About the JVC KW-M150BT

Feature-packed short chassis

A 6.75" capacitive touchscreen display, smartphone integration, and a nice price makes JVC's KW-M150BT multimedia receiver a big step up from a factory radio. Count on hands-free calling, music streaming, and playback of music and video files stored on a USB flash drive as well. For Android™ users, the big fun of this receiver is controlling your compatible Android device via screen-mirroring when the parking brake is engaged. And with an incredibly shallow chassis (3" deep), the KW-M150BT beats installation woes by being a better fit in challenging dashboards.

Built-in Bluetooth® lets you wirelessly pair your phone with the KW-M150BT for hands-free calling and music-streaming from your favorite music service.

Add an optional backup cam

JVC provides a dedicated input for adding a backup cam. And if you have high-def video files loaded onto a flash drive, this JVC will play them in bright, clear detail when you're parked.

Shape-sculpting tools

Make the most of JVC's 13-band equalizer, deep crossover settings, and built-in digital time alignment. You'll have solid tools to highlight the depth and detail for all your digital music sources. The KW-M150BT also includes 2-volt RCA preamp outputs that provide a clean signal when it's time to add amplifiers to your system.

    Audio/Video Connectivity

AV Input: The JVC KW-M150BT is outfitted with a rear-panel AV input which consists of a composite video jack and stereo RCA jacks for connection of an external audio/video device such as a DVD player, game console or TV tuner.

Video Output: A single RCA composite video-output jack allows you to an add external monitor such as rear headrest monitor (sold separately). The video output can display the AV-input or USB video signal when its selected as the receiver's source, regardless if the vehicle's parking brake is engaged or not. Android mirrored content is not supported by the receiver's video output.

Rear Camera Input: The unit features a composite video input for connecting an optional rear view camera, such as the Kenwood CMOS-230 (113CMOS230, sold separately). By connecting a rear view camera, you can use the in-dash receiver's touchscreen monitor to see what's behind you when backing up.

    • Parking Guide Lines: When a rear-view camera is connected and you are viewing a rear view image, parking guide lines appear on-screen making parking easy and safer. There are three color-coded horizontal guidelines and two vertical guidelines.
    • Rear-View Auto Switching: The rear view camera video automatically displays when the vehicle is shifted into Reverse gear. The purple/white wire (attached to rear-chassis) must be connected to the vehicle's reverse lamp circuit for automatic video switching. Automatic video switching takes approximately 0.8 seconds.
Note: The rear view camera feature is meant as a back-up aid only; never solely rely on the rear-view camera when backing-up. In addition to using the rear-view camera, always look behind you to make sure everything is clear when backing up your vehicle.

Will the factory mic for hands-free bluetooth calling still work. 2010 suburban, Bose (not premium), no Nav?

Only if the factory mic plugs in the same as the one provided. If your factory mic is integrated into the harness it probably will not work

Can this unit display the backup camera at all times while driving?
    [ Ed1408  Dec 29, 2020 ]
    2 answers
No, only when you engage the reverse gear in your car , otherwise can be distracting and cause an accident
    [ MARCO  Dec 29, 2020 ]
Sure, it all depends on how you wire it. The Kenwood has no idea if you are in reverse. If it gets a signal on the camera wire it's going to show that image. Tap the camera to a 12v ignition source and not the reverse lights and the camera will cone on. But now you won't see the stereo display unless you add a switch to kill the camera power.

Will this unit Auto resume last function after an incoming call is ended?
    [ Steven  Dec 24, 2020 ]
    2 answers
Yes but the music audio seems quieter after the phone call, at least on mine
    [ Justin  Dec 25, 2020 ]
Most of the time. After you turn car off it doesnt always turn on at same function next time. Most of the time you have to reconnect bluetooth device but yes it should resume same function after a call
    [ BERTRAM  Dec 24, 2020 ]
How to connect to the car's speaker? Is it just simply tapped into the corresponding position speaker?
    [ Stephen  Dec 23, 2020 ]
    1 answer
It depends on what car you have. If you have a factory amp you might need an interface. But generally yes. If you look up your car on crutchfield they likely have adapter harness and interface they will recommend.

The touchscreen does not mimic my phone when it's plugged in if I touch anywhere on the screen it just shows an arrow on the left if I push an app or anything or just touch every part of it it will eventually go to whatever is on the left. I have a Samsung galaxy note 10+ and the jvc mirroring is years old and no update is that why it's not working will there be an update? Besides that everything works except the backup camera it says no signal...

What's needed to install this in a 2009 chevy silverado?
    [ mark  Jul 18, 2020 ]
    1 answer
A mounting kit, wiring interface, and antenna adapter will be needed to install it. The wiring interface will vary depending on the stock system and the various abilities it has that you want to keep working with the new radio. I recommend contacting an advisor on 1-800-324-9695 to discuss this and get a personal recommendation on those installation parts.

Will this show song/ artist name while playing radio or Pandora or from your music file ?
    [ Kristina  May 22, 2020 ]
    1 answer
Hi Kristina, the JVC KW-M150BT supports playback of stored music and music apps, along music browsing and playback control, plus song/artist information and album art, for newer iPhone's when connected via USB to the receiver with an Apple Certified lightening cable. This receiver is not compatible with 30-pin Apple devices. The receiver does feature Radio Data Systems, which will allow you to tune in stations by genre, and read text information from the FM station, on the radio display. Chat with us online or by phone at 1-800-324-9695. We will be happy to help you if you need further assistance.

I am not sure, but it does come with a USB, and Audio inputs (similar to a home stereo receiving unit) so I believe you should be able to hookup an external cd changer to it.

Q1: Does this support Android Auto? Q2: Does this support OnStar ?
    [ Kalten  Oct 02, 2019 ]
    1 answer
This receiver does not support Android Auto. It can work with the Mirroring OB for JVC app which can be used to see video and hear audio from an Android device running OS 7.0 or higher. As for OnStar, the ability to retain it will depend on the wiring interfaces for the vehicle. I'd recommend contacting an advisor on 1-800-324-9695 to check your vehicle for wiring interfaces that can install a new radio while keeping OnStar working too.
