About the JVC RM-RK62M

Jon Paul

Keep your marine receiver safe

JVC's RM-RK62M wired marine remote control lets you manage the music on your boat from a convenient spot — without exposing your marine receiver to the elements. When connected to a compatible JVC marine stereo, this IPX7-compliant remote can handle track selection, fast-forward, rewind, volume, mute, and source selection while also handling sun, salt, and spray. You can use it day or night, thanks to the back-lit buttons, and you can even connect up to six remotes in a series on larger vessels.

Q
Work for JVC KD-X342BT?
[ vadeniuc  Sep 23, 2019 ]

A
No. The JVC RM-RK62M marine wired remote control is compatible with JVC marine and in-dash head units that feature a SWC remote wire (blue/yellow). That JVC KD-X342BT does not appear to support SWC controls.

Q
I'm replacing a Sony remote controller on the back of my boat. The sony remote has a larger hole cut out. Is there an adapter that I can purchase so it will fill the hole and hold the JVC remote?
[ Kendall  Jun 06, 2017 ]

A
There's no "JVC-specific" adapter offered for the RM-RK62M marine remote. However, we carry some universal brackets that may be helpful in this application; such as this metal backstrap here: https://www.crutchfield.com/p_120BKSTRAP/Universal-Back-Strap.html?tp=2114 For more details or to discuss the installation/mounting further, please feel free to contact an Advisor directly by phone (888.955.6000) or online chat. Thanks!

Q
Planning on purchasing and installing this remote for a JVC KD X33MBS head unit. Will this remote have the ability to control devices auxiliary or blue tooth connected to the JVC KD X33MBS head unit?
[ Chris  Mar 03, 2017 ]
1 answer
A
When you use the aux input, all you can control is volume levels from it. You cannot use this remote to change the song. You might be able to change it when using the Bluetooth to get your audio into the receiver. Not all Bluetooth devices function the same. Some may allow you to control things like pause, play, fast forward, rewind, etc... through the radio and if your device works that way with the Bluetooth in this receiver, then you will have control of the music that plays with the remote. Otherwise, it will only control the volume level like the aux input. My bio: http://www.crutchfield.com/Support/Bio.aspx?bio=101

I don't see why not! Only flaw is that you have to drill a massive hole for the wires to go through whatever hard surface your putting it on because of the fuse

Q
It would be nice to have some pictures of the mounting bracket and some dimensions? I would like to be able to mount this on my fairing for my bike to control my new JVC KD-X31MBS but i have no idea if it will mount or fit anywhere.
