You can also enjoy a wide range of media options, like Pandora® and SiriusXM, and use the extensive sound shaping controls to get the sound you want.

Apple CarPlay®

CarPlay seamlessly integrates your iPhone into the driving experience, thanks to a slick interface that puts iPhone content right at your fingertips. You'll be able to access your music library, audiobooks, phone, messages, navigation, and many third-party streaming music apps, too. Learn more at www.apple.com/ios/carplay.

JVC KW-<730BT

Works with Apple and Android smartphones

Android Auto

If you're an Android user, this receiver is ready for your phone, too. You'll love how Android Auto integrates the popular platform into the driving experience without distracting you from the job at hand — driving . You'll have easy voice access to Google Maps, weather, music, and apps, not to mention your text messages. And you can make calls, too, of course. Get more info at www.android.com/auto.

Built-in Bluetooth®

The KW-M730BT's built-in Bluetooth lets you enjoy wireless streaming for music, podcasts, and audiobooks, plus hands-free phone calls. You can install the included wired microphone close to you, so callers can hear you loud and clear. You'll also get voice control when pairing an iPhone with Siri. And this receiver can quickly switch between two paired phones, which is really handy when your vehicle is used by more than one driver.

Music, music, music

If you enjoy Internet radio on your iPhone® or Android™, you'll have a blast playing music from Pandora and Spotify through this receiver. If you're looking for radio stations that won't disappear when you head into the hills, add a SiriusXM tuner and enjoy satellite radio's rich selection of programs wherever you go. A highly sensitive AM/FM tuner will catch all your local stations.

Even more media options

Sometimes you want to hear your own favorite road mixes, and the KW-M730BT has you covered there, too. You'll find a rear aux input for a portable music player, and two rear USB ports that can handle your digital music files, as well as tunes from your iPhone or Android. This JVC will even play 192kHz/24-bit high-resolution audio files that you've loaded on a thumb drive. The display will show video when you're parked, and you can show video on the go to your backseat passengers if you add optional screens in back.

Customize your sound

Once you've chosen your tunes, you can perfect your sound with a vast array of sound controls, including a 13-band graphic equalizer and digital time alignment. JVC's K2 technology helps restore depth and detail to digital music from all sorts of sources. And, because most car speakers are located low in the doors, the KW-M730BT also offers Sound Lift, which adjusts your music's frequencies to virtually "raise" your speakers for better, more natural imaging.

Three pairs of hot 4-volt RCA preamp outputs provide an ultra-clean signal when it's time to add amplifiers to your system. JVC also includes variable color illumination and a customizable layout for the display, letting you pick the look that works in your dash.

Keep factory features with iDatalink Maestro

The KW-M730BT offers compatibility you won't find in many other aftermarket radios, thanks to the iDatalink Maestro module (sold separately). The module lets you keep factory features in your Chrysler, Ford, GM, Toyota, Fiat, or VW vehicle that you'd otherwise lose when you install a new radio. You'll also be able to check out expanded functionality on the JVC's screen, including gauges, climate controls, a distance sensor, and tire pressure and temperature monitors. It'll even integrate your stealth K40 radar detector into the stereo's display, so you can see and hear about incoming threats (coming soon).

Want to keep your steering wheel controls?

In most cars, you'll need an adapter to retain those controls with this car stereo. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and radio, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls. You'll see the adapters that work with your vehicle when you add this receiver to your cart.

Bluetooth note: Use of this receiver's Bluetooth features will depend upon your phone's Bluetooth capabilities.Learn more in our article explaining Bluetooth profiles.

Smartphone note: If you're going to use your smartphone with this receiver, be sure to check "Details" for compatibility information.

    Solid unit

Huge upgrade from the factory stereo on my 2010 Subaru Impreza. Easy install. Screen looks great and stays relatively fingerprint-free. The screen with the radio stations is a bit "busy". The Bluetooth works great. Apple Carplay is great, although I'm having some distortion issues when calling land lines. I'm told this is an Apple software issue, not an issue with this unit.

I am very pleased with the unit and the addition of CarPlay in my life. One issue I have is I can't scroll through all presets with steering control. It only scrolls the same 6 presets, even though it offers 24.

Great service, easy to install and everything including the tools that I purchased worked like a charm. The radio works as advertised and my daughter is extremely happy.

Pros: It all fit as advertised. The instructions were super easy and accurate.

Cons: Bottom of radio had a slight gap. I was able to adjust the radio down a little to fill it in. For a 2011 Jeep Liberty, it all worked out my daughter and I are satisfied.

I am still figuring out a lot with this head unit but so far it is great. There are plenty of options for fine tuning and customization. The screen does wash out pretty bad with direct sun light but I have yet to look at a unit that does not have this issue, I live in Ohio and this has not been an issue.

Pros: Lot of options for customization and fine tuning. Remembers track even from USB.

