Purchase this unit aver a year ago. The installation was very easy in my '07 Ford Edge. The navigation is very good. The graphics are clear and are displayed clearly and well in advance went giving turns. Being able to use SD card is outstanding. The only complaint is the radio. Maybe because I live in a rural area some of my favorite stations don't come in very clear although I never have this problem with my factory installed radio

Overall performs well. I prefer the Garmin GPS. it is move polished and gives you adequate changes in direction and does not leave you guessing. The safety lockout feature is a nuance if the copilot has to change location the GPS becomes disabled.
Pros: It informs you of photo enforce areas. Most of the time auto route correction for traffic works but sometimes you go around in circles.
Cons: Hard to see from driver's seat. GPS requires that you look on the screen to obtain sufficient information. Most of the time the final destination is not properly indicated you only know that you are in the vinicity. In bright sunlight there is a glare and you cannot see the screen. Cannot set home location. At times there is an indication of a route change when there is none. When exit occurs immediately after a route change, you are sent from the left to right exit. Insuffient verbal in city.
Bought the unit three weeks ago, installation was easy and everything needed was included in the box.
Pros: Good sound, easy to learn (took a little longer than expected, like the first iphone), streams music and blu tooth well.

I am giving this product five stars as my son and I were very impressed with how easy this navigation system, was to install and how it does more than what i was expecting it to do for the price i paid for it... My son and I installed this system in my 2005 ford f150fx4 and was relatively easy to install. i purchased the Accele RVCLPMB back up camera and my son who has a factory back up camera in his 2014 explorer was as impressed with this camera as i was. all in all the JVC KW-NT510HDT navigation system, the Metra 95-5812 In-dash Receiver Kit , Receiver Wire Harness, all made the installation easy and with very little problems. We are looking forward to our trip to Montana in May and see how well the navigation works!

It is O K when compared to factory systems. GREAT compared to tom tom. The GPS has me lost every time I try to get to a location in Pittsburgh.. The sound system is not great, but has inputs and outputs that could be used to connect to more amps. Not great base. Considering a sub woofer. I hate to spend any more money on a system that already costs plenty

I recently upgraded our single DIN Kenwood head unit (6 years old) with this one. I did the install myself and it went smoothly. It took me approximately four hours and the toughest/most time consuming parts were running the wire for the SiriusXM antenna and cleaning up all the wiring. I did use an aftermarket bypass for the parking break so my passenger (wife) could work the navigation while we are moving. Although it is subjective (and possibly wishful thinking) this stereo sounds better to me. It is running Kicker component speakers up front and I do not have an aftermarket amplifier. I did not bother hooking up the reverse wire (no backup camera) or the VSS wire (too much of a pain) and I've not noticed any problems with not doing this. All the functionality works great and it is so nice to have all the additional information from Sirius and the HD radio displayed on the screen. I highly recommend reading the owner's manual start to finish as most of the complaints in prior reviews could be addressed. I did notice that some of the Sirius functionality that is part of the tuner is not included such as pausing and recording stations. It comes preloaded with a 2012 version of Navteq, many other units allow you to download the latest map update. I love being able to use a 32GB MicroSD to load up all my music and have it permanently in the unit. For the price of this unit, I cannot imagine anything better.

Crutchfield supplied the needed wiring harness to connect this to my existing wiring in my 1999 Land Cruiser. Installation took about 2 hours. GPS is as fast and as accurate as my Garmin. The voice navigation prompts are way too loud even with it set to volume 1. I had to look in the book to turn down the voice prompts as the volume dial does not work for those. Most times I just turn off the voice. I can view the map and see the name and artist of the song that is playing. The HD radio is great but i find that 24 FM preset buttons is not enough. Dallas has lots of FM HD channels. I had to upgrade the firmware to get iHeart radio to work but the upgrade was easy with the sd card reader on the front. I also use Pandora and both services will show artwork, artist and song title. I also use XBox music on my Android phone and it plays well with the bluetooth option. Sometimes the bluetooth setting will display artist and title and some times it won't . The DVD will play fine on the screen when I am motionless. When I am moving the DVD still plays on the backseat headrests and the audio continues. I wish it would mute the main cabin speakers and send sound to wireless headphones but it does not have a separate output for rear seat audio, only video.

Cons: GPS voice prompt too loud. GPS voice prompt reminds you 3 times before you get to the corner that you need to turn. A little overkill. Road noise volume compensation doesn't seem to work. Sound equalizer doesn't work for iHeart radio. iHeart Radio and Pandora don't always connect properly. Sometimes restarting the app is required.
Probably one of the best decks on the market and at a great price. It dramatically increases the quality from my factory speakers and has a ton of customizations and a great equalizer. This deck also has pretty much every feature you could ask for.

