An Excellent Value
Jeremy from Nicholasville, KY on 6/6/2022
This moderately priced receiver packs the punch of a much more expensive one. All the sound controls plus JVC's excellent sound enhancement technologies work together to produce wonderful sound quality. The onboard amplifier provides clean, reasonably loud sound. A tip: if you're not familiar with the many audio controls this receiver offers, don't adjust them until you've familiarized yourself. They're very powerful tools that work extremely well when used correctly, but set incorrectly they will ruin the sound.
Pros: Audiophile-grade features and sound quality at a moderate price. The choice of display colors that can also go along with the beat of the music is a nice touch.
Cons: Pressing and holding the small button to access the settings is a bit of an annoyance, and once inside the menu it takes some scrolling to get what you want. The display is fine, but does wash out in bright, direct sunlight.

display too dim and too reflective to read.
mike from Portland, OR on 5/10/2022
2005 Ford Focus ZX4
wanted to like this unit but was too dim in the text illumination. was hoping the "vertical line led" display would be bright in daylight but its much dimmer than the factory green led on this old 2005 ford focus. the led display is dimmer (even at highest setting of 31) but also, the plastic lens is much more reflective where i get no clear vantage point. there seems to be minimal reflective coating on the plastic as well as two or more levels of plastic lenses covering the unit further amplifying the reflections from passenger car window making it really hard to read the display during the day. id do like the customizable features, power, fm reception but alas, if i cant see it, it aint going to work. need to return this item unfortunately. the images enclosed show the same vantage point during day of the unit followed by the stock ford unit.

Really Happy esp for Price
William from Indianapolis, IN on 5/4/2022
2002 Toyota Camry Solara
Cheap head unit that does exactly what I wanted. I spent the extra money to get a premade harness from Crutchfield, so the total installation was less than 45 min. Bluetooth pairs every time, and the color range is wide enough I was able to find a color that matches my dash lights for a more factory style look. The in unit amp adds just a little oopmf to the speakers and the subwoofer RCA outputs made a amp/sub install a breeze.
Pros: Price Bluetooth Fit and finish Color Range EQ Crutchfield Support
Cons: sticks out more that factory HU difficult to read when sunny even at max brightness

Nice upgrade from OEM
Crutchfield customer from ROCHESTER, NY on 5/2/2022
Good, easy Bluetooth connectivity. Nice radio reception. Sound quality is a definitely upgrade from OEM. I am able to match the color to my other dash lights perfectly. Thumbs up to Crutchfield support helping me get this ordered. The ReadyHarness service is worth every penny! The readout on the LCD panel is not very bright. It's fine in overcast weather or at night but A little hard to see in bright sunlight. One minor note on the installation instructions - it says to unscrew the airbag light from dash panel, but on mine one screw is obstructed. No issue, though I was able to easily complete the install without doing this.
Pros: Variable color illumination. Good bluetooth, easy pairing. Nice sound quality.
Cons: LCD readout could be brighter

This is a great, feature packed radio at a good price. I installed this in my classic 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. I opted to use a Metra universal under dash kit instead of cutting up the dash. It looks great. I use the bluetooth feature to stream SiriusXM from my iPhone and the radio displays the song being played on SiriusXM. I haven't tried the app to control the radio yet, but I plan to. Overall a very nice radio.

ATLANTA
Moshe from ATLANTA on 2/21/2022
Love it but with one minor annoyance. This is a great head unit for a Wrangler. I've got an 02 soft top wrangler with half doors, I was never going to have symphony sound but needed something which had some punch and tuning capabilities. The JVC drives my soundbar kickers, Sound Ordnance Sub and my dash kickers via a 2ch amp. With all the EQ settings I was able to adjust the sound profiles so I can actually hear the music VS is just being loud. Highly recommended for the price point. My one gripe is the location of the source button being just above track forward. I often will bump the source button when aiming for track forward.

Nice unit! It's smaller size makes installation a bit easier than a CD playing unit. My Saturn Vue doesn't have a lot of space for head units. I also love the sound quality and how easy it was to set up. It was also really easy to hook up my amp and sub.

We were very pleased with this radio! We purchased it to update an older vehicle's radio which did not offer Bluetooth or a USB port. My teenage daughter and myself were able to install this on our own thanks to the wonderful installation guide and the pre-wiring option provided by Crutchfield. As for the radio, it exceeded our expectations! It works very well and even lists the artist's name/song title. We had no issues pairing through Bluetooth either. The lights were an added bonus and lots of fun to adjust to a variety of settings!