Cons: Screen washes out with direct sun light. Response is a bit laggy on rare occasions.

Infinitely better than the "App Radio" it replaced. Easy install. Decent power. Interfaces well with the existing amp. Virtual EQ works well. Menu's seem to be well thought out. Overall, pleased with the purchase so far.

Awesome receiver!!! Had it installed in my 2013 Wrangler and made the factory speakers sound so much clearer, and so many things that this HU can do compared to ones I've had in the past. Android Auto is also an amazing feature on here for the simple fact that I can listen to Spotify via my Note 8, and use the Google maps as a GPS!!

Pros: Better sound than factory HU. So many adjustments for sound in Jeep. Can actually hear the radio with top and doors off!

Cons: Getting used to not having a volume knob is a little weird, but maintained steering wheel controls with Maestro kit.

I'm very impressed with this unit. I bought it because the car I have did not have Blue Tooth capability and a rather boring stock radio. Using hands free phone calls are clear for both parties and there are adjustments for better clarity if needed. Apple Play is super cool! I highly recommend this unit!

I needed something with Bluetooth to replace the Shaker 1000 in my Mustang GT convertible and this really did the trick. I expected some diminished bass, but instead it gives me more. The only negative I can offer is that I expected wireless CarPlay, but have to connect using USB. BlueTooth works fine for music and receiving calls, but navigation, phone directories, etc. still require CarPlay.

Great multimedia player for the money. One of the cheapest with android auto and apple car play. Works well. Has a lot of sound enhancement options with the crossover selections, EQ, etc. Very pleased with the purchase.

Cons: android auto slow to startup. Auto dimmer does not work well...maybe its an android auto issue?

Worked great for about a week now Android Auto fails to connect 9 times out of 10 and when it does, the audio will often cut out. The Spotify used to work as well but now the playlists are all messed up. I'll choose one playlist on the headunit and it'll play an entirely different one. The software on this headunit is just extremely faulty it seems. I wish I could just use the features I paid for.

I've just completed the installation and tested all the features, and I have to say, I couldn't be happier. The radio is really intuitive to use, CarPlay works flawlessly, and between the JVC head unit and the iDataLink Maestro integration kit, I have more visibility to car options and configuration settings than I ever had with the OEM head unit. The installation overall was a challenge. I am pretty handy with electronics, but from an automotive standpoint, I had never done anything more difficult than changing a headlight. The Crutchfield instructions give a decent overview, but there's a few things I guess you're just "supposed to know" and some nerves involved when popping off trim panels for the first time. A couple other observations: (1) programming the iDataLink Maestro is easy but note that it only works from a Windows 7 computer. (2) while the iDataLink and the JVC head unit support using the OEM backup camera, there was no wiring harness adapter to connect to my car. I used Crutchfield's ReadyHarness pre-wiring service (strongly recommend) and there were three wires left unconnected. I had to strip them, solder on extension wires (the original wires weren't long enough to reach the car harness) and attach them into the car harness. The camera works fine, but I was definitely not expecting to have to do this. There is a wiring diagram, but no instructions that let you know this is needed. This may not be the case on other vehicles.

    Pros: Everything else

    Cons: No volume knob

I have found this to be a fantastic unit, at a reasonable price. It works well and looks great in a 2011 Tacoma with the black dash surround, vs. the silver stock. Everything works great, documentation is good in the manual, and the Crutchfield support was fantastic. I would not want to do the splicing after looking at way Crutchfield did for me. It was plug and play, the play is fantastic. In summary, sounds great, looks great and works great. Bought the refurbished one and saved an additional $50.

It replaced the Toyota Tacoma Premium unit. The reasons I bought this unit: Android Auto (Google Maps and better voice recognition), Spotify and USB In. Android Auto: This is the main reason I give the unit 3/5 stars. Google Maps and Waze work as expected. Spotify control in Android Auto it horrible. I was really excited to have this feature. It appears that Google has limited the amount of scrolling you can do in the Spotify app. If you're looking for a specific playlist, you had better hope it's at the top of your list, otherwise you're going to get a message that scrolling has been locked for your safety. This happens even when your vehicle is in park (and the parking brake is properly wired). Today I tried to play my Discover Weekly playlist. When I tried to scroll to it, I got a banner at the bottom of my screen saying that scrolling has been locked. This banner appeared over the one playlist I wanted. I tried waiting a bit to see if it would disappear. It did not. When I touched the banner, it moved to the top of the screen and added an "exit" button. When you press the exit button, it brings you back to the main Spotify screen. It's a horrible circle of teasing to be caught in. I have tried to use the Google voice control to select playlists in Spotify. Apparently this is what Google wants you to do to prevent distracted driving. "OK Google, play Discover Weekly" resulted in me getting someone else's playlist. "OK Google, play Daily Mix 1"

Pros: JVC Apps Google voice recognition Google Maps Waze

Cons: Android Auto - Spotify App Locks scrolling FM Antenna is weak Slow startup

Great radio with many features. I put 4 Stars instead of 5 because i find the volume and Menu buttons to be a little small and the gesture to turn the volume up & down on screen isn't always responsive + the settings menu is limited.