This deck was the max that I was going to spend on a deck. My wife got a new Ford with the SYNC in it and I really like this unit better. It does everything that I want it to do. I have put in about 200 decks in my life starting with 8 Tracks but I was a little nervous about anything other than a "music" unit. Crutchfield was there for me and now I have a unit that I absolutely love. Navigation is "spot on" Music is great. DVD looks and sounds like "home theatre"

Very attractive unit. I purchased this for my wife's Lexus RX. She wanted an in-dash navigation system, satellite radio, blue tooth, and a rear camera. I tried to find one that wasn't too complicated, she's not "tech savvy". This one fit the bill. Installation was pretty simple on the equipment side. A bit tricky finding the speed and reverse signals on the car side. All in, about six hours for the complete install. She's only been using it a short time but so far, it works very well. Navigation is easy to understand, the sound quality from the satellite radio is awesome, and the unit is fairly easy to operate once you customize it a bit. As usual, Crutchfield's service and tech support we're spot on!!

Excellent unit for the price as there are no surprise extras, you get all the features and ports you could want in the base price. The unit has HD Radio, which also provides the traffic information which already saved us on a trip to the airport from missing a flight. The BlueTooth works great. The ability to have both an external USB connection for a thumb drive loaded with music and a SD card front mounted loaded with videos makes a an excellent solution. Sound quality can be tuned to each car/speaker, a lot of flexability in tweaking it.
Pros: Price and ports. The dual screen display allows you to watch a video in the lower right hand corner while negativing in the remainder of the screen.
Cons: A little slow sometimes getting the initial GPS fix location but locks on good after that. Saving a favorite location took a bit of practice to do. Still looking for an application that can use Google maps to BlueTooth a destination. The one in the manual just does not seem to work, maybe in Europe but not in U.S. Like to use apps like NearMe or Google Maps and save that search as a destination.
Great head unit and I like it! However, I couldn't get the steering wheel controls to work. I spoke to 3 different Crutchfield people and they game me 3 different ways to wire it, none worked. They told me to call the manufacturer of the steering wheel control, they were NO help. I asked Crutchfield to pay for me to take it to a "professional", they wouldn't. A little background. I have been an electrician for over 25 years and have installed a number of head units from Crutchfield. They always were great when I had any questions. This time not so much. I finally took the dashboard apart for the third time and took it to a local installer. He said that the programming they told me was wrong. Luckily he only charged me $45.

I love almost everything about this device. I had it installed in a 2003 Ford Explorer. I was going to install it, but after removing the stock cd player, and looking at the old connections versus the new connections, reading the instructions and realizing I would need to get crimp caps or solder so I had it installed. I felt it was $$ well spent after it took them more than 10 hours. The display is clear and easy to see. It's a little busy at first,(as is the manual) when you are trying to learn everything, but with use it gets easier. The hands free speaker is crystal clear for whoever I'm talking to and for me. The Bluetooth connects automatically with my Android as soon as I turn on my SUV. I also got a back up camera as well and the display is very clear. Everything sounds great.....the cd player, HD radio, my phone and my ipod. DVDs also look great. I wish I had gotten this much sooner it would have saved a lot of angst over whether I should by a new car or not. Nothing wrong with this one I just wanted a little more technology. Now if only I could close the back with the push of a button. The GPS is acceptable. I like my old standalone Garmin better but that could be because I'm used to it and it had lifetime maps which I updated. I haven't checked on updating the maps on this yet. Overall it is really fun to use, especially when you upgrade from a 2003 stock radio, CD, and never used cassette player.

Cons: The GPS constantly says "please observe the speed limit." I was on a highway where the speed limit was increased from 65 to 70 over 18 months ago. It was very annoying. I'm sure this is something I can fix.

I find it hard to give anything a 5-star review unless it's spectacular, so this is a strong 4+. I wanted to swap out my stock radio head unit in my 2011 Prius for something with simple Bluetooth and decent navigation. I had an add-on Bluetooth system via the aux in with the stock radio, but was a pain since you had to have the source on that to use/hear it. So, the ability to listen to anything, radio, Pandora, CD, etc. with phone interruptions easily answered. It works great for that. The Navigation is good, not smartphone good though. The HD traffic only seems to work with major highways, and has an annoying flashing on and off. I still prefer Google maps on my phone to plan my escape to and from work. I can't trust the JVC to be better than me. I am using this with a Nokia Lumia 920, and the the Bluetooth audio works fine, Pandora launches from the phone, but not the icon with on the JVC, which is fine, but seems like it could be easily remapped to launch for Windows phone (I think iPhone and Android are supposed to.) Sound is good, I really like having HD radio in the car, the HD2 and HD3 channels often have some good extra content.

Install was fast and easy with kit that Crutchfield ships with the unit. Love the features in the unit. When Ipod is connected can scroll thru artist, albums, etc and select on screen. If you have album art it is displayed also. Nice feature when using the back up camera, volume is reduced when you put it in reverse for less distractions. Bought the kit to use steering controls and they work great! Selected this unit because of the lane preview in the navigation.

This is a fantastic device. I was given a price by my local GMC dealer to install a replacement factory replacement for my GPS/multimedia player, which had failed. The price quoted was 3X what this unit cost (even including paying a local installer to install it). It is working flawlessly - PLUS - I got the added capability of a DVD player. The device completely interfaced with my BOSE Speakers. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!

