutchfield, and I don't think I could have gotten a better deal anywhere else in the world. My tip: Spring for the pre-wired loom. It saved a ton of time and made the installation a snap! Thank you Crutchfield!

Pros: Quick install - Easy to use - once you understand the programming.

    Cons: Setup guide is weak.

Very good sounding through my existing speakers. Much better than the stock Dodge Uconnect 130 stereo/CD player. The rear mounted microphone jack is a bit of a pain in the butt. I was able to feed the mike plug through an opening in the Metra 99-6511 mounting kit pocket just below the new JVC unit. This could be a problem with other vehicle installations. Other than that, I am very pleased with the quality of sound and performance of the tuner and the CD player. Well worth the money!

The radio and speakers were delivered quickly in time for a holiday installation. The instructions were comprehensive and the additional adapters were a welcome addition, at no charge. When it was discovered that some of the mounting adapters weren't included, Crutchfield sent them out with an arrival only 1 1/2 days later! Later, I found an antenna adapter was going to be needed. They sent that out to me at no additional charge! I cannot express how customer-oriented Crutchfield is and how amazing their customer service people perform. I give them a huge thumbs-up! unit installed as promised, it sounds great, sent me all the parts I needed. Bluetooth pared with my two phones with no problem.cd player and usb played my music fine, the only issue, that is frustrating, is when you switch folders, or change sources, with the usb thumb drive inserted, the darn thing goes back to the first song, I have 500 songs on my 32 gig thumb drive, split in two folders, if you shut it off with the car, its fine, stays where you left off, but change sources or folders, then its back to song 1. and its not easy to scroll to where you should have been.

In general I'm highly satisfied with my JVC car radio. I wanted to add XM radio and Bluetooth phone connectivity to my 2002 Porsche Boxter but I didn't want to make any irreversible modifications to my classic car. The excellent folks at Crutchfield made that possible by making me a plug-and-play wiring harness. And the radio fit perfectly. It slid right into the the slot where the original DIN style factory radio once was. The radio works great. My only negative comment is that the JVC instruction booklet just sucks. Sadly, I find that most all of the instruction booklets from just about all electronics products are very poor, and JVC's booklet leaves a lot to be desired. On the bright side, when I just couldn't figure out on my own how to set all 18 available XM station presets, a super helpful and knowledgeable tech person at Crutchfield patiently talked me thru the setup procedure. The folks at Crutchfield could not have been more helpful.

Amazing stereo, really an upgrade from the stock stereo in sound quality and features, only complaint is that when plugging in my phone to the USB port on the stereo and using Spotify for music, the phone becomes disabled and Spotify can only be controlled with the buttons on the stereo. A bummer for when I have someone riding shotgun who wants to dj and charge and use Spotify to queue songs.

Pros: Better sound quality, fun lights, instant pairing with iPhone via bluetooth

Cons: Unable to control Spotify from iPhone via usb jack when connected, requires the stereo buttons to be used instead of the phone

    Audio Section

24 Bit D/A Converter: The JVC KD-T900BTS in-dash CD receiver utilizes a 24-bit (DAC (digital-to-analog converter) for superior sound quality.

MOSFET Amplifier: The JVC KD-T900BTS is equipped with a MOSFET amplifier. Compared to conventional power supplies, the MOSFET amplification circuit is smaller and more efficient, and it delivers increased power with less distortion and absolutely zero on/off switching noise. More power means louder and cleaner music at higher volumes because you're not pushing the limits of the amplification circuit. The power output specs for the KD-T900BTS are as follows:

    • Full Bandwidth Power: 22 watts RMS x 4 channels (at 4 ohms, 20-20kHz, 1% THD)
    • Maximum Output Power: 50 watts x 4 channels (200 total watts)

Amp Gain: When you are using the KD-T900BTS with factory speakers (or those rated to less than 50 watts peak), the Amplifier Gain Control can limit the amount of power being sent to those speakers. When the Amp Gain Control is set to "low," the volume control ranges from 0 (minimum) to 25 (maximum). When using speakers rated higher than 50 watts peak, you can set the Amp Gain Control to "high," and the volume control will range from 0 to 35.

2.5V/4CH Preamp Output: The KD-T900BTS is equipped with two pair of 2.5V preamp outputs (Front, Rear/SW). You can set the Rear/SW preamp outputs for connecting a pair of full-range rear speakers (through an external amplifier) or for connecting a subwoofer (through an external amplifier). When set for rear speakers, the rear outputs operate with the unit's fader control. When set for subwoofer, these outputs are non-fading and offer an independent level control (-50 to +10).

Subwoofer Speaker Connection: You can connect a subwoofer to this head unit without the need of a separate power amplifier. Simply connect a single subwoofer (4-8 ohm) directly to head unit's left rear speaker leads (the right rear speaker output will be muted). The rated power output for the subwoofer speaker channel remains 22 watts. Same subwoofer controls apply, except the subwoofer level adjustment is from -6 to +3.

Vehicle Setup: In order to optimize the sound quality in your vehicle, you can indentify the type of vehicle you have and the rear speaker location, as well as configure listening distances.

    • Car Type: Select your car type to automatically set the delay time of each speaker for timing adjustment of sound output of each channel to have the highest surround effect. Choose from Compact, Full Size Car, Wagon, Mini Van, SUV, or Off
    • Rear Speaker Location: You can indicate the location of your vehicle's Rear speakers. Choose from Door, Rear Deck, 2nd Row, or 3rd Row.
    • DTA (Digital Time Alignment): For a better sound-stage you can select your optimal listening position. You can choose from All, Front Left, Front Right or Front. You can also select to manually fine tune the sound stage, using Digital Time Alignment (DTA) by selecting the distance (0-20') for each individual speaker in the vehicle compared to your listening position.

    • 3-Band Easy EQ: The head unit's Easy EQ consists of a 3-band equalizer (Treble, Mid, & Bass). You can adjust the Treble, Mid, & Bass from -9 to +9.

Hi Allison: Since I have purchased this radio, I have not had much time to experiment with different operational functions. Your best option would be to contact Crutchfield ( Highly Recommended ) for this information. However, I can attest that the radio does produce excellent sound and performance quality. Sorry that I was not much help to you..

My suggestion to Luis R. is that he confer with the professionals at Crutchfield. I myself am new to all of this. Crutchfield was a big help to me in deciding my purchase with them. My phone, which is an Android works perfectly with my radio. I wish that I could have been of more help.