Pros: - Flawless Android Auto integration. - Fast charging for phone. - 2 USB ports. - Can watch movies on it from a usb key ! - Compass. - Don't put the volume at more than 15 if you value your hearing.

Cons: - Volume buttons are a bit small even for regular fingers. - Gestures are nice but don't always work. - Settings are limited.

Very nice unit, came recommended to me by a Crutchfield advisor. I had a JVC back in the late 90s that was a really good stereo. I'm a little disappointed that in my particular application, I've had to manually adjust the brightness at night (yes, I hooked it up properly). Also, have had a couple quirks that may be software related but all in all an improvement over my factory HU.

I installed the Kenwood DDX374BT in my Fiance's 2005 Honda Civic, after months of headaches I spoke with Crutchfield of our issues, they were kind enough to allow us to swap it for the JVC KW-M730BT, I can't begin to describe how much nicer this unit is to the Kenwood and it actually works, Ha! everything about it is better, the sound, the quality, ease of use, appearance and the Carplay is a pretty cool feature too! I feel like I spent a bunch of money on a Nav unit, but I didn't and works awesome with the Carplay Apple navigation, I was also surprised how easy it is to use a hard-drive to play movies and download pictures for a custom background. I am also very pleased with how well the Bluetooth works with music and the clarity of phone calls is unsurpassed. The only thing I feel its lacking, is the ability to mirror my phone to the screen without buying a bunch of expensive cables, other than that I am very pleased with JVC once again, Kenwood not so much!

    Pros: Everything is topnotch!

    Cons: Lack of phone mirroring.

21 watts output is perfect for an average person like me who isn't using an external amplifier. The screen is clear at all brightness levels. The "Touch" of the screen is sensitive but not too sensitive when you are driving. The menus are well thought out and easy to learn even for a 60 year old like me who plays catchup with technology. The icons are easy to see without my reading glasses. Works flawlessly with CarPlay. The preset EQ's are good and fun to play with. The multi band equalizer is also really nice. The tuner works well and the radio sounds really good. Bluetooth works great. I can't say anything bad about this tuner/monitor.

Pros: Price Size of screen Ease of use Power output

Cons: I really can't see any.

Would not buy again. Interface and Carplay feels unintuitive. Seems like every other time I start my car with my phone plugged in either it stays in black screen, Spotify won't play (though when I switch to my music it plays right away), or just general slow startup. Unplugging than plugging the phone back in again usually solves this problem after a few minutes. Voice to text is very poor even trying the mike in a variety of positions, could possibly be the carplay app itself but not sure. Installation was not difficult, though the steering wheel control interface isn't great. There is not a button to pause your music or mute it. The steering wheel controls malfunction occasionally as well, sometimes clicking on the next song option causes the song to go into fast forward mode. Spotify controls are sloppy. When you click onto your playlists, you then click a playlist and it starts playing the first song, doesn't give you the option to view all songs on the playlist and then select your starting point. Also no way to touch on the screen to select a starting point to a particular song. Not usually a big deal, but listening to a podcast, if I want to start in the middle I cant click on the time I want, I have to fast forward to the time, which is annoying. Very disappointed, would not buy again.

Nice unit and easy install once the wiring harness was assembled. The right & left side of the mounting brackets (L & R) are reversed. Instructions weren't as detailed as Crutchfield claimed, but their phone support was awesome. After a few days, the only criticism that I have is that I had expected that Car Play would have been through Bluetooth, but Apple Car Play requires that the phone be plugged into a USB port; and by doing so it stops the music when you switch between certain apps. The user must use Apples map vs. Google maps through Car Play; Google maps works fine through Bluetooth connection. The only real benefit that I see of Car Play over Bluetooth connection is that the map displays on the screen and the system can send and read text messages. The system has locked up on me during Car Play when switching between Spotify channels - I've had to power the stereo down to exit the player. It would be nice if the OnStar microphone (optional adapter) functioned as the stereo microphone. Installed a generic backup camera and it interfaced great.

Pros: Easy install and intuitive user interface.

Cons: Air Play requires a USB connection (not Bluetooth). Spotify locks up.

A solid unit with lots of features that is stable and stylish. The interface is extremely user friendly. All features work quickly with little load time. Apple carplay is a nice feature. My only wish is for more apps then just pandora and spotify like the pioneer appradio. Andriod Auto is a pain. As soon as my phone goes in the usb it becomes a useless paper weight even though I'm the passenger just trying to charge my phone. Google says that is a feature not a flaw. If i try to use my phone while andriod auto is on then it losses conection to the radio. Not the fault of JVC though the blame goes entirely to Google.