This was an easy install and it has a great sound. There were a couple things I thought the unit was capable Of doing but later informed that it doesn't. I thought I was able to have a slide show of photos for background, but doesn't do that. Also I love my xm radio and my old unit was able to save favorite songs that I selected. This unit doesn't do that. Also the background it's pretty simple. Not bad. The GPS is also pretty nice, has a lot of different viewing options DVD plays flawlessly and I love the iheart and Pandora app. Had some issues when first install but I just needed to update the unit and fixed it. . I like all the little extras. If your not looking for that then would be great for you.

Very good product. I was able to buy this on sale so feel that I got a very good deal for a great radio. The install was more difficult than advertised, I had to remove 2 dash bolts in my 02 F250 in order for the new radio to fit.

This is an excellent upgrade to the factory stereo in a 2008 Toyota Prius. The large touch screen is excellent for overall use, especially the navigation. Added Bluetooth, GPS, USB iPod control, and HD Radio to my vehicle at a reasonable price. there are also various modes of sound enhancement including an equalizer. However, the GPS department needs refinement, it takes a while to getting used to it's interface. The Metra install kit is made of rather cheap, flexible plastics. The trim panel is cheaply made, and does not offer the same structural support to the air conditioning vents as the OEM radio did. Crutchfield did not provide paperwork, internet links, or pictures to installing the speed, reverse, and parking brake wires of this unit. But, they did instruct over phone, e-mail, and text where to find speed, and parking brake wires. The reverse wire was left disconnected since they do not know where it is in the vehicle.
Pros: Great value for the price, unit is quality built. If your vehicle does not have GPS, bluetooth, HD radio, USB iPod control, or you want it all in one unit, this JVC navigation stereo is an excellent choice.
Cons: This may not apply to your particular vehicle, but in mine you lose the sound beeps when interfacing with the Prius multi function display. Steering wheel radio control buttons are also lost, but can be restored with a pricy adaptor. Was able to use the Prius original mount bracket, made to a much higher quality than the Metra. I'd give this product 5 stars if Crutchfield could find a better trim panel that provides same structural support to A/C panels as OEM radio. GPS needs better GUI.

We bought this system because the radio in my Tahoe ate a CD and wouldn't give it back. Just a sign of the age of all the electronics. This system seemed to have all the features we wanted, with the best reviews and the best price (got in on the big sale). So far, I love it! The Bluetooth was super easy to connect to my phone, the hook up was relatively easy, the Nav system seems to be accurate and is fairly easy to use. The screen is very clear and every thing updates quickly, no waiting for seconds once you touch your selection. I haven't even read the manual so far, have figured most things out just by playing with it. For those who wondered about the touch screen speed controls, just ground that wire when you hook it up if you don't want it. You won't even need the cable (which I bought and didn't use). Overall I love it and as soon as I can save up the money, I will be getting one for my husband.

Cons: You can do more on a windshield mounted gps than on unit. The so called safety features causes more of a hazard. You have to be stopped to use anything useful or informative. If you are tired and want to find the nearest hotel or motel than you have to pull over. That is not something I want to do on a busy roadway. You could apply this to about everything.
I just installed in an 07 saturn sky redline with the factory monsoon system. Having problems getting my aftermarket backup cam to work. Been on the phone with support about five times and they're very knowledgable and friendly. We think i may have gotten a bad axxess gmos lan 04 so they're shipping a replacement tomorrow. It wont detect when the car goes into reverse, therefore won't switch over to the camera. I just noticed that this radio is no longer available from crutchfield(discontinued)..... Disappointing. Best radio on the market for the sale price!!!!!!!!! You can still find it elsewhere. Grab it while you still can!!!

Great deal for so many features and versatility. Installation was easy, I needed Crutchfield assistance with finding my car's light control switch wire, and of course they were very friendly & helpful. My car does not have a speed sensor wire so I did lose some features associated with that, but the navigation is still spot on. Music sounds great, love the HD stations.

Excellent product, easy install, great sound, I use the HD Radio, Pandora, and iPhone music the most, haven't tried the DVD, don't really need that feature, plan on putting my music on an SD Card I can leave in there for times I don't want to hookup my phone. Bluetooth to phone audio and interface is exceptional, people on the phone report that it sounds better than when I'm using the handset! My only "hmmm, could be better" is in the navigation voice prompts, it says, "Destination Ahead" but doesn't give you right or left, this can catch you off guard on 3 lane roads, etc... so best to know beforehand if it's North/South or East West when you get there. Also it gives too many prompts leading up to an intersection, "In a half mile, turn right" "In 500 feet, Turn Right on North xyz Road" "Turn Right on North xyz Road" then exactly at the street "ding-ding" I'd give up the 500 foot notice in exchange for "on right" or "on left" at the destination! Other than that, i can't fault it, well worth the money, boots quick, sounds great, does everything I want.

I installed this unit in a 2013 FJ Cruiser and love it so far! I previously owned a Ford F-150 Lariat with the premium sound system and navigation built in and was missing that function, plus the Toyota factory system sounded like I was in a plastic garbage can... Anyway, I installed this system and it sounds great with my upgraded speakers! It works flawlessly with the SiriusXM adapter, the steering wheel control adapter and I hard wired in the rear view mirror back-up camera. The Sirius XM and bluetooth interface work really good for me! I found a subwoofer for a good deal that I am going to install under my seat...that should make the sound even better and the unit is set up with subwoofer outputs.

