An amp that wont cramp your style !

This amp is a decent model that provides above nominal power for smaller cars or convertibles. Fits in trunk easy, does not rob a bunch power from the battery and in bridged mode powers a 10" sub woofer fairly well. A light duty must have...

Great Value

I installed this amp with a Rockford Fosgate P1S48 8" subwoofer. The sub is rated at 150W RMS so this amp is a perfect match. I mainly chose the amp because of it's small size so I could install it on the side of my trunk. I have a small trunk and didn't want to lose any floor space. Overall, this amp is a great value and perfect for a small sub. Pros: Small Easy to install and use Cost Cons: Crossover frequency is not adjustable No Bass boost

Worked well to power a 10" JL sub/enclosure in my Camry. It supplements my 22W RMS head unit nicely. Great price.

Value Leader Amp

Tim from West Allis, WI on 7/3/2010

The power rating is deceptively low. While I was seeking a modest subwoofer amp, this amp creates sound that exceeds the modest rating while remaining very clean. With an Eclipse head on one side, and a Pioneer sub/enclosure on the other, I found myself dialing back the bass for some good, clean, tight low end augmentation of an already nice system. The results are truly stunning. Installation is as simple as any other amp. Bridging channels was easy. Eclipse's built-in crossover and auto EQ, combined with the level control of the amp, did a great job of dialing in the right frequency response. It's small and doesn't produce all that much heat, so you have many mounting options. I'd strongly suggest this amp.

Small amp, big power

I was looking to simply add some bass and this amp has given so much more. Paired with the Bazooka ELB112RS 12" sub which I also got from here, the duo puts out lotsa thump inside the roomy cabin of my Isuzu Rodeo. And Crutchfield's installation instructions are so straightforward that a car audio newbie like me can do it singlehandedly.

Just installed this AMP and matched it up with the Bazooka 10" sub box. Gives plenty of power to make them hit just right. Can't beat the Ultra low price either. Thanks Crutchfield.

Great, low-priced product

I was looking to upgrade the factory amp to power the factory sub in my 2010 Honda Element. However, as most Element owners discover, there's not much space for an amp, especially under the passenger seat -- I wanted to make sure everything looked stock. The choice was between this JVC amp and a Sony slim-line amp, which costs almost twice times as much but is slightly smaller. I went with the JVC and it fits almost perfectly. I say almost because I still had to make a cut on a plastic cover that conceals the passenger seat mounting bracket. But the cut isn't noticeable unless you pull out the seat. Granted it's been less than a week, but, so far, even I'm stunned with how good the weak factory sub sounds.

Great for a small sub

I teamed this amp with a Bazooka 10" sub in bridged mode and I'm very happy with the results. There is plenty of thump coming out of the back without shaking the paint off my car. I'm using this in Ford Focus, so you might want something a bit bigger for a larger car or an SUV.

Great amp for a Great price

I bought this amp because my subs were overpowering my back 6by9s and it didnt sound very good. so i started looking around and found this amp 65 rms x 2 channels and is cea certifed for the price i couldnt pass it up. it gives my back 6by9s alot of power and now sounds great i can actually hear my speakers now with the bass blending in sounds really good. i know theres alot better amp brands out there but this amp gets the job done for me really well. would recomend this amp to anyone. i love the option between the lpf and hpf. i turn it to the lpf setting and it takes the deep bass out which i love cauz thats what my subs are for. when i get a little more money this amp will be for my fronts and i will get the jvc 100 watt x 2 for the rear.... great buy!!

For the price, I have no complaints. I somehow accidently ordered two of these, but now I am glad that I did. I have one running two component 6.5's and tweeters in the rear, and one bridged to an Infinity 12" woofer. Niether are barley turned up and deliver what I was hoping for and more. For the price I definatly couldnt ask for anymore.

Nice little amp

I bought this to replace a 20 year old amp. I was never overly impressed by the old amp and the new one trumps it on every front. It's smaller, runs much cooler, and pumps out more than enough clean power to run two 6 1/2" speakers. My how solid state audio has improved over 20 years! It cleanly installed under the front seat and has worked perfectly since the initial power-up. I have absolutely no issues with this purchase. It's also nice to see that Crutchfield has kept up its level of service over the years.

Good value for the money

Bought this amp to power some front speakers in a 2007 ford expedition (kenwood H.U.). It's nice and compact to easily fit under the seat. Had no problems with installation or anything. It seems to provide it's rated power specs running through a set of low-end pioneer 6x8's along with the stock tweeters in my truck. S/N ration could be a bit better compared to other amps but it doesn't affect clarity at all. Music is clean and powerful. It's not something that will blow you away but for running a set of low to mid level speakers or components, this works very well. My wife wanted a little more kick in the truck (without any speaker boxes, etc.) and this accomplished it with ease. At this price, you won't find anything better, only much worse.

Great amp for small woofer or rear speakers

Chris from Birmingham, AL on 3/7/2010

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

I have been pretty impressed with this JVC amplifier. I had it powering two rear 6.5 Infinity reference speakers, and it definitely made them sound better then running them straight off the deck. The bass was richer, and highs were a little more crisp. I decided to get a subwoofer, so I am now running the bridge to go to a Bazooka 1014 base tube, and it sounds great. You definitely get the full 135 RMS wattage with this amp. I have the gain at probably 30% and the tube has more power than it can handle. Despite being an AB class I have not found the amp get very hot either, but I just installed my woofer this weekend, so I will keep an eye on it. Powering the two rear speakers I never felt the amp get any hotter than just warm to touch. I probably over did the power supply with 6 gauge wire, but I think even with 8 gauge you would probably get ample power for this amp. The crossover is nice with low, high, and off. I have it off, and control with the head unit, but I like having the option from the amp. Highly recommended for the price. No cons so far.

Features

CEA-2006 Compliant: The specifications given by JVC for the KS-AX3002 amplifier comply with CEA-2006 Amplifier Power Standards from the CEA (Consumer Electronics Association). All manufacturers who comply with the standard can display the CEA-2006 logo on their product.

Tri-Mode: When using appropriate passive crossovers on all speakers, the KS-AX3002 can power two stereo speakers (4Ω minimum with a high-pass passive crossover) and a single subwoofer (4Ω minimum with a low-pass passive crossover) simultaneously.

Controls

Internal Crossover: The amplifier's internal crossover can be set to HPF (high-pass filter), LPF (low-pass filter), or Off (full range, the crossover is bypassed). The high-pass crossover point is 150 Hz and the low-pass crossover point is 80 Hz. Both crossover's slope is 12dB/octave.