Pros: Lots of features Well priced Easy interface Responsive Quick load times

    Cons: Lacks Apps

This stereo is awesome! I love the equalizer settings and the fact that you can set 2 user modes. Big heads up to Android Auto users, DO NOT SKIP WIRING UP THE PARKING BREAK SWITCH! If you fail to do this and just coil up that lead in your dash, you'll be tearing your stereo back out in short order to hook it up. Without that lead connected, your Android phone will not be able to sync with the stereo for the first time. The Android Auto(AA) program will be stuck on a screen asking you to put the vehicle in park or engage your parking brake. It's one extra wire, so don't get lazy or you'll regret it! This is what occurred once I finished wiring up my stereo and tried connecting my phone(Samsung Galaxy Note 5, Android OS 7.0) to the gray or black USB cable. Annoyingly, Apple Car Play(ACP) worked just fine for my wife on her iPhone 7 Plus. She just connected her phone to the black USB port and it worked great! Very responsive interface on this stereo especially compared to many new cars stock head units we've used AA and ACP on. Switching through the different applications(Pandora, Spotify, etc) can be a bit combersome at time but if you mainly use the stereo for either of the phone integrations, you won't be bothered by this much. Oh this stereo has built in options for adding a rear view camera and even has a Gauges application for more integration with some vehicles. Pretty fancy stuff for such a relatively cheap Double Din stereo. Wish it had a volume knob.

Pros: Simple installation, plenty of expandability with Front/Rear/Sub RCA outputs, Video input/output, rear view camera options built in(just add camera), very responsive Apple Car Play experience. Detailed Equalizer with many presets and 2 separate custom user settings options. Integrated Pandora and Spotify Applications for playback without having to use ACP or AA.

Cons: Must wire up parking brake switch to use Android Auto. Apple Car Play is not limited by this for some reason. Switching between AA or ACP and the built in apps and menus can be cumbersome. No Volume knob, just +/- buttons on screen. I can see this causing the buttons to wear out quickly unless you can change the volume within the touchscreen interface or from the phone. The idea should be to put your phone in a cubby and not touch it while you're driving though. Can't play Pokemon Go on screen?

This head unit is excellent. Replaced factory unit in 2007 Chevy Silverado using Maestro unit and the installation was flawless and straight forward. Took about 30 minutes to connect harness to JVC receiver and program Maestro unit (which integrated my existing steering wheel controls and vehicle data). Then it took 20 minutes to remove old unit and install new unit. Most difficult part is figuring out where to stick the Maestro and wiring harnesses for easy future access. I have used Android Auto without issue and the customization on the sound system are excellent. Only issue was it took 20 additional minutes to modify the mounting bracket to fit the unit. It was about 1/8 too small all the way around and it takes a lot of time to trim the bracket cleanly to get the head unit to fit.

    Pros: Great Sound, easy integration

Cons: Took a lot of time to trim the mounting bracket so the head unit would fit cleanly.

looks great! gesture volume control is awesome no need for volume knob!! improved my stock speaker quality! WOW! I had the unit professionally installed so not sure how easy or difficult the installation process is. Very nice unit!! The only quirks would be glare as many others review. I have tinted windows (30% in all windows but front. front windows have 5%) but the unit still has some pretty bad glare/reflective issues. Also, when first starting up the car the bluetooth and apple car play seem to stop playing music and then will start again and stop again. Might be an issue with the install but I don't think so.

Pros: improved sound quality, apple car play (android too), great EQ, gesture controls for volume. size

Cons: Glare, music start and stop upon car start.

Overall, I'm happy with this unit. Installation was easy, sound is very good and operation is simple (although you do have to poke around to get to a few settings, and you can get to them in more than one way). I don't find glare to be an issue and have no issues seeing the screen on a sunny day, but it is pretty bright at night. I have a Rendezvous, and the shifter does block a bit of the screen - nothing terrible, but enough that sometimes it's in the way. The volume buttons are definitely tiny, but there are on-screen controls and if you add the harness thingy, you can use the steering wheel controls. I bought this primarily because it included Android Auto and Car Play (dual household) and for the price point. I have had issues with the unit randomly rebooting. Sometimes it will do it 3-4 times in a row before settling down and sometimes it will go several weeks without doing it at all. It seems to happen mostly with AA/CP running, but that is not always the case, so I'm still trying to figure out what the trigger is. Maybe a firmware will fix this. I would consider buying this again.