Cons: Navigation seems to do too many "make a slight left ahead" call outs when it is just a curve in the road....may be a setting I can adjust... Also, I wish I could put lines on the back up camera image which helps with aligning the vehicle (tend to still use my rear view mirror for that).
This is a great unit it has everything you need to have total control of all of your audio and video needs in your automobile. I installed it in a 2010 Honda Accord and it really works great! It makes your dash come alive with all of the colorful lights.

I been through 3 radios so far. the first one was the JENSEN VM9424BT, used. which it was very nice, not to Wi-Fi friendly with phone apps, but it was simple and it did what it had to do, but I end up selling it to my uncle, my second radio was the Clarion NX602 for almost $500 dollars from an online store. I thought it was going to be a good radio, but men was I wrong !!! the Clarion radio had some really good features that were cool, but they didn't work right, it keep killing my IPod, the volume bar would stay on the G.P.S. and I couldn't see the menu bar on the bottom, the output for the headrest monitor didn't work at all, the G.P.S. would keep repeating that I had arrived at my destination over and over, so I return it, and am still waiting for my refund money !!!! I was ready to give up until I found the JVC KWNT510HDT on Crutchfield, for almost $200 dollars less than other online stores, I tried to do the price match with them, but they say no !!!!
Pros: features work, the G.P.S. is so clear and accurate with the traffic, the sound is so HD quality, the HD radio is already build in, not like the others that say HD radio ready, so you dohae to buy extra stuff to get it going, it works really good with my Android phone, I can listen to Pandora get the artist and song info on the radio screen, select thumbs up or thumbs down, the output for the headrest works really good, the Bluetooth connects really fast. and the calls are crystal clear.

I bought the older (500HDT) model a year and a half ago. It has been an excellent unit for travel. Packed with features and great sound staging. The new model seems to load faster and is more responsive to the screen controls. My only complaint is that in a world going more and more to blu ray, that they didn't make the leap with the 510HDT. Maybe the next one will.

Excellent head unit that provides a very fast interface and boot time. I went through two head units before finally settling with this one. JVC has done their homework with this head unit. The navigation provides clear voice instructions and interface contains lane guidance, but its a little slow on the refresh rate as the vehicle moves. Also, the recalculation can sometimes take a little long if you made a wrong turn. The POI search is not so user friendly because it doesn't allow you to use the space button and once you finally enter something the results filter by the longest distance to shortest by default(JVC fix this please). Besides those flaws, the navigation is spot on and comparable to my $200 portable Garmin. The traffic functionality works really well and saved me from huge headaches. The NaviBridge works really well, but I wish it works with the iPhone via bluetooth when transferring destinations (android is supported via bluetooth only). The interface is really super fast compared to Pioneer, Kenwood and Alpine and user friendly. The boot time is usually 10-15 seconds for me and everything works and functions after that time without lag. The unit is very intuitive with tons of functionality. The unit will be perfect if JVC refined the navigation POI search feature, navi refresh rate and recalculation lag. Also adding voice dial wouldn't hurt either.

Install was straight-forward, mostly followed the instructions, o extra parts left over, no gaps or loose bits rattling around. Soldered the wires to the adaptor, should keep the connection for the rest of the life of the vehicle (2010 F-150). Sound is good enough (not an audiophile). SD, USB and Bluetooth work ok. Navigation is what I expected, very similiar to my old Garmin Nuvi.
Pros: Easy install, good sound, good navigation.
Cons: Speed alert - haven't figured out how to turn it off yet (probably in the manual somewhere). It is very annoying.