Great unit
Crutchfield customer from Springfield, MO on 10/12/2021
Came with everything I needed to replace an 2000'ish head unit in 94 F150. The old unit was missing half the install kit and was never installed right, but this installed perfectly and is snug. All features work great. Bluetooth pairs each time I start up without issue, which was the primary reason for switching. Much louder and clearer than my old head unit without any other changes. Only minor annoyances I've had is the FWD/RW buttons are a bit small and hard to hit with the volume knob in the way. Could just be my big fingers, but I use my phone controls most of the time anyway. The other oddity was the lights on the bottom pulsing to the music which was annoying at night. This took me a minute to figure out how to disable, but it can be done and hasn't been an issue since. For the price I don't think you can get any better. We'll see how long it last, but hopefully it's a solid unit.

Just what I needed.

My wife and I are 100% SiriusXM in the car. So when we got a second car (2005) equipt with a Cd/cassette/AM&FM stereo...that first trip to the grocery store with 20min of commercials on FM...we couldn't take it. This stereo (with SiriusXM unit purchased separately) is everything we wanted. It was easy to install. It looks great. It sounds great. I didn't grow up with "touch screen" stereos, so setting up my preferences wasn't a headache.
Pros: Easy install. Looks great. Sounds great. I am happy and would purchase it again.
Cons: NOT A CON FOR ME, BUT: Setting up your preferred stations, bass and treble levels, etc requires a bit of patience/time as it is a "push button/knob" radio rather than a touch screen. I sat in the car in my driveway for 20 min and got everything set, no worries. If you are someone who wants to adjust the bass at a stop sign this radio might not be for you.

This was a low cost option to replace a dead factory receiver in my 2006 Dodge Ram and after hearing how great it sounded I should have replaced it earlier. Hands free calling was a great upgrade as I didn't have it before. Install was a piece of cake. The instructions provided by Crutchfield along with the dash kit made it really simple. This head unit is simple yet effective at delivering modern functionality at a modest price. Easy to install. Nice features for the money. Phone pairing was straightforward.
Pros: Easy install Brings modern features to older vehicles

All honesty this isn't what I was looking for..truly wanted the indash screen,etc...but car break ins are very common in my area and even though anyone/anywhere can be a target..just didn't want it to easy for thieves considering I can remove the face..on a second note..this receiver is pretty nice..it made my system sound alot more clear than my previous Kenwood ..plenty of options to make system sound as you want for what you might pushing ,even with the 4 volt preamp output for the amplifiers is definitely a plus..im definitely happy with this product
Pros: Many options on sound leveling/tweaking out systems/4 volt preamp outputs/Amazon Alexa if your into that..easy to manage
Cons: Can't seem to find any..

A mediocre stereo at best
Jack from Denver, CO on 7/6/2021
2020 Honda HR-V
The receiver looks nice and offers a decent amount of EQ/Audio options. It was easy to install and works great overall. However, there have been a few occasions in which my audio disconnects for several seconds at random, this happens during Bluetooth playback and playback via a usb/iPhone cable. In addition, there have been a couple of times when the audio sent to the speakers is distorted and I have to turn down the volume and wait several minutes before the sound returns to normal. This is a decent stereo for an upgrade over a stock radio but I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking to upgrade your whole system, it has its flaws.
Pros: Looks nice, easy to install, decent amount of audio control options.
Cons: Inconsistent audio signal, loses connectivity at random.

9 month review
skyy from Louisville, KY on 12/10/2020
2005 Subaru Forester
Fantastic little radio, has a lot of useable features at a great price. I have had mine for about 9months now and the only real issue I had was mine sometimes takes a minute to connect to my phone but since it will still auto connect when taking longer and happens so infrequently I am not going to knock a star off. The radio usually connects to my phone before Spotify even loads up my playlist so, fast. This radio has been in my car in the summer where I believe the temps exceeded 90 degrees F and now in winter where it has fallen into the low 20s and still just works no issues. Phone quality is pretty good with sound quality and microphone range. Alexa works great, however you do need the Alexa app on your phone to text people with voice control. Lastly and most importantly BT audio quality, the quality was noticeably better than the stock head unit however I did lose the ability to use the factory sub but it was going out so no real issue there. Oh and I was able to change the faceplate to be the same color as my interior gauges which was a nice bonus. P.S. I did get the ready harness service which made installation a breeze would recommend if you don't know or have all the tools to wire a harness.
Pros: Voice control, color changing faceplate, BT source with independent Spotify and Pandora source modes for more control.
Cons: You need Alexa app for sending hands free texts and glossy finish on faceplate can get pretty dirty but easy to clean with a microfiber.

Just bought a used '01 Honda Accord that badly needed a new sound system. I am glad to have bought this head unit; it has drastically helped the sound quality of the speakers in the car, which are still factory speakers from 19 years ago. This sound system allows the car to sound like it belongs some place better than backing an old church choir. Very glad I bought this product. Would recommend to a friend. The only complaint I have is that it fails to hold time on its clock (which very well could be a required firmware update/user error/a mistake in soldering and install); I have to reset the time on it every time I turn on the car. Which, again, could easily be a problem in the constant power from the battery. So all in all, as a younger driver that is tight on money, I love the new head unit, and would get it again.
Pros: - Affordable - Bluetooth + Alexa + SiriusXM compatible -Max volume of 35 - Plenty of preset EQ settings, but also the ability to EQ it yourself - Much, much more
Cons: Does not hold a time, but can be switched to not show the clock.