Pros: Simple operation, easy installation, good sound even with factory speakers, Android Auto and Car Plan

Cons: Random rebooting, a little too bright at night

This thing is really fantastic. As is JVCs pattern, the unit is simple to use and not laden with useless features. I replaced a Pioneer 4200NEX with this unit, and its just a much more tolerable experience with daily usability. First, the unit is super fast. GUI responses are really quick, and the screen quality is very good. Next, the home screen is uncluttered and simple to use. You can put what you like there, and when you need to get to it, its easy. I put the handful of things I use most often on the home screen. Simple. Car level integration is easy too with iDatalink connectivity. Plugs in, works. So does Sirius. And its easy to navigate, save stations, and get to them. No traversing dozens of screens like other systems. It also sorts music on USB correctly, unlike Pioneer, which still, in 2017 can't seem to index USB music correctly. You can also easily navigate around the music folders, and actually get back to where you were, which neither Pioneer nor Kenwood (JVCs sister brand) can't ever get right. Backup camera integration works well and has adjustable helper lines. Android Auto is lousy, but that has nothing to do with JVC. Its lousy on Pioneer also, but at least I can see the Maps on the JVC unit clearly. FYI, I'm using USB C with Android Auto (Moto Z), and it works fine for when I need to deal with it. Finally, I bought this because it didn't have a DVD transport and I use Android Auto for navigation.

Pros: Simple interface. Practical features. Easy to use in daily life. Sorts music files correctly on USB. Clear screen layout.

Cons: Nothing that I've found yet

I installed this unit in a 2006 Toyota Matrix. Yes, putting a receiver of this quality in an 11 year old car is like putting earrings on a pig. I've learned that kids judge a vehicle solely on the stereo and presence of an "AUX" input. Install was very easy and smooth. Operation of the receiver is very intuitive and easy to use. My daughter claims that it does a better job of receiving distant radio stations.

Pros: Easy to install, solid piece of equipment. Great reception.

This really is a good piece of equipment with some very major caveats. There is no doubt that the sound is very, very good, and the features included would be great once debugged and fixed. Given that this is a "digital music player", the digital music functions ought to work flawlessly. Android Auto works well, but is not perfect. The biggest problem for now is that this head unit does not properly index all songs that are found on USB sticks connected to the USB port. I have been working with JVC in hopes that they can identify what is going wrong, but that hasn't happened yet. If you consider this unit, you might watch for a future firmware update addressing USB functionality. This is a new unit and they have not ironed out all the bugs. Also, beware that for Android Auto to work properly, you will need to be able to identify the wire that carries a brake signal - some functions are disabled unless you are parked (as determined by the brake signal). Crutchfield technicians can help locate the appropriate wire, but be prepared! The dimmer functionality is not great. At night, the display is dimmer, but still a little bit bright. I would have designed this head unit with some way to turn off the display without turning off the unit. If such a thing exists, I haven't found it. I will cross my fingers for a future firmware update.

Pros: Nice display Fantastic sound Great features

Cons: No display off ability USB functionality buggy

Since she uses and iPhone she can connect it via USB and have quick touch-screen access to music, navigation, and SIRI. The installation itself was quite simple and uncomplicated. I am finding myself loving this system more and more each and everyday. Let me start off this review by commenting on one of the main reasons (if not THE main reason) you are looking at this system: the audio. This JVC stereo has so many of the audio customization options as well as features developed by JVC that should please even the biggest audiophile you know. I especially love the Bass Boost and Sound Lift options that JVC has developed. There are different level settings for each, and you can definitely tell a difference between the different levels. The Bass Boost does just what it says: it gives that extra punch with the music you are listening to. Sound Lift uses your stereo speaker's frequency to lift the sound to make it seem like the speakers are right by your head. It also has customizable options for the equalizer that I'm sure you could spend hours tinkering with to make it to your satisfaction. I use Apple CarPlay with my JVC and it has worked flawlessly since I've installed the system (over a month now). You can only have it plugged in to a certain USB cable to work (if you plug it into the other cable it'll throw up a screen saying to connect it to the other one), so make sure you locate your USB cables to be next to each other. Siri works well and I've heard people have said they can hear me loud and clear in the car. The other USB is hooked up to a USB Memory Device which I use to stream video and it has streamed everything I've throw

Pros: Apple CarPlay works flawlessly 2 USB Cables means more options - one for phone and other for USB media device Lots of audio customization options Great video player - plays every type of media JVC Feature Options such as Sound Lift and Bass Boost make excellent additions Responsive touchscreen Physical Volume Rocker - most do not even have this anymore Fast start-up Clean UI - not clunky like others (Pioneer)

Cons: You have to be using your Phone/Siri in order to adjust the volume for that function (in other words, you cannot adjust the volume for phone calls/Siri's voice unless you are currently using those functions), this is why some people may state that when using Google/Siri the voice seems low or loud. It's because you have to adjust the volume again (separate from your regular stereo volume) for these functions while they are being used.