6.1" Touchscreen Display: The JVC KW-NT510HDT features a fixed 6.1" wide, 16:9 touchscreen LCD monitor. The screen has a resolution of 800 (H) x 480 (V) x RGB with 1,152,000 total pixels. The touchscreen LCD serves as a video monitor, system information display and touchscreen control panel.
Ultras-Fast Start-Up Time: The JVC KW-NT510HDT has an ultra-fast start up time of approximately 10.3 seconds from Off to the Map screen or an audio/video source screen.
Hard-Key Controls w/ Variable Button Illumination: In addition to the head unit's touchscreen monitor, the KW-NT510HDT features a rotary-dial and push-button controls along the left edge of the screen. The hard-key controls provide Power, Source, Eject, Volume, Menu, Map, and AV functions. The JVC KW-NT510HDT allows you to adjust the unit's hard-key button illumination. It offers 7 color presets (Blue, Aqua, Green, Yellow, Pink, Red, and Purple) for the hard-key button illumination. Additionally, there are two user presets, allowing you to individually adjust the intensity of Red, Green, and Blue from 0 to 31. There is also a "Scan" setting which scans through all of the 7 available preset colors continuously.
Off-Axis Viewing: Use the Off-Axis Viewing feature if the screen is hard to see due to the installation angle or position.
Quick Menu: The Quick Menu is user-changeable and can be assigned a set of frequently used features for quicker, easier access. Up to 6 Quick Menu short-cuts can be assigned. The Quick Menu can be accessed from the head unit's navigation Map screen.
AV Control Bar: The AV control bar overlays a small AV source control window on top of the head unit's map screen (at the bottom right-hand side of the screen). With this "picture-in-picture" type function, the head unit can now display the navigation and source screens (or rear-view camera) simultaneously.
Picture Adjustments: You can adjust the contrast, color, tint, and detail level during video playback. You can also choose from four aspect modes for the in-dash display:
Adjustable Dimmer: When 12 volts is applied to the illumination lead (orange/white) and the dimmer is set to Auto, the display will dim automatically when you turn on your vehicle's exterior or interior lights. The dimmer can also be set to Off (normal brightness at all times), or On (display is always dimmed). You can also manually adjust the display brightness for Day & Nighttime driving.
Parking Brake Detection: To prevent the displaying of video while the vehicle is in motion, the light-green parking brake wire (within 22-pin harness) must be connected to your vehicle's parking brake detection circuit. While the vehicle is in motion (parking brake off), you can still view many of the other display and menu functions. When driving at a speed greater than 3 miles-per-hour, some menu screens are not available.
Security Lock/Indicator: You may program the unit with a 4 digit security code. Once the unit has been programmed with a security code, the code must be entered to use the unit after it has been turned off. If you enable the security indicator, it flashes when the unit is turned off as an antitheft deterrent.
2-DIN Chassis: The JVC KW-NT510HDT has a 2-DIN chassis (also known as Double DIN), and will fit in many vehicles with a large dash opening. The unit can be ISO-mounted using factory brackets, or Euro-mounted using the supplied mounting sleeve. As always, please consult Crutchfield's Outfit My Car to verify fit with your vehicle.
Built-In Navigation (powered by NAVTEQ): The JVC KW-NT510HDT features a built-in GPS Navigation system with maps of the United States (including Hawaii and Alaska), Canada, and Puerto Rico; powered by NAVTEQ Maps. The built-in maps include over 8-million Points of Interest (POIs) such as hotels, restaurants, gas stations, attractions, parking, airports, ATMs, and more. All map data is stored on the unit's 8GB SSD (sold state drive). The unit's 3-sensor navigation system helps to pinpoint your vehicle's current location. Once a destination is set, the unit provides turn-by-turn voice & visual guidance through your vehicle's speakers and the unit's display monitor; using NAVTEQ navigation software.
Note: Car navigation maps are frequently updated. While this database was judged to be as accurate as possible at the time of its release, a map database can never be 100% accurate. Road information that is maintained in the map databases, such as turn restrictions or road names may change over time.
Map Updates: Map updates via a microSD/SDHC memory card can be purchased at the online NAVTEQ store.
3-Sensor Navigation w/ Antenna: The JVC KW-NT510HDT is equipped with a high-sensitivity WAAS capable GPS receiver (SiRFstarIII), Speed Pulse wire, and Gyro sensor to calculate your vehicle's current location. The included GPS antenna features a self-adhesive base and an attached 11.5' cable terminated by a proprietary plug which connects to GPS-ANT input on the back of the head unit. The GPS antenna is designed to be mounted inside the vehicle on the dash. The GPS antenna measures 1.3125" (w) x 0.625" (h) x 1.4375" (d).
On-Screen Map: As you travel, the KW-NT510HDT guides you to your destination with voice prompts, arrows on the map, and on-screen directions. At the bottom of the screen is your current street, while the top of the screen shows your next street; the upper-left corner indicates the distance to your next maneuver. Your route is marked with a light-blue line, while your vehicle is marked by a red arrow (or car) on the screen, and checkered flag marks your destination. A magnified view of the map is displayed when approaching your next turn. When you reach an area approximately within 90' around the destination/via point, the navigation system considers you to have reached your destination/via point. You can adjust the following map settings.

3D Landmarks: The KW-NT510HDT 's navigation map features three-dimensional buildings to provide you with a better perspective of your surroundings. With 3D Landmarks, you can see representations of prominent buildings in many cities.
Voice Guidance (with Text-to Speech): When you approach a turn, the KW-NT510HDT guides you with voice guidance (Text-to-Speech) through your vehicle's front speakers and visual indications on the KW-NT510HDT's screen. The unit offers 3 voice guidance languages including English, Spanish and French; with adjustable volume (0-20). You can continue to listen to your music source while navigating. The KW-NT510HDT will mute or attenuate the music source, when there is a text-to-speech voice prompt. Once the voice prompt has ended, your music volume will automatically raise to previous setting.
Lane Assist w/ Junction View: The Lane Assist function guides you to the appropriate lane you should be in for upcoming junctions and interchanges, while Junction View displays a realistic view of upcoming road details facilitating a safer navigation experience.