Save a Bundle on radio's at Crutchfield !
Crutchfield customer from Maxwelton, WV on 6/22/2020
I got on line to see if i could order a radio for my F-150 that the interface went bad so does the radio . Both cost around $900.00 to replace. so when i phoned Crutchfield i told the person whom answer my call what has happen and that i haven't put in a radio in 45 Years , His name was Dexter , He put me threw what i would need to replace the unit in my truck. I asked that i need everything to hook it up and not cut a wire ! I had picked out a radio but he advised me that i could get a hole lot better Radio for me for just a little more money, he gave me the price of a JVC that would have the interface and everything i needed to hook it up for right around $ 167.00 I received it the 2 day Install under and Hour and it works create. I programmed the stations i liked . Then can the time to put in my phone #'s for my contacts . i just couldn't make sense out of it . So as phoned JVC a gentleman help me get them in in less than 5 minutes. Looks like both of these companies are out to give their best in service !! Now my radio is great and sounds a lot better than my OEM. Thanks Lewis Baker
Pros: So far love everything!!
Cons: Lettering could be a little larger or the face !!

Perfectly fine and adds some punch
Crutchfield customer from Orangeburg, SC on 6/15/2020
Seems fine so far. Put this in my son's car. I'll let him figure out the customization and app. Sound quality is very good. Installed this in a 2003 Saab 9-3, parallel to the factory system so it could retain vehicle system tones and blinker sounds on the old fiber-optic bus.
Pros: Simple wiring, good sound quality, lots of customization options
Cons: Doesn't exactly fit in a 2003 Saab 9-3, but nothing is designed to replace that factory system anyway.

1987 Chevrolet El Camino
This is the 4th jvc stereo I own and haven't had any problems with the other 3 they were DD so they wouldn't fit into my 87 El camino I saw this stereo and it is basically just like the bigger stereos but smaller it has the same features as my others except this one has Alexa so that is a nice addition it has 3 sets of preouts so you don't have to choose network rear and sub which is a plus easy to read screen buttons are a little small but easy to navigate features does not come with a remote but I found one online I would definitely get one has nice color sections and screen configurations bad as unit for little money if you're on a budget definitely get this unit you will not be disappointed it even made my 30+ year old speakers sound alot better than the original radio which the car had still but I will be changing those out soon anyways but I could definitely tell the difference so far only downside is no remote and buttons are kinda small thats all I found wrong pros bright clear screen nice color configuration phone hooks right up to Bluetooth wife could hear through mic when I called her definitely worth the money oh yeah it does not play cds so it is a tad smaller than the older units
Pros: Great sound Great color configurations Bright clear screen Alot of features
Cons: Small buttons No remote but you can find them online Does have detachable face but no case to put it in so that is basically useless

2011 Ford Crown Victoria
Install was easy and Crutchfield support was 1st class. Connected the KD-X370BTS to two amps, one for the front speakers and one for the subwoofers. Was working great then while adjusting settings the front speakers stopped working, and there is no front fader option - only goes from 00 - R15 - no F at all. Amps are powered up and appear to be working. Spent time on support call but no solution. I will need to go get a volt-meter to see if there is power coming from the front RCA jacks behind the unit. Although it seems like a software issue since front fader is no longer an option. Started great then went downhill...
Pros: Easy install. Sounded GREAT!
Cons: Lost the front speaker output.

Excellent, compact digital music player
Crutchfield customer from Worcester, MA on 12/2/2019
2008 Honda Element LX
When the in-dash receiver in my 11 year old car stopped working, I was looking for a good performing, affordable replacement to handle my digital music collection. Although the original unit had included a CD player, I no longer needed that feature since I had already converted my 500+ CD's to FLAC. I had also previously upgraded my speakers and added a sub (w/amp) years ago, so all I needed was a single-DIN unit with a moderate amount of power, 4 speaker connections and sub pre-outs. This compact little unit from JVC fit the bill perfectly, with the added bonus of F&R pre-outs in case I want to add more power later (though it's plenty loud with my Polk speakers, so I doubt I'll need to. It's also very nice looking, with a clean design and customizable lighting, so it looks great in my dash. There are also many new features available that I never had before - like phone connectivity - that I look forward to using as well.
Pros: Surprisingly full featured for such an affordable unit. Very compact, so an easy fit in my dash with room behind to spare.
Cons: There's a lot of functionality and customizability via the settings menus, but the included manual doesn't have much detail about all the various settings. I have all my music in folders organized by artist and album, but the display shows the artist folders by number instead of artist (folder) name. The info for each song displays correctly though, so not a big concern. These are the only two reasons I didn't award 5 stars. I'm very happy with this purchase.