Would not work with LG V20 and Android Auto

I purchased this to do Android Auto and make use of my steering wheel controls in my 2012 Jetta. It was very disappointing. I was unable to get my LG V20 to work at all, no matter which USB port I connected it to. I grabbed old phone (HTC One E8) and connected it, and it was able to run Android Auto then. I suspect it was an issue with USB-C, which Android Auto is notorious for. I tried again with my LG V20, using every cable I had, from the one that it came with, to one that I ordered that Google certified for Android Auto. Nothing. In using Android Auto with my steering wheel controls, I was also disappointed. Pressing the microphone button on my wheel should be the same as saying "OK Google", but it would just mute the radio. I couldn't find any way to change that. While using navigation and listening to music on Google Play, when it tried to give voice directions, it would lower the volume, but no words would come out. No idea what was wrong. I called Crutchfield support and spoke to Daniel. He was EXTREMELY helpful. We ran through a bunch of different things to try to get the LG V20 to connect, but nothing worked. He called JVC and was told they don't have the LG V20 on the compatibility list. Of course, there's no published list anywhere. Daniel gave me two options, 1) wait for them to update firmware and hope it adds support, or 2) return the radio and swap it. I opted for the Pioneer AVH-4200NEX. It works perfectly with the phone and stee

Pros: Looks nice, boots fast, radio worked well.

Cons: Would not work with LG V20 in Android Auto, Android Auto didn't work properly with steering wheel controls.

    Touchscreen + Remote Control

6.8" Clear Resistive Touchscreen: The JVC KW-M730BT features a 6.8" widescreen (16:9) clear resistive touchscreen LCD with LED backlighting. The clear resistive touchscreen LCD provides a high contrast ratio, crystal clear display, and vivid text. The LCD touchscreen has a resolution of 800 (H) x 480 (V) x RGB with 1,152,000 total pixels. The LCD serves as a video monitor, system information display, and touchscreen control panel.

    • Gesture Control: In addition to basic touch control, the receiver's 6.8" touchscreen offers Gesture Control. Gesture Control lets you operate certain functions of the KW-M730BT by making specific gesture commands on the unit's touchscreen. You can adjust the volume of the multimedia receiver by making a circular motion with your finger on the unit's touchscreen. You'll also be able to navigate your music by simply swiping the touchscreen left/right or up/down.
    • El Kameleon Design: The KW-M730BT features JVC's El Kameleon "stealth" design which totally blacks out the 6.8" touchscreen monitor when the head unit is powered off or your vehicle is turned off; there is no backlit illumination at all when the receiver or vehicle is off. There is still a JVC and SiriusXM logo, plus the KW-M730BT's model number, as well as volume up/down and function buttons on the front-panel.
Note: To prevent the display of video while the vehicle is in motion, the light green wire (attached to rear chassis) must be connected to the vehicle's parking brake detection circuit. You cannot view video unless your vehicle's parking brake is engaged. If you attempt to view video without the parking brake engaged, the unit's LCD touchscreen will simply display a blue screen and "Parking Off". While your vehicle is in motion (parking brake off), you can still view all of the head unit's menu screens/settings, source information, metadata, and album artwork; as well as CarPlay & Android Auto.

Display Settings: You can make the following adjustments to the head unit's touchscreen display to better fit your application and needs.

    • Custom Home Screen & Backgrounds: You can customize the head unit's Home Screen by rearranging the icons and moving the icons of the four most sources you use most to this screen. You can also choose between six preset background images or download your own still image (800 x 480) for use as the unit's background from a connected USB thumbdrive.

Equalizer: The JVC KW-M730BT is equipped with 8 EQ presets, a Pro EQ (13-band), and a Vol Link EQ. Choose the one that best fits your type of music listening.

    • EQ Preset: You can choose between the following EQ presets - Flat, Hard Rock, Pop, Hip Hop, R&B, Jazz, Classical, & User. The User mode allows you to select either the 3-band Easy EQ or 13-Band Pro EQ.
    • Pro EQ: The units Pro EQ consists of a 13-band equalizer (62.5Hz, 100Hz, 160Hz, 250Hz, 400Hz, 630Hz, 1kHz, 1.6kHz, 2.5kHz, 4kHz, 6.3kHz, 10kHz, & 16kHz). Each frequency can be adjusted from -9 to +9. You can also adjust the Q-Factor of each frequency to 1.35, 1.50, or 2.0.
    • Vol Link EQ: The Vol Link EQ features boosts certain frequency ranges that become hard to hear due to road noise.

Music Enhancement: You can restore the sound lost due to audio compression, as well as enhance the sound by virtually manipulating the soundscape.