Note: Moving at a specific speed (3+ MPH) engages safety measures in the navigation system to encourage safe driving. Only instantly accessible points-of-interest and simple menu systems are accessible, unless the car is stopped. Otherwise, an address cannot be entered (the keyboard is disabled). The vehicle must be stopped and the parking brake will need to be engaged to enable these functions.
NaviBridge (for iPhone or Android): NaviBridge is a free iPhone/Android application that allows you to remotely control the JVC navigation head unit by setting a destination from your USB connected iPhone (iOS 4.3+) or Bluetooth paired Android smartphone (2.2+). Your supported iPhone can be connected to the head unit via the JVC KS-U49 cable (sold separately) or the cable the came with your iPhone. Your Android smartphone must support Bluetooth and be paired with the head unit. You can set a destination from your iPhone or Android map screen, or select one from your smartphone's stored Contacts or Bookmarks. The NaviBridge app can be downloaded from the iTunes App Store or the Google Play Store.
Note: When using an Android device, you cannot select Pandora as a source during NaviBridge mode.
Total Traffic+ HD Network: The KW-NT510HDT also includes free lifetime subscription to Clear Channel's Total Traffic+ HD Network, which provides real-time on-screen traffic updates; as well as News, Sports, and Weather Information. Total Traffic+ HD Network delivers real-time traffic data for 100 metropolitan markets in the United States. Total Traffic+ HD Network provides incident, event, construction, congestion, and impact information during your travels. Using this real-time traffic data, the JVC KW-NT510HDT can automatically calculate a new route when approaching a traffic event; saving you time and fuel resources, and helping to alleviate roadway stress.
Note: Total Traffic+ HD Network coverage map. When you are out of HD radio coverage, the Hybrid Total Traffic Network+ Mode receives news and real-time traffic information from the iHeartRadio Link app on your USB connected iPhone.
NewsService Journaline: NewsService Journaline delivers hierarchically structured textual information, enabling you to easily and immediately access traffic information you are most interested in from the JVC in-dash navigation receiver. You can browse all received traffic information, both program-related and program-independent textual information, and select your favorite traffic news items.
Routing Preferences: You can select how the unit will calculate your route by adjusting Route Priority and Route Avoidance. You can select the unit to either calculate the fastest timed route or shortest distant route. You can select to use or avoid the following types of roads; Freeway, Toll Road, or Ferry.
Via Points: After selecting your destination, you can select up to four places (via points) to stop by along your route.
Adjusting Vehicle Position: If you find your current position is displayed incorrectly on the map, you can adjust your vehicle's position/location.
Speed Alert: The system sounds an alarm when you surpass the speed limit of the current road by a set value. You can choose for the unit to alert you when you are 3, 6, 10, 15, or 20 miles over the speed limit.
Auto Reroute: If you depart from the original route, the navigation system recalculates the route and provides new directions.
Simulate: You can simulate a desired route to confirm what your trip will look like.
Bluetooth Technology: The JVC KW-NT510HDT features built-in 2.4GHz Bluetooth technology (version 2.1+EDR). The KW-NT510HDT's built-in Bluetooth technology promotes safe driving habits by allowing you to have a hands-free conversation while driving, without the need to hold a phone to your ear. Your Bluetooth enabled phone can be kept in your purse, pocket, or glovebox; while you communicate through the JVC navigation receiver. The head unit also support Bluetooth audio streaming from your Bluetooth enabled smartphone or digital audio player.
Bluetooth Profiles: In order to use Bluetooth wireless technology, your phone must also be Bluetooth compatible and be able to interpret certain profiles. This unit is compatible with the following Bluetooth Profiles:
Note: Due to the differences in Bluetooth technology, some Bluetooth enabled devices may be incompatible, function improperly, or may not support all features when used with the JVC head unit. See JVC's Bluetooth compatibility chart for a complete list of compatible Bluetooth enabled devices.
SPP (Secure Simple Pairing): With Secure Simple Pairing (SSP), you can easily pair a Bluetooth enabled phone to the JVC KW-NT510HDT without having to enter pin codes or go through complicated settings. When a registered Bluetooth device is in close proximity to the receiver, the auto connection function automatically pairs the two units. You can register up to five Bluetooth-enabled devices with the JVC head unit (only one paired phone can be used at a time).
Bluetooth Hands-Free Communication: The head unit supports Bluetooth hands-free communication for your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone. The touchscreen controls of the KW-NT510HDT can be used to dial a number, answer an in-coming call, or end a call. The unit also features an external microphone (featuring adjustable gain), so you can carry on your side of the conversation while listening to the caller through your vehicles speakers (front or all). During a conversation, you can switch between the Private Mode (talking directly on your cell phone) and the Hands Free Mode.
Note: While your vehicle is moving over 3mph, some Bluetooth hands-free communication functions are disabled for safety reasons. The keys associated with the disabled functions become ineffective if touched.
External Microphone: The JVC KW-NT510HDT includes an external microphone to carry on your side of a phone conversation. The external wired microphone offers improved audio quality versus an integrated microphone, so you can be heard easier over noisy traffic and road noise. You can adjust the volume level and noise cancellation of the microphone without affecting the other sources. The external microphone features an attached 10' cable terminated by a right-angle 3.5mm connector which plugs into the mic input on the rear-panel of the head unit. The microphone offers an integrated mounting bracket which can be clipped to your vehicle's sun-visor or taped to your dash. The external microphone measures 0.525" (diameter) x 1.505" (depth).
Note: This unit does not offer an integrated front-panel microphone.
Wireless Audio Streaming (w/ Metadata Display): The JVC KW-NT510HDT also supports wireless audio playback (AD2P) and control (AVRCP) of a Bluetooth enabled audio player or smartphone. The KW-NT510HDT will be able to control basic playback functions of your Bluetooth device's stored music; such as Play/Pause, Skip Next/Previous, Fast Forward/Rewind and Random/Repeat. The head unit will also display your stored music's song information; such as Artist name and Song/Album title. The KW-NT510HDT also supports audio streaming of music apps downloaded on your smartphone with metadata display and limited control. Advanced music control of your music apps will still need be done via your Bluetooth-enabled smartphone. When an incoming call or outgoing call is in progress from your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone, audio streaming will be paused so you can take your call. Once the call is finished, your streaming music will resume.