    • K2 Technology: The KW-M730BT employs K2 technology which dramatically improves the sound quality of compressed music files during CD, USB, and Bluetooth playback. When the K2 feature is activated, the sound becomes wider, smoother, and more natural.
    • Sound Effects: The KW-M730BT offers adjustable Sound Effects to provide a better listening experience inside your vehicle. Use the "Space Enhancement" feature to virtually broaden the soundstage inside your vehicle. Use the "Sound Lift" feature to virtually lift the sound to ear level. And use the "Sound Response" feature to virtually make the sound more realistic and live inside your car.

Volume Level & Bass Management: The digital media receiver offers several volume level adjustments to tailor the audio output of your sources. The KW-M730BT also provides bass management to get the most impact out of your system.

    • Loudness, Bass Boost & Bass Extension: The Loudness feature boosts low and high frequencies to produce a well-balanced sound at a low volume level. The unit's Bass Boost enhances low bass frequencies at any volume level. There is also a Bass Extension feature which further enhances the unit's bass output.
    • Volume Adjust: The input level of each source (other than FM) is adjustable relative to the FM radio volume, so there isn't a significant volume difference when changing sources. Each source is individually adjustable from -15 to +6.

Source Beep: The in-dash receiver provides an audible beep to confirm source selection. This function can be turned On or Off.

    AV + OEM Connectivity

AV Input: The JVC KW-M730BT digital media receiver is fitted with a rear-panel minijack (3.5mm) audio/video input to connect external AV sources, such as a game system, Blu-ray player, or TV tuner.

AV Output (with Dual Zone): The unit features a composite video jack and 3.5mm audio jack to output AV signals to an optional monitor and headphone system. The unit's AV output can be set to AV-In, USB, iPod, or Off. Volume of the second zone can be controlled by the digital media receiver or your rear entertainment system.

    Notes:

    • If you select USB, iPod, Spotify, Pandora, Bluetooth, CarPlay, or Android Auto as the main source, you cannot select USB or iPod as the AV output source.
    • CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, Pandora, & Spotify cannot be selected as an AV output source.

Rear Camera In: The rear-panel Camera input consists of a composite video connector which allows you to connect an optional rear-view camera (sold separately). By connecting a rear view camera, you can use the in-dash receiver's touchscreen LCD to see what's behind you when backing up.

    • Parking Guide Lines: When a rear-view camera is connected and you are viewing a rear view image, parking guide lines appear on-screen making parking easy and safer. There are three color-coded horizontal guidelines and two vertical guidelines.
    • Rear-View Auto Switching: The video from this connection can be set to display when switched to this input, or display the rear view camera video automatically when the vehicle is shifted into Reverse gear. The purple/white wire (attached to rear chassis) must be connected to the vehicle's reverse lamp circuit for automatic video switching. Automatic video switching takes approximately 0.75 seconds.
Note: The rear view camera feature is meant as a back-up aid only; never solely rely on the rear-view camera when backing-up. In addition to using the rear-view camera, always look behind you to make sure everything is clear when backing up your vehicle.

GPS Antenna: The JVC head unit comes with a GPS antenna to enhance the performance of CarPlay and Android Auto navigation maps.

OEM Integration: This JVC digital media receiver is compatible with the iDatalink Maestro RR (794ADSMRR, sold separately); a web programmable module that will permit the aftermarket JVC receiver to work with select Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles that feature the factory SYNC system; as well as select GM vehicles with factory OnStar; select Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep vehicles with U-Connect, select Toyota/Scion and Honda/Acura vehicles, plus select Volkswagens with factory digital amplifier.

    • Retained Features: The iDatalink Maestro RR lets Ford/Lincoln/Mercury, GM, Dodge/Chrysler, Toyota/Scion, and VW owners swap out their factory radio for this aftermarket JVC head unit; while retaining the Ford Sync system, GM OnStar system, Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep U-Connect system, steering wheel controls, Bluetooth, USB interface, Satellite Radio, and 911 assist. You also get to keep the hands-free mic that comes with the car (which is specially tuned to that particular vehicle). *Retained features will vary by vehicle.
    • Extra Features: In some installations, the iDatalink Maestro RR lets you configure the head unit to operate interior climate controls and provides extra visual data; such as User Selectable Gauges, Vehicle Info (Tire Pressure/Battery Voltage/Check Engine Codes/Door Ajar Warning), and Visual Park Assist. *Extra features will vary by vehicle.
Note: The iDatalink Maestro RR is web programmable, which means you'll need to flash the iDatalink Maestro RR interface module with the correct firmware from iDatalink's website. In addition to flashing the iDatalink Maestro RR module, you'll also need a vehicle specific harness (sold separately). The JVC receiver's OEM Setup menu must also be configured with your compatible vehicle's factory system before initial operation.

I have 2011 Honda CRV EX, and I am interested in buying this JVC M730BT to use with my Android phone. My concern is that will all my steering wheel control button still work?(ie to change volume, change songs playing with Bluetooth etc)?
    [ Mausam  Jan 15, 2018 ]

The ability to retain steering wheel controls with aftermarket receivers will be determined by the receiver you are using and the vehicle you have. For full information on this type of integration (including the parts you will need) please contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat.