Playback & Search Functions: The KW-NT510HDT offers the following playback & search functions for Disc, USB and microSD playback; Folder/File Search, Play/Pause, Fast Forward/Reverse, Next/Previous Track, Random (all/disc), and Repeat (track/chapter/folder).
DVD Touchscreen Control: During DVD playback, you can control certain operations simply by touching an area of the screen. The touchscreen has 3 functions areas. You can touch the left of the screen to start the current chapter over, or the right of the screen to skip to the next chapter. Pressing the middle of the screen activates the DVD playback on-screen buttons.
Resume: If you change the source, playback also stops (without ejecting the disc or USB/microSD memory device). Next time you select CD, USB, or microSD for the playback source, the unit will start from where it has been stopped previously.
Disc Reload: If the ejected disc is not removed within 15 seconds, the disc is automatically inserted again into the loading slot to protect it from dust; playback starts automatically.
Mounting: For proper disc playback you must install the unit within 30-degrees of horizontal.
iPod/iPhone Connectivity (w/ DAC bypass): The JVC KW-NT510HDT supports audio/video playback from select Apple iPods and iPhones. Because the JVC KW-NT510HDT uses its USB connection for audio & control transfer, your iPod/iPhone's stored music is loaded instantly to the head unit and sound quality is maximized through the head unit's 24-bit D/A converter, allowing for a Signal-to-Noise ratio up to 100dB.
Note: If you have an iPod nano (7th gen), iPod touch (5th gen), or iPhone 5/5C/5S; use the Lighting-to-USB cable that came with your Apple device to connect to the head unit. These Apple devices only support audio playback (no video output).
iPod/iPhone Control: You can choose to control your connected iPod/iPhone from the JVC head unit, from the iPod/iPhone's clickwheel or touchscreen, or from select apps streamed to your iPhone.
Note: Access to your iPhone's downloaded application will depend on the availability of a cellular and/or WiFi network for purposes of allowing your iPhone to connect to the Internet.
iPod/iPhone Display: The KW-NT510HDT will display music file information for your iPod/iPhone's stored music and music apps in Head Unit or iPod control mode. The head unit will display Track number, Elapsed playing time, Artist name, Song/Album title, and Album Art. Pandora and iHeartRadio song/artist information will also be displayed. External (App) mode does not display metadata on the unit's LCD monitor (the head unit will simply display "External Mode").
iPod Charging: The head unit's USB connection provides 1A of current to power and charge your connected iPod/iPhone when your vehicle's ignition switch is set to the 'ACC' or 'On' position. iPod/iPhone devices connected to the head unit via a USB hub will not be charged. This unit does not charge the iPad. If your iPod/iPhone has no initial battery charge, then the unit will not recognize it.

- Apple iPod/iPhone software updates may change functionality results. If you download a newer software version, you may need to reset the head unit and your iPod/iPhone to regain functionality. If this doesn't work, you may need to wait until a newer software update is available.
Drive Change Mode (for BlackBerry): The JVC receiver's USB port supports playback from BlackBerry smartphones (via USB mass storage mode). JVC's Drive Change Mode lets you connect your BlackBerry smartphone (that uses an external memory card) directly to the head unit, via USB. Drive Change Mode will let you switch between your BlackBerry smartphone's internal and external memory (such as microSD Card), so you can listen to music stored on either memory. You'll continue to be able control basic playback functions; such as folder/file search, play/pause, and skip next/previous; regardless of memory type.
HD Radio: With the built-in HD Radio tuner, you can receive digital AM/FM broadcasts from local stations where available. HD Radio technology significantly improves audio quality and reception, as well as includes information such as artist name and song titles or traffic news, viewable on the receiver's display. HD Radio Technology will deliver high-quality digital sound. AM digital will have FM-like quality in stereo, while FM digital will have CD-like quality sound with static free and clear reception. In addition to HD AM/FM stations, the KW-NT510HDT can also receive conventional analog AM/FM broadcasts.
Note: HD Radio is the system for digital AM and FM broadcasting in the U.S. More than 2,000 radio stations are broadcasting their primary signals in digital HD Radio technology, as a free service. Go to HDRadio.com to check for HD Radio stations in your area.
Internet Radio Apps: The JVC KW-NT510HDT allows you to access Pandora and iHeartRadio online music services through your USB-connected iPhone or Bluetooth-connected Android/Blackberry smartphone. Your Apple iPhone must be connected to the KW-NT510HDT via the JVC KSU-49 cable (sold separately), or the cable supplied with your iPhone. Your Android or Blackberry smartphone must support A2DP/ AVRCP/SPP Bluetooth profiles and be paired with the JVC KW-NT510HDT. Your iPhone, Android smartphone, or Blackberry device will need an active Data Plan account with connection to the Internet via 3G, EDGE, or WiFi.
Note: Access to these Internet Radio services will depend on the availability of a cellular and/or WiFi network for purposes of allowing your iPhone or Android/Blackberry smartphone to connect to the Internet. Not supported in Canada and only available in the United States.
SiriusXM Ready via Firmware Update: The KW-NT510HDT is compatible with SiriusXM's SXV200 tuner (220SXV200, sold separately) through a firmware update from JVC.
24 Bit D/A Converter: The JVC KW-NT510HDT utilizes a 24-bit digital to analog converter for superior sound quality.
MOSFET Amplifier: The KW-NT510HDT is equipped with a MOSFET amplifier. Compared to conventional power supplies, the MOSFET amplification circuit is smaller and more efficient, and it delivers increased power with less distortion and absolutely zero on/off switching noise. More power means louder and cleaner music at higher volumes because you're not pushing the limits of the amplification circuit.
CEA2006 Compliant: The power specifications for the KW-NT510HDT are compliant with the CEA2006 Mobile Amplifier Power Testing and Measurement standards from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). These standards were developed as a way to equitably compare power specs from model to model and between manufacturers. The power output specs for the KW-NT510HDT are as follows:
Amplifier Gain Control: When you are using the KW-NT510HDT with factory speakers (or those rated to less than 50 watts peak), the Amplifier Gain Control can limit the amount of power being sent to those speakers. When the Amp Gain Control is set to low, the volume control ranges from 0 (minimum) to 30 (maximum). When using speakers rated higher than 50 watts peak, you can set the Amp Gain Control to high, and the volume control will range from 0 to 50. The internal amp can also be turned off when all the speakers are powered by outboard amplifiers.
Volume Adjust: The input level of each source (other than FM) is adjustable relative to the FM radio volume, so there isn't a significant volume difference when changing sources. Each source is individually adjustable from -5 to +5.
2.5V/6CH Preamp Output: The KW-NT510HDT is equipped with three pair of 2.5V preamp outputs (Front/Rear/Subwoofer). The front & rear preamp outputs offer balance/fade control and are designed to hookup to a full-range 4-channel amplifier. The subwoofer preamp output is non-fading and designed to hookup to a mono-block subwoofer amplifier. You can adjust the head unit's subwoofer level between -50 and +10.
Digital Crossover Network: The KW-NT510HDT features a variable high pass crossover for the front & rear speakers, as well as a low pass crossover for the subwoofer.
Equalizer: The JVC KW-NT510HDT provides both a Preset EQ for quick musical adjustment and 13-Band EQ for more advanced customization.
Note: You can store EQ settings for each source (Disc, Tuner, AV-IN, USB, iPod, Bluetooth, iHeart Radio, and Pandora).
DSP Control: The JVC KW-NT510HDT 's Digital Sound Processor (DSP) offers various vehicle, audio, and driver settings to improve the sound in your car, truck, SUV, or van.
Dynamic Range Compression: The dynamic range can be adjusted by selecting either Normal, Wide or Dialog. Dialog makes the total sound volume become larger as compared with Wide and Normal, allowing you to listen to the movie's dialogue more clearly. This is effective only on Dolby Digital software.
Key Beep: The in-dash head unit provides an audible beep to confirm button operation. This function can be turned On or Off.
Front-Panel Aux Input: A front-panel stereo minijack (3.5mm) is provided to allow the connection of a portable audio source. Simply connect your portable digital music player to the unit's front-panel auxiliary input, and you can listen to the audio from the portable player through the speakers in your mobile audio system.
Audio/Video Input: The rear-panel audio/video input consists of left and right RCA audio jacks and an RCA composite video jack, allowing you to connect external equipment to this head unit. The audio/video input can be set to one of the following modes - AV (when connecting an audio/video component), Audio (when connecting an audio component), and Off (when no component is connected).
Camera In: The rear-panel Camera input consists of a composite video connector which allows you to connect an optional rear-view camera (105KVCM20, sold separately). The unit features a reverse gear signal wire, that when connected to your vehicle's reverse light circuit, will automatically switch the KW-NT510HDT's display to the rear-view camera input. Automatic video switching takes approximately 1.2 seconds. Audio from your music source will continue playing, while the back-up camera is displayed. You can set the head unit to attenuate the audio when shifting into reverse gear.
Video Output: The rear-panel Video Output consists of a composite video jack that allows you to connect an optional external monitor. You can watch the same video source that is being played back on the JVC head unit on your connected external monitor (sold separately). You can select between a 16:9, 4:3 LB, or 4:3 PS Aspect Ratio for the unit's video output to match your connected monitor.
Steering Wheel Remote Compatibility: The head unit features an OEM steering wheel remote control input (3.5mm connector) that lets you keep your vehicle's factory radio steering wheel remote controls when used with an optional steering wheel audio control adapter (sold separately).