Using the Android auto app on you phone you can display maps and Google play to the receiver's screen but you have to connect via usb cable
    [ Joshua  Jan 16, 2018 ]

It does not have built in navigation. But you can use Android auto or apple car play to run navigation. Android auto users Google maps or Waze.
    [ Lana  Jan 15, 2018 ]
    A
This unit has no built-in navigation capability of its own. However, if you connect your phone to it and use Android Auto or CarPlay, your phone can display a map and do navigation for you. The unit does come with a GPS antenna, which is used by your phone when connected to get better GPS reception.
    [ Scott  Jan 15, 2018 ]
    A
No but it does display gps from Apple phones. Not sure about other?
    [ Pat  Jan 15, 2018 ]
    A
Included GPS antenna appears to be just for keeping the clock set. Mapping is done by your phone, using the radio screen. I love this radio! I have an iPhone and the Bluetooth works great for audio functions but Car Play is better still for audio, messaging, mapping, and more.

I need to know if a Rockford Fosgate amplifier PBR300X4 will work with the Jvc kw-m730bt with oem speakers for a 2008 Civic and a 2014 Pruis iii? If so what wiring do I need? thanks
    [ glee217  Jan 01, 2018 ]
    1 answer
    A
The JVC stereo features the RCA pre-amp outputs for providing audio signal to an external amplifier, sure. Having said that; adding an aftermarket amp to a Hybrid vehicle and factory speakers presents their own issues. (Factory speakers are not made to handle a lot of wattage and hybrid vehicles have sensitive electronics that cannot support the added power draw of high powered aftermarket amps) For additional assistance and personalized recommendations, feel free to contact us directly by phone or through our online chat service: https://www.crutchfield.com/support/ContactUs.aspx

what is the included gps antenna used for?
    [ Kenneth  Oct 17, 2017 ]
    1 answer
    A
When you have your phone connected for Android Auto or Apple CarPlay, the phone will use the JVC's GPS antenna instead of its own for navigation. The idea is that it will get better GPS reception that way, especially if your phone is tucked away in a compartment somewhere while plugged into the USB cable.

You mean the SiriusXM tuner ID? If you have the compatible SiriusXM tuner connected (SXV300V1) you can view the radio /tuner ID number on the JVC's display by switching down to channel 0 from the SiriusXM preview channel (channel 1).

Did not see a way to program the steering wheel button but when an iPhone is connected directly with the USB connector, Apple CarPlay allows verbal access to phone functions by saying "Hey Siri" at any time.
    [ Phil  Jul 31, 2017 ]

Yes you need a Steering Wheel Control (SWC) that is programmable. I used the idataLink Maestro and it worked with no problems. We have the JVC KW-M730BT and are using Android Auto with a LG V20 phone.

I have only had it a short time but no problems or regrets so far. Keep in mind you can use a USB drive as well as music hard loaded onto your phone if you are in a bad coverage area. Currently I have been streaming with no problems. If you have good phone service where you drive mostly you should be fine. Navigation will be a problem if you lose coverage. So far I am very pleased with the unit.

Yes, it does and even with a bypass installed, but it lasts only 10 seconds. You learn to ignore it after awhile

There's a message you must accept, but you're given the option to checkmark a box that allows the message to disappear after 10 seconds, without having to manually agree to it, each startup. Mines checkmarked.

does the bluetooth functionality require a microphone to stick out from the deck or be mounted somewhere else in the car, or is it integrated into the deck?

    A
The receiver comes with a Bluetooth microphone with about 6 ft of wire and a clip to clip to anywhere you'd like inside the car. I'm assuming in cars that have built in Bluetooth, it won't allow you to use the car's microphone. You'll also have to figure out a way to route the wire from behind the receiver to wherever you're planning to clip the mic.

The deck comes with a microphone that you mount somewhere in the car. I unsteady bleed this deck about 3 weeks ago and it works great!

Yes, you need to mount the mic somewhere in the car. You can play around where you want it to make sure it sounds good. I mounted the mic behind the rear view mirror of a sentra attached to the headliner

Needs to be mounted in the car, either sun visor or steering wheel column. Microphone is included and installation is pretty easy

Does using Apple Car Play require a special USB cable to stick out of my dashboard and require a special cable?

    A
Car play requires the included USB cable plus an iPhone charging cable. As the port is on the back of the unit you have to route the USB cable to your glove box or else

Will this unit allow you to 'android auto' at the same time as using the iPod? Is there a list of compatible android devices? I have the Pixel XL. Thanks!

    A
While this unit does have 2 USB ports, it is not able to run both at the same time. As for compatible Android devices, any Android smartphone or tablet running OS 5.0 or higher will work.
